To claim a PlayStation Plus monthly game, open the Monthly Games section while signed into the account with an active PS Plus membership. On PS5, select Download; on PS4, select Add to Library first, then download. Sony says monthly games are available at no extra cost during an active membership and that new games are added each calendar month. PlayStation Support
Claim and download on PS5
- Sign in to the PlayStation account with the active PS Plus membership.
- From Games home, scroll right to PlayStation Plus.
- Open the Benefits tab, then choose Monthly Games.
- Highlight the game you want and select Download.
Claim and download on PS4
- Sign in to the PlayStation account with the active PS Plus membership.
- From the function screen, scroll right to PlayStation Plus.
- Choose Monthly Games and highlight the game.
- Select Add to Library, then select Download.
On PS4, choose Add to Library before downloading. On both consoles, use Monthly Games rather than Game Catalog or Classics Catalog.

Start a download from a browser or the PlayStation App
Sony also allows you to start a selected PlayStation Plus game download to a PS5 or PS4 through a web browser or the PlayStation App. Remote downloading may require the console to be linked to your account and activated, with automatic downloads configured. Monthly Games are a membership benefit: Sony describes them as games you can download and play at no extra cost during your PlayStation Plus membership. They are not purchases that remain playable independently of membership. Sony says new games are added every calendar month. The exact games and claim periods can vary; check the PlayStation Plus listing for your account’s region to see what is currently available. PlayStation Support

Sony lists Monthly Games as a benefit of Essential, Extra, and Premium. Extra also includes the Game Catalog, while Premium includes the Game Catalog and Classics Catalog, as well as streaming and trials listed by Sony. If a monthly game is missing or will not download
- Check the account. Make sure the console or app is signed into the PlayStation account that has the membership and claimed the game.
- Check the library. Look in Game Library or Purchased for account-owned content. Sony’s download guide covers finding and downloading games on PS5, PS4, and the PlayStation App. How to download your games and add-ons from PlayStation Store
- For a remote download, check setup. Confirm the console is linked or activated for the account and automatic-download settings are configured.
- Check regional availability. Consult the Monthly Games listing for your account’s region. Menu labels can also change with console software updates.
- If it remains unavailable, contact PlayStation Support. These checks may not resolve every account, title, region, or entitlement issue.
