The best fit depends on the teams and matchups you want, the networks showing them, which channels are available in your ZIP code, and whether you are willing to combine subscriptions. Start with your schedule, then choose the least complicated service combination that covers those games.
Start with the games, not the service
A conference label is not enough to predict where every game will air. One team’s schedule can span broadcast networks, cable sports channels, conference networks, and streaming exclusives. Make a list of the matchups you care about, then use the official team or conference schedule to identify the network or service for each one.

- List your must-watch games. Include rivalry games, postseason matchups, and any other games you do not want to miss.
- Check each game’s listing. Note whether it is on a broadcast network, a sports channel, a conference network, or an exclusive streaming service.
- Match those channels to a plan. Check the exact tier and any add-ons; a provider carrying a network does not necessarily include it in every plan.
- Verify your location and devices. Use the provider’s ZIP-code channel checker and confirm that the app works on the device you plan to watch with.
- Compare the full cost. Include the plan, necessary add-ons, and any separate streaming subscription, then compare that total with services you already pay for.
Rights, schedules, plans, and local channel lineups can change. Treat the official schedule and provider listings as the final check before signing up.

| FOX One | Games carried by FOX, FS1, FS2, or Big Ten Network may also be available through FOX One. | The specific game, current schedule, local-market availability, and the plan or provider authentication required. FOX says availability depends on the game’s network, plan or provider, and location. FOX’s college-football viewing information and FOX Sports’ schedule are useful checks. |
| ESPN plans and app | ESPN Unlimited includes ESPN’s linear networks and services, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network, ACC Network, ESPN on ABC, SEC Network+, ACCNX, and ESPN+. | Distinguish ESPN Unlimited from ESPN Select, which includes ESPN+ content. Confirm the current plan details and whether your target game is on one of the included networks. ESPN’s plan comparison lists the current offerings. |
| Peacock | Peacock says its 2026 slate includes more than 25 Big Ten and Notre Dame football games, every Big Ten Saturday Night matchup, and select Peacock-exclusive games. | Check the current schedule for the exact matchup; Peacock says its schedules are updated regularly. The stated game count is Peacock’s 2026 schedule claim, not an independently audited count. See Peacock’s football schedule information. |
| Fubo | A live-TV bundle to compare when you want a broad mix of broadcast, ESPN-family, and conference sports channels. Fubo advertises DVR and multiview as well. | Channel availability varies by location, and plan or add-on conditions may apply. Check the channel lineup for your ZIP code and your required tier. Fubo lists device support, including Fire TV, on its service page; see its support information for device details. |
| Big Ten Network through a TV provider | Useful when the games you want are carried by Big Ten Network and your provider includes it. | The Big Ten conference says existing BTN subscribers can watch a simulcast in the FOX Sports App. Do not subscribe to B1G+ expecting football games: the conference FAQ says football games are not available there. Check the Big Ten Network FAQ for current details. |
Availability is game-specific: FOX says games carried by FOX, FS1, FS2, or Big Ten Network may be watched on those networks, with the same coverage also available through FOX One, subject to the game, plan, provider, and location. Check FOX’s current college-football information and local listings rather than assuming a service carries every game.

Choose based on the teams you follow
If you follow one team or conference
Use the team or conference schedule as your starting point and identify the outlet for each game. Pick a service that covers the channels appearing most often, then add a separate streamer only if it carries a game you specifically want and cannot get through your main service. For Big Ten games, distinguish Big Ten Network access from B1G+: the conference says football games are not available on B1G+.
If you mainly watch SEC games
Check which matchups are on ESPN or SEC Network, then confirm the plan includes the network you need. SEC Network+ is not a standalone television channel. ESPN describes it as complementary to SEC Network for authenticated subscribers and says viewers watch it through the ESPN app. The relevant provider must authenticate your access; see ESPN’s SEC Network+ information.
Also compare the ESPN plan names carefully. ESPN Unlimited includes the listed linear networks and services; ESPN Select includes ESPN+ content. Check ESPN’s current plan details against the games on your schedule.
If you follow Big Ten or Notre Dame
Add Peacock to your comparison for the 2026 season. Peacock says it will carry more than 25 Big Ten and Notre Dame football games, every Big Ten Saturday Night matchup, and select exclusive games. That does not establish that every game for either team is on Peacock, so verify each matchup in the current lineup.
If you want broad coverage in one live-TV service
Compare a live-TV bundle such as Fubo if your schedule spans broadcast affiliates, ESPN-family channels, and conference networks. Its advertised channel mix, DVR, and multiview may suit a household that watches simultaneous games, but it is not a guarantee of every channel or matchup. Check your ZIP code, exact plan, and any add-on requirements on Fubo’s service page.
If your games are on FOX networks
Check FOX One alongside other options for games carried by FOX, FS1, FS2, or Big Ten Network. FOX says access depends on the particular game, plan or TV-provider authentication, and local market. Confirm the matchup and current requirements using FOX’s college-football page and its local listings.
Quick Recap
Check local access, plan details, and viewing features
- Local broadcast channels: Availability of broadcast affiliates varies by market. Enter your ZIP code in the provider’s channel checker before subscribing.
- Tier and add-ons: Look up every required network by its exact name. A service may offer a channel only on a higher plan or through an add-on.
- Authenticated streams: Some streams require you to sign in through a participating TV provider. SEC Network+ is one example; it is viewed in the ESPN app by eligible authenticated subscribers.
- Simultaneous games: DVR and multiview can help when games overlap. Confirm which plan includes the feature and whether it works on your device.
- Device compatibility: Confirm that the streaming app supports your TV, streaming device, or phone. A device such as Fire TV can provide access to compatible apps, but it does not provide a subscription or game rights.
- Total season cost: Add up the full combination required by your must-watch schedule. There is no reliable universal price comparison here because plans and prices change, and the least expensive choice depends on your games and existing subscriptions.
Make the final choice with a short checklist
- Write down the specific games you want to watch.
- Record the network or streaming service listed for each game.
- Check that your chosen plan includes every required channel, with any needed add-ons.
- Confirm local availability and authentication requirements for your ZIP code.
- Check whether any game is exclusive to a separate service, such as select Peacock games in the 2026 lineup.
- Compare the complete cost and viewing features, then recheck the schedule close to game day.
