Choose the Xteink X3 when the smallest, lightest pocket reader matters most; its 3.7-inch screen and 58 g weight are the lineup’s minimum. Choose the X4 Classic for a larger 4.3-inch screen and physical buttons without a front light. Choose the X4 Pro if you need a front light, want touchscreen input, or prefer having both touch and buttons. These recommendations follow listed specifications, not universal comfort or independently measured battery tests.
Quick comparison of the Xteink mini ereaders
The current choice is mainly between portability, screen size, lighting and controls. The X3 is the smallest model. The X4 Classic and X4 Pro share a 4.3-inch display, but the Pro adds a front light and touchscreen.

Mini ereaders are not interchangeable simply because all three are compact. Decide which inconvenience you are trying to remove: carrying bulk, reading without adequate light, or navigating with controls you do not enjoy.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If pocket size is your first priority
The X3 is the clear specification-based choice. At 58 g and 3.7 inches, it is lighter and smaller than either X4 model. That makes it attractive for commuting, travel, waiting rooms and short reading sessions when a conventional ereader feels too large to carry.
A small diagonal does not automatically mean a comfortable long-session screen. Text size, eyesight, line spacing and your preferred reading posture all affect how often you turn pages and how much text fits on screen. Treat the X3 as a highly portable reader rather than assuming it will replace a larger primary device for every reader.
If you want a larger page but still prefer buttons
The X4 Classic keeps physical button control and increases the listed screen size to 4.3 inches. It is suited to readers who like tactile page turns, want more text visible at once than the X3 provides, and normally read where ambient light is sufficient.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsBecause the Classic has no front light, your reading environment is part of the purchase decision. Daylight, a lamp or a separate clip-on light can solve that limitation, but the extra accessory changes the simplicity and portability of the setup.
If you read in dim rooms or want touch input
The X4 Pro is the only model in this comparison listed with a front light. It also combines a touchscreen with physical buttons, so you can tap, swipe or use tactile controls according to the situation. Bedtime reading, airplane cabins and low-light waiting areas are the clearest cases where that hardware difference matters.

Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
The Pro is approximately 72 g, only slightly heavier than the Classic. If lighting and input flexibility matter more than the few grams of difference, the Pro is the more complete specification match.
Screen area, weight and real-world comfort
The X3’s 3.7-inch display is 0.6 inches smaller diagonally than the X4 screens. That measurement describes the diagonal, not the exact text area, margins or number of words visible in your chosen font. A larger screen can reduce page turns, while a smaller one can disappear more easily into a pocket or small bag.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

Consider whether you increase font size, whether you read for minutes or hours, and whether you hold the device in one hand. A reader who uses large type may find the X4’s extra area valuable; someone reading short chapters during a commute may prefer the X3’s lower weight.
- Choose the X3 when minimizing carried volume is more important than maximizing text per page.
- Choose either X4 when you want the same general compact category with a larger listed display.
- Do not infer that any model is comfortable for every reader’s longest sessions; the available specifications cannot establish that.
Lighting and controls: the biggest daily-use split
Front light
The X4 Pro is listed with a front light. The X3 and X4 Classic are listed without one. This is a hardware distinction, not a software setting that can be enabled later.
For a bedside reader, the Pro avoids carrying a separate light and lets you keep the reading surface illuminated in a dark room. For daytime reading, the light may be irrelevant, so the X3 or Classic can offer the features you actually use without paying the weight or capacity trade-offs associated with the Pro design.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Buttons versus touch
The X3 and X4 Classic use physical buttons. Buttons can be useful when you want to turn pages without covering the display, when gloves make touch input unreliable, or when you prefer tactile confirmation. The X4 Pro adds a touchscreen while retaining buttons, giving you two interaction methods.
Do not buy the X3 or Classic expecting tapping or swiping to work: Xteink lists neither as touchscreen models. Likewise, the presence of buttons on the Pro means you do not have to use touch for every action.
File formats and transfer workflow
Your library source may be more important than the hardware. The X3 product page lists EPUB, TXT, JPG and BMP support and describes transfer through Xteink’s official app, including a scan-code workflow. It also states that the device works with the official Xteink app rather than third-party apps.
The X4 Classic comparison listing includes app and microSD transfer. The X4 Pro listing includes app, microSD and USB transfer. Those options can change how easily you move books from a phone, card or computer, so match the reader to where your files already live.
Check DRM before buying
A format name is not a guarantee that every file sold in that format will open. The cited Xteink pages do not document compatibility with every ebook storefront, account system or DRM-protected title. If your library consists mainly of protected purchases or lending-service files, confirm the exact device, file and account requirements with the seller before assuming transfer will work.

