Choose only the Call of Duty game content you expect to use. On PlayStation 5, the documented selective-install process for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is Game Library → Your Collection → Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 → Download → Install Options. Clear Select All, select the content you want, choose OK, and then select Install. Activision says this gives players a smaller download and more control over stored content. Exact pack names and options can differ by Call of Duty release and version, so use the labels shown for your game rather than relying on an old pack list.
What you can and cannot choose
Call of Duty installs are not one universal package on PS5. A title may present separate game or mode content during setup, while another release may show different tiles or dependencies. The safest rule is to decide from the current installation screen: select the content you intend to play, leave unrelated options unchecked, and follow any dependency message the game displays.

Activision’s current support material documents selective installation for Black Ops 7. It also documents an in-game file manager for content that is already installed. Those instructions are useful for planning, but they do not establish a single pack matrix for every Call of Duty game. The Warzone setup page confirms that some content, including Black Ops 7 Endgame, is managed through the Call of Duty launcher, while its PS5 instructions do not document the same selectable-pack sequence.
That means a pack name seen in an older guide may not appear on your console. Treat the current menu as authoritative for the title and build installed on your PS5.

Decide before you start the download
Make three decisions before selecting Install:
- Which Call of Duty title or launcher content will you actually use? Select the corresponding game or mode tile when it is offered.
- Are you installing for the first time or changing an existing installation? The menus are different, and an already-installed title should normally be adjusted from inside Call of Duty.
- Is your priority storage, internet usage, or visual quality? Installed content and streaming quality are separate controls.
Do not assume that a streaming setting replaces an installable game mode. Activision describes streaming as a way to control the quality and bandwidth of streamed assets; it does not say that streaming removes the need to install playable content.
Selective installation during first setup
The following path is the one Activision verifies for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 in its support guide, updated April 2, 2026: Activision’s Black Ops 7 installation instructions. The wording below is specific to that documented flow.
- From the PS5 home screen, open the Games section and select Game Library.
- Open Your Collection.
- Select Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
- Choose Download.
- When the installer displays Install Options, open that screen instead of accepting every option automatically.
- Clear Select All. This gives you an unselected list so you can make an intentional choice.
- Select the content you plan to use. Read the labels and any on-screen requirement before confirming; do not infer dependencies from a pack name found in an older article.
- Select OK to confirm the selection.
- Select Install and allow the PS5 to download the chosen content.
Activision presents this process as a way to reduce download size. The support page does not publish a universal number of gigabytes saved, so the reduction depends on the options offered by your edition and current game build.
Why clearing “Select All” matters
If every option is selected by default, it is easy to install content you do not intend to launch. Clearing the master selection forces a deliberate choice and makes the final list visible before the download begins. Keep a note of what you leave out: if you later decide to play that content, you can return to the game’s file-management screen rather than reinstalling the whole title blindly.
When an option is not listed
An absent tile is not proof that the content was renamed or removed. It may be handled by another Call of Duty launcher entry, included in a combined package, or unavailable for that title or version. Check the current in-game labels and the support page for the specific release. The available evidence does not provide a complete dependency chart covering all Call of Duty games.
Choosing packs by what you plan to play
Use the installation screen as a decision list, not as a catalog to install “just in case.” Select a tile when all of the following are true:

- You recognize it as the game or mode you intend to use.
- The title’s current prompt does not identify it as optional content you will never launch.
- You have enough local storage for the selected files and their update overhead.
- You understand that omitting it may prevent access to that content until you install it later.
Leave a tile unchecked when you do not plan to use the associated game or mode. This is especially useful when your PS5 has limited free space or your internet connection makes large downloads inconvenient. The support guidance establishes the storage-control benefit qualitatively, not a guaranteed capacity saving for every combination.

Do not build a universal “must-install” list from another Call of Duty release. Activision’s documented labels are verified for Black Ops 7, and the company cautions through its title-specific setup material that options vary. A mode that appears as a separate tile in one release may be grouped differently in another.
Change content after Call of Duty is installed
For files already on the PS5, Activision recommends using Call of Duty’s own file-management system. Its general guide, updated November 10, 2025, is available at Managing Content in Call of Duty Games.
- Launch Call of Duty.
- Open Menu.
- Choose Manage Files.
- Choose Manage Files again when the submenu appears.
- Select the relevant content tile.
- Use the action offered for that tile to manage, uninstall, or install the content.
The exact actions can depend on the tile you select. If a mode is installed and you no longer need it, use the tile’s uninstall action. If you skipped content during first setup and now want it, use the install action shown there.
Why use the in-game manager
Activision says its file-management system gives players greater control over downloaded content and stored hard-drive space. It specifically recommends the in-game system for removing full games or modes. Removing files through the PS5 platform content manager can result in individual-file management instead, which may leave you handling pieces of the installation rather than the game or mode as a single item.

