Samsung announced Buds On as a clip-on, open-ear earphone that sits around the ear rather than sealing inside the ear canal. Its published announcement describes no removable tips, sizing choices, or wearer adjustment procedure, so conventional in-ear fit advice does not apply.
How Buds On is designed to fit
Samsung says it analyzed different ear shapes and used simulations to optimize the placement of the speakers and battery. It also says a wider contact area is intended to distribute pressure and the band’s elasticity is tuned to help the earphones stay attached during larger movements. These are Samsung’s design claims, not evidence that the product will feel comfortable or secure on every person.

The October 1, 2026 announcement does not explain how to adjust Buds On if it feels uncomfortable or loose. It gives no user-adjustable sizing, rotation method, pressure-relief technique, or Buds On-specific fit test. For individual fit questions, consult Samsung product support when guidance for this model is available.
Why ear-tip sizing advice for other Galaxy Buds does not apply
Samsung’s instructions for other in-ear models describe a different wearing format. For Galaxy Buds and Buds+, Samsung says to attach the ear tips and wingtips, insert the earbuds with the wingtips pointing up, rotate for comfort, and try other sizes if needed. Those directions are model-specific and should not be transferred to Buds On.

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds2 guidance also describes an app-based fit test and notes that the left and right ears may need different tip sizes. That is Buds2 guidance, not confirmation that Buds On has a fit test or interchangeable tips. Do not assume tips or wingtips from another Galaxy Buds model are compatible.
What the open-ear format means in everyday use
Because Buds On leaves the ear canal open, its fit does not create the same in-ear seal as a conventional earbud. Samsung presents the open format as a way to remain connected to surrounding sounds, while describing traditional in-ear Galaxy Buds as an option for deeper immersion. Open-ear listening does not guarantee complete awareness of your surroundings, so stay alert in situations that require it.

The trade-off is sound leakage: Samsung warns that how much audio others can hear may vary with playback volume, ear shape, and ambient noise, and that leakage may be more noticeable in quiet settings. If discretion matters, consider where and at what volume you plan to listen rather than assuming an open-ear design keeps sound private.
Availability and announced playback claim
Samsung’s October 1, 2026 announcement named South Korea as the first market, with sales scheduled to begin October 27, 2026, in black at KRW 299,000. That date is in the future as of October 3, 2026, and Samsung had not announced a global release date. Market availability and pricing may change.

Samsung also claims up to 9.5 hours of continuous music playback on one charge. This is a maximum manufacturer figure from the announcement, not an independent test result.
