How to Choose the Best Gaming Chair for Larger Men

For larger men, the best gaming chair is the one that fits your height, weight, shoulders and thighs—not simply one labeled “XL.” The AndaSeat Kaiser 3 XL, Secretlab TITAN Evo XL and Razer Iskur XL are strong starting points because their published guidance includes larger-user fit. The Herman Miller x Logitech G Embody Gaming Chair is a premium alternative for buyers within its lower capacity limit. Compare the measurements and recommendations below with your body and current chair before choosing.

Which gaming chair should you shortlist?

• For a chair explicitly aimed at larger users: TechRadar names the AndaSeat Kaiser 3 XL its best gaming chair for bigger people, reporting a capacity of 395 lb (180 kg) and suitability up to 6 ft 8 in (210 cm). Its assessment highlights seat space, integrated lumbar support and adjustability. This is TechRadar’s editorial evaluation, not a standardized independent fit test. Read TechRadar’s guide.
• For clear manufacturer sizing guidance: Secretlab recommends its TITAN Evo XL for users 181–205 cm (5 ft 11 in–6 ft 9 in) tall and weighing 80–180 kg (175–395 lb). The company says the XL uses a reinforced multi-tilt mechanism and heavy-duty hydraulic mechanism. Check Secretlab’s size guide.
• For published seat and backrest dimensions: Razer lists the Iskur XL’s seat base at 58 cm (22.83 in) and backrest at 87 cm (34.25 in), and recommends it for users 180–208 cm (6 ft–6 ft 10 in) tall and under 180 kg (399 lb). See Razer’s Iskur XL specifications.
• For premium adjustability within a lower weight limit: The Herman Miller x Logitech G Embody has adjustable arm height and width and adjustable seat depth, but its published capacity is 300 lb. It is not a capacity-equivalent substitute for the three larger-user options above. See Herman Miller’s specifications.

These recommendations answer different fit needs; none is a universal winner. A higher weight limit does not tell you how wide the seat feels, whether the sides press against your thighs, or whether the backrest suits your shoulders.

How do the chairs compare on published fit information?

Use this table as a screening tool, not a guarantee of comfort. “Not stated” means the cited source does not provide that figure; it should not be inferred from the chair’s name or capacity.

The Atlas illustrates why the label alone is a poor fit test: PC Gamer describes the Secretlab Atlas as noticeably slimmer than the TITAN Evo and notes anecdotal reports of larger users finding it uncomfortable. That is not a substitute for measured dimensions or an individual trial. Read PC Gamer’s coverage.

How to check whether a chair will fit you

Manufacturer ranges are recommendations, not a promise that the chair will feel right. Before ordering, measure a chair that already fits you reasonably well and compare its usable dimensions with the candidate chair’s current regional specifications.

1. Check the seat base. Measure the usable width where your thighs rest, rather than relying only on the outside width of the chair. Account for raised side bolsters, which can make the usable area feel narrower. Compare seat depth too: you should be able to sit back without the front edge pressing uncomfortably behind your knees.
2. Check backrest height and width. Compare the backrest’s published dimensions with your current chair and your shoulder width. A taller backrest may suit a taller user, but height alone does not establish shoulder clearance or comfort.
3. Check height adjustment and floor-to-seat height. Verify that the chair can reach a height where your feet rest securely and your knees sit comfortably. The Embody’s published seat-height range is 16–20.5 in; the cited sources do not state equivalent ranges for the other models in this comparison.
4. Check arms and thigh clearance. Look at adjustable arm width and height, and make sure the armrests do not force your elbows outward or press against your thighs. Razer publishes the Iskur XL seat-base width, but the cited page does not state its armrest width.
5. Check lumbar position, recline and tilt. The lumbar support should meet your lower back where you need it, while the tilt and recline should work with how you sit. Product descriptions of lumbar systems or mechanisms do not establish that their position or feel will suit every person.
6. Check footprint and materials. Confirm that the base and reclined chair fit your room. Cushion firmness and upholstery preference are personal; published capacity and dimensions cannot tell you whether a particular surface or cushion will be comfortable through a long session.

Secretlab specifically recommends comparing its size guidance with your current chair’s dimensions. Razer’s published Iskur XL measurements provide two useful reference points, but not a complete fit picture. When a brand does not publish a dimension you need, seek confirmation from the seller or manufacturer instead of treating the chair’s XL label as evidence.

What capacity ratings can—and cannot—tell you

Capacity is a limit stated by a manufacturer or reported by a publication; it does not describe usable seat width, thigh clearance, preferred cushion firmness or long-session comfort. Check the exact model and its current specifications, and do not treat the maximum capacity as a recommended everyday fit target. Height ranges matter too: the TITAN Evo XL and Iskur XL publish recommendations that overlap but are not identical.

Comfort remains individual even when your measurements fall within a published range. If possible, try the chair in person. Otherwise, read the current return terms carefully before ordering. Secretlab’s cited page describes free returns within 30 days for eligible non-sale chairs, subject to exclusions and terms; confirm that the offer applies to your region, item and purchase. Review Secretlab’s return terms.
