Choose your brew size based on the cup or carafe you are filling, then choose the brew style for the taste you want: Classic for smooth, balanced coffee; Rich for a more intense cup; or Over Ice for iced coffee. First check your machine’s model number: the CFP101 uses different size menus for grounds and pods, and other DualBrew models may offer different styles.
Check your DualBrew model and brewing mode
Find the model number on your machine before following size or style instructions. The CFP101 supports both coffee grounds and pods, but its menus differ by mode. SharkNinja lists nine labeled brew sizes for grounds, from Small Cup through Full Carafe, and four pod sizes: 6, 8, 10, and 12 oz. Size labels are intended to help you match the brew to a serving vessel and the amount you need. They are not necessarily a universal measure of a “cup” across models or brewing modes. For the CFP101, select from the grounds menu when brewing grounds and from the pod menu when brewing a pod.

These descriptions are qualitative. The manual does not provide a precise strength percentage, coffee-to-water ratio, or caffeine comparison for Classic and Rich, so the settings should not be treated as numerical measures of strength.

Classic: start here for a regular hot cup
Classic is the straightforward choice when you want a smooth, balanced cup without deliberately increasing intensity.
Rich: choose a more intense taste, not a larger serving
Rich is useful when you prefer a bolder taste or plan to add milk, cream, or flavoring. Because it uses slightly less water and yields slightly less coffee than Classic, it is not the setting to choose when your priority is maximizing the finished amount.

Over Ice: prepare the vessel before brewing
Put ice in the serving vessel first, filling it to the top, then brew with Over Ice selected. The coffee is intended to brew over the ice, so melting is normal. Do not use an empty vessel and add ice afterward if you want to follow Ninja’s stated method.
Match the size to the vessel and amount needed
- Making one serving: Choose a grounds size or pod volume that fits the cup you are using and the amount you want to drink.
- Making a batch: Choose a grounds size that matches the carafe or other vessel beneath the brew basket.
- Using a pod: On the CFP101, select 6, 8, 10, or 12 oz according to the desired pod serving.
- Using grounds: On the CFP101, choose from the nine labeled grounds sizes, from Small Cup through Full Carafe.
For the CFP101, Ninja’s manual gives this operating order: select the Multi-Serve size, put the empty cup or carafe beneath the brew basket, and then select the brew style. Make sure the selected size corresponds to the vessel you have placed under the basket.

Do not assume every DualBrew has the same styles
The CFP101 product page lists Classic, Rich, and Over Ice. The CFP301 DualBrew Pro product description also lists Specialty, a super-rich coffee concentrate intended for coffeehouse-style drinks. Specialty is not listed for the CFP101 in the cited product information. Check your exact model’s current manual before looking for or using that setting; do not follow CFP301 instructions as though they apply to every DualBrew. CFP101 model details.

- Choose the correct mode: grounds or pod.
