The Nintendo pages also identify Top Hat Studios as publisher. The North American page names Slime King Games as developer. Steam names Top Hat Studios, Inc. and Doyoyo Games among the publishers on its PC listing. Has a physical edition been confirmed?
Not by the sources reviewed for this comparison. The official Nintendo pages establish digital Switch availability, and the Steam page establishes a digital PC listing. A search restricted to the publisher’s site for a physical edition or Switch cartridge returned no result. That search outcome is useful context, not conclusive proof that no physical edition exists anywhere.
A physical release could still be announced later, limited to a particular country, sold by a regional retailer, or distributed as a box containing a download code rather than a game card. Those possibilities are materially different from a standard cartridge. Until the publisher or a retailer describes the product, treat “physical copy” claims as unverified.
What would count as confirmation?
- An announcement from Top Hat Studios or an official regional Nintendo channel naming the edition and platform.
- A retailer page that specifies a game card, cartridge, or disc, rather than simply using a stock image of a case.
- A clearly stated release date, territory, and stock status.
- Product details explaining whether the box contains playable media, a download code, or extras.
- A listing that identifies the publisher and title consistently with the official game pages.
A generic Switch case, storage card, controller, or fan-made merchandise is not a physical edition of the game. Likewise, a listing for the soundtrack alone does not establish that the game has physical media.

Choose the Steam version if your main device is a PC
Steam provides a separate digital route for PC players. Its store page lists the game and a demo, so you can inspect the current page and, where available, try the demo before buying. Steam is the better fit when you:

If music is important to you, decide whether you want the soundtrack as an additional digital purchase. Nothing in the reviewed listings confirms a soundtrack CD, vinyl record, bundled physical album, or an automatic soundtrack entitlement with a Switch purchase.

- Identify the territory. Confirm the country or region where the edition is sold and whether the retailer ships to you.
- Identify the medium. Look for explicit wording such as “Nintendo Switch game card.” “Box with download code” is a different product and may require an account and internet connection.
- Check the publisher and platform. The listing should name the same game and publisher shown on the official store pages, and it should specify Switch rather than a soundtrack or PC product.
- Read the contents list. Verify whether the package includes a card, manual, stickers, art book, soundtrack, or other extras. If contents are not stated, treat them as unknown.
- Check the release and stock status. A preorder, cancelled listing, or out-of-stock page is not the same as an available edition.
- Review code and account requirements. A code can be region-locked, expire, or become unusable if the service changes; the retailer’s terms should explain this.
- Compare the total cost. Include shipping, taxes, import charges, and any premium for limited packaging. There is no verified physical price to use as a baseline today.

Assuming a case means there is a cartridge

- Buy the Switch download now if you want the game on Switch and value confirmed availability over a box.
- Buy the Steam version if your preferred platform is PC and your hardware meets the requirements on the current Steam page.
- Wait and verify if a game card, resale value, or physical extras are essential to your purchase.
- Do not call a product physical unless the seller identifies the actual media or clearly states that it is a download code.
Bottom line
The evidence supports digital buying, not a confirmed physical-versus-digital price comparison.