Use a simple compatibility test
- Identify two or three representative files from your library, including the format and whether each file is DRM-protected.
- Check the current model page for the supported transfer method you plan to use: official app, microSD or USB.
- Confirm that the listed workflow accepts your file type and does not require a third-party application that the X3, in particular, does not support.
- Transfer a sample before moving your full library, then verify page turns, text layout, images and bookmarks.
Battery capacity and what it does—and does not—tell you
Listed capacities are 650 mAh for the X3, 920 mAh for the X4 Classic and 1,100 mAh for the X4 Pro. A higher milliamp-hour figure indicates more stored charge under comparable conditions; it is not a runtime guarantee.
Xteink’s X3 page estimates 10–14 days for the X3 when reading one to three hours per day. That is a manufacturer estimate tied to the stated usage pattern, not an independently controlled result. Comparable runtime measurements for the Classic and Pro are not established here, so do not convert their capacities into promised days of use.
Actual endurance varies with reading time, front-light use, wireless or transfer activity, screen refresh behavior and battery age. The Pro’s front light can increase consumption when used frequently, while the Classic has a larger listed capacity than the X3 but no published duration that supports a precise comparison.
A practical decision process
- Set your lighting requirement. If you regularly read in darkness or dim rooms and do not want a separate lamp, keep the X4 Pro on your shortlist. If you always read in good ambient light, continue to the next step.
- Choose your input style. Select the X3 or Classic for button-only operation. Select the Pro if you want touch as well as buttons.
- Set your portability limit. Choose the X3 when every gram and millimetre matters. Choose an X4 when the 4.3-inch display is worth the approximately 68–72 g range.
- Map your file sources. Decide whether you will transfer from a phone app, microSD card or computer. The Pro offers all three listed routes; the Classic lists app and microSD; the X3 page lists the official app workflow.
- Audit your library’s protection. Verify DRM and storefront compatibility for the files you actually own or borrow. Do not infer it from “EPUB” alone.
- Decide whether this is a primary or secondary reader. A mini device can be excellent for portability and short sessions, but no specification proves that its screen will suit every reader for hours of continuous reading.
Model-by-model buying guidance
Buy the Xteink X3 when…
- You want the lightest listed device at 58 g.
- Your reading is mostly short sessions, travel or commuting.
- You prefer physical page-turn buttons.
- You normally have a lamp or daylight available.
- Your files fit the listed EPUB, TXT, JPG and BMP workflow and you are comfortable using the official app.
Do not choose it solely because it is the least expensive or smallest-looking option if you need built-in lighting, touch controls or a larger text area.
Buy the Xteink X4 Classic when…
- You want a 4.3-inch display but still want button-only navigation.
- You read mostly in daylight or beside a dependable lamp.
- MicroSD transfer is useful to your library routine.
- You value a middle position between the X3’s minimum size and the Pro’s added hardware.
The Classic’s defining compromise is the missing front light. Make sure that is acceptable before ordering.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Buy the Xteink X4 Pro when…
- You often read in dim conditions.
- You want both touchscreen gestures and physical buttons.
- You need the broadest listed transfer choice: app, microSD and USB.
- The approximately 72 g weight is still comfortably portable for you.
The Pro is the most flexible model on paper, but its extra features do not automatically make it the best choice for someone who never uses a front light or touchscreen.
Setup checklist after purchase
- Verify the exact model and revision. Compare the packaging and device information with the current product page, especially if the seller’s listing uses a generic title.
- Charge using the supplied or explicitly compatible equipment. Accessory and connector details can vary by unit or revision; confirm them for your model rather than assuming accessories interchange.
- Install or open the official transfer method. For the X3, use the official Xteink app workflow described on its product page. For the X4 models, choose app, microSD or USB according to the listed options.
- Send one test book first. Check that the file opens, characters render correctly and page-turn controls behave as expected.
- Adjust text before judging comfort. Try a readable font size and spacing, then assess whether the 3.7-inch or 4.3-inch screen suits your eyes and posture.
- Test your normal lighting. Use the X3 or Classic under the conditions in which you expect to read. Test the Pro’s front light at a low and comfortable setting if dim reading is a major reason for buying it.
- Confirm your backup route. Keep the original files available until you know whether app, card or USB transfer is reliable for your library.
Common buying mistakes and fixes
Assuming the smallest screen is always best
A 58 g device is easy to carry, but smaller text area can mean more page turns or a smaller effective reading window. If you read for long periods or use large type, compare the X3’s portability against the X4’s 4.3-inch display.
Expecting a front light on every model
Only the X4 Pro is listed with a front light. Plan for ambient light or a separate lamp with the X3 and Classic.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Assuming every EPUB will work
The format listing does not establish support for every DRM system or commercial store. Test representative files and verify the account requirements before migrating a library.
Reading battery capacity as a promise
Only the X3 has the cited 10–14-day estimate, and it assumes one to three hours of reading per day. Treat the other mAh figures as capacity specifications, not predicted schedules.
Buying a generic case or protector
Accessories can differ by model and revision. Choose a listing that explicitly names your X3, X4 Classic or X4 Pro rather than assuming a case for one model fits another.
Expecting a mini reader to replace a full-size device
The available evidence supports portability and short-session use cases, not a universal comfort verdict. Keep your reading duration, typography preferences and eyesight in the decision.

Bottom line
For the smallest carry, choose the X3. For a larger button-controlled screen in well-lit environments, choose the X4 Classic. For dim-room reading, touch input and the broadest listed transfer choices, choose the X4 Pro. Confirm current regional availability, file compatibility and accessory fit immediately before purchase because product pages and configurations can change.