Installed content versus streamed content
Call of Duty’s file manager also exposes the On-Demand High-Quality Streaming setting. Activision documents two choices:
| Setting | What Activision says it does | Best fit | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Optimized | Targets higher-fidelity content. | Players who prioritize visual quality and have more bandwidth available. | Uses increased internet bandwidth. |
| Minimal | Reduces graphical quality and bandwidth use. | Players trying to limit ongoing internet usage. | Lower graphical quality. |
These settings address streamed assets, not a universal replacement for installed game or mode files. The support page does not promise that choosing Minimal removes a pack, nor that Optimized installs one. Make your install selection separately, then choose a streaming setting that matches your connection and visual-quality preference.
Which approach fits your situation?
| Your situation | Recommended action | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| First installation of Black Ops 7 | Open Install Options, clear Select All, and select only the displayed content you expect to play. | This is the verified selective-install path and is intended to reduce download size. |
| Content is already installed but no longer needed | Use Menu > Manage Files > Manage Files, select the tile, and choose its uninstall action. | The in-game manager is Activision’s recommended route for removing full games or modes. |
| You skipped a mode and now want it | Open the same in-game file manager and select the tile’s install action. | It lets you add content without treating the entire library as one indivisible download. |
| You have limited bandwidth while playing | Keep only required installed content and consider Minimal streaming. | Minimal uses less bandwidth, although Activision says it also reduces graphical quality. |
| You want maximum visual fidelity | Choose Optimized streaming if your connection can support the additional bandwidth. | Optimized targets higher-fidelity streamed content; it does not determine which modes are installed. |
| You are following an older pack guide | Stop and compare its names with the tiles shown by your current game. | Pack availability and menu wording can change by release and version. |

Fix: Do not force the Black Ops 7 sequence onto another release. Check that game’s current installation support page and follow its displayed labels. The cited Warzone instructions do not document selective PS5 pack selection in the same way.
Expecting streaming to solve an installation problem
Symptom: You choose a lower-bandwidth streaming setting but still cannot launch a mode that was not installed.
Fix: Treat streaming and installable content as separate controls. Use the file manager to install the missing tile, then set streaming quality independently.
Deleting a tile and then needing it again
Symptom: A mode you removed is no longer available to launch.
Fix: Open the in-game manager and choose the relevant tile’s install action. Keep in mind that the exact tile and dependency shown are title- and version-dependent.

How to verify your choices before confirming
Use this short check immediately before selecting Install or uninstalling a tile:
- Read the title or mode name exactly as displayed by the current game.
- Confirm that it matches what you intend to play, rather than a similarly named launcher component.
- Look for any dependency or requirement message shown by the installer.
- Check that the selected set fits your available PS5 storage and current download plan.
- For a later removal, confirm that you are in Call of Duty’s own Manage Files menu when deleting a complete game or mode.
- If your goal is lower bandwidth rather than fewer installed files, adjust On-Demand High-Quality Streaming separately.
This check prevents the two most common category errors: installing a mode you never use and treating streamed visual assets as though they were selectable game packs.
What the official instructions establish
The official material supports three practical conclusions:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems- Black Ops 7 has a documented PS5 installation flow with Install Options, Select All, OK, and Install controls.
- Call of Duty’s in-game file manager can be used later to install, uninstall, or manage content tiles, and Activision recommends it for removing full games or modes.
- Optimized and Minimal are streaming choices that trade visual quality against bandwidth; they are not documented as a replacement for installing playable content.
The same material does not establish a universal list of pack names, a fixed number of gigabytes saved, current M.2 SSD requirements, or one menu layout for every Call of Duty title. Those details must be checked against the release and version on your PS5.
A repeatable decision rule
When a new Call of Duty installation appears, apply this order:
Quick Recap
- Identify the title and version. Do not transfer pack names from another release.
- Use selective options if the title provides them. For the documented Black Ops 7 flow, clear Select All and choose the displayed content deliberately.
- Install only what you can identify and intend to use. Leave uncertain or unwanted tiles unchecked until you verify their purpose.
- Manage later changes inside the game. Use Menu > Manage Files > Manage Files for additions and removals.
- Set streaming independently. Choose Optimized for higher-fidelity streamed content or Minimal for lower bandwidth use and reduced graphical quality.
- Recheck the current support instructions when labels differ. A title-specific page is more reliable than an old generalized list.
