Buy KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] on the platform you actually use, then check format, duplicate ownership, regional price, and discount eligibility. The bundle combines HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind. It is the broadest current package of the listed collections, but it is not every Kingdom Hearts release.
What you are buying
KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] is a three-part bundle rather than a single remaster of only numbered games. It combines the major HD collections and includes KINGDOM HEARTS III with its Re Mind expansion.

| Bundle component | Included content | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX- | KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX; Re:Chain of Memories; KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX; Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX; HD cutscene compilations of 358/2 Days and Re:coded | Four playable games plus two video-focused story compilations |
| KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue | Dream Drop Distance HD; 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage; χ Back Cover movie | One full game, one short playable episode, and one cinematic prequel |
| KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind | KINGDOM HEARTS III and the Re Mind DLC chapter | The numbered conclusion represented in this package, with its additional story episode |
This makes the collection a practical starting point for a newcomer who wants the main modern packages in one purchase. It should not be described as every Kingdom Hearts game: the three listed components do not name the rhythm game Melody of Memory or other products in the wider series.

Choose by platform first
There is no universal “best” edition. Your first decision is where you will actually play. The storefront route, physical availability, cross-buy features, and even the included KINGDOM HEARTS III Keyblade vary by platform.

| Platform | Format and storefront information | Price or date observed | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | Square Enix lists digital and physical versions. The US PlayStation Store listing is for PS5. | $74.99 on the US store when checked; listing showed an October 6, 2026 release date. Price and availability can change. | Players who want a PS5-native purchase or a physical PlayStation copy |
| Xbox Series X|S | Digital Xbox route; the Xbox listing also identifies PC compatibility, Xbox Play Anywhere, Smart Delivery, 4K Ultra HD, and 60 fps+. | $74.99 on the US Xbox Store when checked. This is a time-sensitive regional price. | Xbox owners who value console/PC entitlement features and automatic version delivery |
| PC | Square Enix lists Xbox digital access plus Steam and Epic Games Store digital storefronts. Detailed PC requirements and regional prices were not established for Steam or Epic. | Check the individual store page before purchase. | Players who prefer mouse-and-keyboard options, high-resolution displays, or PC libraries |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Square Enix lists digital and physical availability. The cited US Nintendo page is specifically marked Digital, so verify the retailer’s format description. | Nintendo’s listing showed an October 8, 2026 release date; the retrieved page did not expose a price. | Switch 2 owners who want portable play or the Nintendo edition’s platform bonus |
Square Enix also lists physical availability for PlayStation and Switch 2, while an individual store page may be digital-only. Treat the platform holder’s product label, not a search-result headline, as the final word on format.
Which edition is right for each platform?
PS5: the straightforward console choice
Choose the PS5 edition if your primary system is a PlayStation 5 and you want the least complicated setup. The US PlayStation Store listing showed the complete three-part bundle at $74.99 when checked, and Square Enix lists both digital and physical paths.
Digital is convenient if you switch games frequently or want the collection available without changing discs. Physical makes more sense if you collect boxed games, lend them, or want the option to resell. Confirm that a listing is the complete Collection [I~III], rather than one of the component collections or another bundle.

That is a small in-game bonus, not a performance difference, and should not determine a console purchase by itself.
Xbox Series X|S: the strongest entitlement features
The Xbox version is the natural pick for Series X or Series S owners. The US Xbox Store listing showed $74.99 at the time checked and identifies Xbox Series X|S and PC compatibility, Xbox Play Anywhere, Smart Delivery, 4K Ultra HD, and 60 fps+.

- All games remastered in HD
Play Anywhere is useful when you own a compatible Xbox and Windows setup because the purchase can cover the listed Xbox and PC environments under the account rules. Smart Delivery is intended to provide the appropriate Xbox version for the console you use. Check the live listing for your account and region before assuming every entitlement applies to a particular PC purchase route.
The Xbox edition’s KINGDOM HEARTS III bonus is the Phantom Green Keyblade. As with the other platform bonuses, it is cosmetic or gameplay flavor rather than a reason to duplicate the collection.

PC: separate the Xbox route from Steam and Epic
PC buyers have more than one path. Square Enix lists Xbox digital access, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. The Xbox listing specifically advertises PC compatibility and Xbox Play Anywhere; Steam and Epic are separate digital storefront choices.
If you already use Xbox services and want a shared console/PC entitlement, investigate the Xbox listing first. If your game library is centered on Steam or Epic, buy there only after checking the current regional price, system requirements, supported features, and cloud-save or controller details on that store’s live page. The available listing information does not establish those requirements or prices for Steam and Epic, so do not infer them from the Xbox entry.
The platform-specific Keyblade list names Dead of Night for Steam. The Xbox route uses Phantom Green. The bonus follows the qualifying platform purchase and is not a reason to buy the same games twice.

Switch 2: verify the physical-versus-digital detail
Switch 2 is the choice for Nintendo players and anyone who values portable play. Square Enix lists both digital and physical availability, but the cited US Nintendo product page is marked Digital. Retailer inventory and packaging can differ, so read the format field immediately before paying.

Its surfaced text did not expose a US price, so use the live Nintendo eShop or retailer page rather than estimating from the PlayStation or Xbox price.
The Switch edition’s KINGDOM HEARTS III bonus is the Long Night Keyblade. It is a tie-breaker for fans who care about platform-specific extras, not a technical advantage over the other versions.
What should you check before paying?
1. Search your library for every component
The three components are also sold separately and may appear in other bundles. Check your PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam, and Epic libraries for:
- HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX
- HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue
- KINGDOM HEARTS III
- Re Mind, where it is listed separately
- Older cloud editions on Switch or previous-generation consoles
Do not assume that owning one game makes the complete bundle free or that a store will automatically remove duplicate content. Open the collection listing while signed into the account that owns your games and look for an upgrade, owner, or bundle-discount message.

