What size does adidas recommend?
On its US and UK men’s and women’s product pages, adidas says: “True to size: We recommend ordering your usual size.” Start with the adidas running-shoe size you normally wear. The US men’s product page and US women’s product page are separate listings; check that you have selected the right one and the sizing system used by your local retailer.

How to check the fit before buying
- Start with your usual size. This follows adidas’s recommendation; it is a baseline rather than a promise that the shoe will suit every foot.
- Confirm the listing and region. Men’s and women’s listings show distinct size ranges, and the pages do not provide a validated conversion chart for comparing them. Use the size guide on the exact product listing.
- Try it on with your running socks, if possible. Later in the day is a practical time to check fit. Look for comfortable toe clearance, a secure heel, and no pinching or pressure from the upper.
- Compare adjacent sizes if you have a known fit concern. If you are between sizes, have a wide forefoot, or found the previous Adios Pro fit problematic, try neighboring sizes in person or choose a seller with a return policy that works for you.
What the upper description does—and does not—tell you
adidas describes the Lightlock 2.0 upper as one-way stretch textile intended to provide a secure, comfortable fit. That is the manufacturer’s description of its design, not independent evidence that the shoe fits every foot shape in the same way.
Do owners say to size up?
Individual owner comments are mixed: one surfaced discussion describes sizing up compared with the previous model, while another owner reports no fit problems. Those anecdotes do not establish a dependable rule for the Adios Pro 5 as a whole, so do not size up automatically based on isolated comments. If you are unsure, use a try-on and the seller’s current return terms to reduce the risk of a poor fit.
