For ordinary grinding, reduce the time spent between kills
When farming groups of regular enemies, area coverage can matter more than maximum damage against one target. Mobility and short downtime help you move between groups and keep the farming loop going. If your build clears a group quickly but leaves you waiting on cooldowns or recovering often, its practical value for repeat farming may be lower than its strongest attack suggests.
For bosses, prioritize reliable damage and survival
Boss farming changes the target: the main question is whether you can keep dealing damage to one durable enemy without being forced out of the fight. A community guide places more weight on single-target uptime and survivability for bosses than it does for ordinary mob farming. A group-clearing setup can still be useful, but area coverage should not outweigh the ability to maintain pressure on the boss.

For leveling, include progression gates in the decision
Build choice is only one part of progression. Community guidance recommends quests and rank advancement because ranks can gate later shops and unlocks. If your immediate goal is to reach a new unlock, utility that supports progression may be more useful than investing everything in damage for a build you cannot yet complete.

- Name your main activity. Decide whether your priority is PvP, regular enemy farming, bosses, or leveling. If you do more than one, choose the one that currently takes most of your time.
- Set the matching combat priorities. For PvP, weigh burst, control, mobility, and survival. For mobs, emphasize area coverage and low downtime. For bosses, emphasize single-target uptime and staying power.
- Check what you already own and can unlock. A theoretical ranking does not account for your current equipment, unlock requirements, or the cost of changing direction. A fan tier list specifically advises weighing unlock cost and existing gear; improving an available weapon-and-race combination may be more practical than starting a long unlock path.
- Make the rest of the build support that goal. Choose Fruit, Fighting Style, Sword, Race, and relevant upgrades as a combination. Do not assume every player has access to every option or system.
- Reassess when your target changes. A setup built for group farming may not fit PvP or boss runs. Change priorities when the activity you spend time on changes, rather than chasing a label such as “best.”
How to read community rankings responsibly