2. Confirm the exact product name
Look for “KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III]” and verify that all three components are listed. A page that mentions only 1.5+2.5, only 2.8, or only KINGDOM HEARTS III is not the complete package. Storefronts may also display the product alongside other bundles, which can make a search result look more comprehensive than it is.
3. Confirm region, price, and currency
The observed US prices were $74.99 on both PlayStation and Xbox when checked. These are snapshots, not guaranteed permanent prices; sales, taxes, currency conversion, and regional editions can change the amount. The Nintendo page used for this comparison did not show a price, and Steam and Epic pricing was not established. Check the final checkout total in your own region.
4. Decide whether you need a disc
Choose physical when ownership of a boxed copy, lending, collection display, or resale matters. Choose digital when immediate download, no disc swapping, and account-based access matter more. A physical listing can still be sold out, region-specific, or different from the digital edition, so verify the platform, edition, and included content on the actual product page.
Existing-owner discounts and upgrade paths
Square Enix states that qualifying owners of individual digital component titles on Switch Cloud, PS4, or Xbox One can receive a 50% discount on the new bundle or component purchases described on its collection page. The offer depends on the account, region, and store conditions.

- Open the Collection [I~III] listing from that account, not a logged-out browser window.
- Check whether the store displays an owner price, upgrade prompt, or discount before adding the item to your cart.
- Compare the discounted bundle with the cost of buying only the missing component.
- Read the offer conditions for territory, expiration, account sharing, and eligible editions before confirming payment.
If no discount appears, do not assume it will be applied after checkout. Verify that you are using the same account, the correct regional storefront, and the exact eligible edition; then contact the platform store if the published conditions appear to be met.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How the content fits together for a first playthrough
The package is useful because it spans the series’ main story eras, but its menu is not a simple numbered sequence. A newcomer should understand what each section contributes before starting.
Start with the 1.5+2.5 group
This group contains the original Final Mix adventure, Re:Chain of Memories, KINGDOM HEARTS II Final Mix, and Birth by Sleep Final Mix. The 358/2 Days and Re:coded entries are HD cutscene compilations rather than conventional playable remasters, so plan to watch them as story material.
Recommended Free Tools
Use 2.8 as the bridge
Dream Drop Distance HD is the full game in this group. 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage is a short playable episode, while χ Back Cover is a movie. The mixture of game and film is why the number of menu entries does not equal the number of fully playable games.
Finish with KINGDOM HEARTS III and Re Mind
KINGDOM HEARTS III is paired with the Re Mind DLC chapter in this collection. Treat Re Mind as additional content associated with the third numbered game, not as a fourth major collection.
Common buying mistakes
- Calling it every Kingdom Hearts release: The listed package does not name Melody of Memory or all other franchise products.
- Assuming every version is physical: Square Enix lists physical PlayStation and Switch 2 paths, but the cited US Nintendo page is digital.
- Using another platform’s price as your budget: $74.99 was observed for US PlayStation and Xbox listings only, and prices can change.
- Ignoring duplicate ownership: The components are sold separately and may already be in your library.
- Expecting every PC storefront to behave identically: Xbox Play Anywhere and Smart Delivery belong to the Xbox listing; Steam and Epic are separate routes.
- Buying for the Keyblade: Long Night, Midnight Blue, Phantom Green, and Dead of Night are small platform bonuses, not different story content.
- Trusting an old listing: Check release date, edition, format, stock, and price immediately before purchase.
A practical decision checklist
- Identify your main device. Pick PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, or Switch 2 based on where you will play most.
- Choose your storefront. Use the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Nintendo eShop, Steam, Epic Games Store, or a verified physical retailer that matches your platform.
- Check the three components. Confirm that 1.5+2.5, 2.8, and KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind are all included.
- Check ownership. Search your library and look for the 50% owner discount if you have eligible digital versions.
- Choose physical or digital. Remember that availability can differ from the platform’s general listing.
- Verify live price and date. Use your region’s final checkout screen; observed US prices and release dates are not universal.
- Buy once. Select the platform where you will keep your saves and play most often unless a specific cross-entitlement feature justifies another purchase.
How broad is the series represented here?
Square Enix reported more than 37 million Kingdom Hearts units in global package shipments and digital sales as of the end of June 2024. That figure describes the franchise’s overall reach, not the number of games or copies included in this bundle. For purchase decisions, the useful distinction is the actual component list: four playable games and two cutscene compilations in 1.5+2.5, three mixed-format entries in 2.8, and KINGDOM HEARTS III with Re Mind.
Quick Recap
Bottom line for each buyer
- Choose PS5 if you want the PlayStation edition, a physical option, or the Midnight Blue Keyblade.
- Choose Xbox Series X|S if Xbox Play Anywhere, Smart Delivery, 4K Ultra HD, and 60 fps+ on the listed product matter to you.
- Choose PC through the ecosystem where you already keep your games, after checking the live Steam, Epic, or Xbox requirements and price.
- Choose Switch 2 for portability, but verify whether the listing is digital or physical because the cited US Nintendo page is digital despite Square Enix listing physical availability.
- Choose the bundle over separate purchases when you need all three listed collections and do not already own most of them. Existing qualifying digital owners should check for the stated 50% discount first.
