Neither is a clear overall winner from specifications alone, and prices vary by seller and date.
India prices and configurations
The launch prices reported by Gadgets 360 on 5 March 2026 differ from a later retailer listing snapshot, so treat them as dated reference points rather than guaranteed current prices. The launch report said Nothing Phone 4a sales would begin on Flipkart on 13 March 2026. Gadgets 360’s India comparison lists these launch configurations:

That is a retailer snapshot, not a stable or necessarily available price. For a fair value comparison, check the exact RAM and storage SKU, seller, stock, and offers on the same day.

How the main specifications compare
The figures below are reported specifications, not independent measurements. In particular, peak-brightness figures, zoom range, and claimed playback or charging results should not be read as controlled head-to-head test results. The India comparison reports the following: Gadgets 360 comparison, updated 5 March 2026.
| Category | Nothing Phone 4a | Motorola Edge 70 (India comparison configuration) |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.78-inch; 1,224 × 2,720 pixels; 120Hz; up to 4,500 nits peak brightness | 6.7-inch; 1.5K; 120Hz; up to 4,500 nits peak brightness |

| Rear cameras | 50MP main, 50MP periscope with optical stabilization and up to 70x Ultra Zoom, 8MP ultrawide | 50MP main and 50MP ultrawide |
| Front camera | 32MP | 50MP |
| Battery and charging | 5,400mAh; 50W wired; comparison reports about 64 minutes from 1% to 100% | 5,000mAh; 68W wired and 15W wireless; comparison attributes up to 31 hours of continuous video playback to Motorola |
| Weight and thickness | 204.5g; 8.55mm | About 159g; 5.99mm |
| Protection ratings cited | IP64 | IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD-810H |
The Nothing product page also describes a three-camera system and up to 70x Ultra Zoom: Nothing Phone 4a product page. A zoom limit or camera resolution does not establish real-world photo quality; that requires comparative testing. Likewise, Motorola’s stated video-playback figure is a company claim reported in the comparison, not an independently measured result.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the differences mean when choosing
Choose Nothing Phone 4a for a dedicated zoom camera
The 50MP periscope camera is the clearest hardware distinction. It gives the Nothing a dedicated long-range camera option that the listed Motorola configuration does not have. Choose it if that camera type and Nothing’s interface and design are important to you; the listed 70x figure describes a zoom range, not a guarantee of detail at that magnification.
Choose Motorola Edge 70 for portability and charging options
At the comparison’s reported figures, the Edge 70 is substantially thinner and lighter. It also has the higher wired-charging wattage and adds 15W wireless charging in the comparison configuration. Those are practical advantages if pocketability or charging flexibility matters more to you than a periscope camera.
Consider protection ratings precisely
The comparison lists IP64 for Nothing and IP68/IP69 plus MIL-STD-810H for Motorola. These are different protection claims, not proof that either handset is damage-proof. Check the exact regional model and its manufacturer terms before relying on a rating for a particular exposure or use case.
Do not pick a performance or battery-life winner from the table alone
The chipsets, battery capacities, charging rates, and software promises provide useful comparison points, but they do not by themselves establish which phone is faster in your apps or lasts longer in your routine. The cited material does not provide a controlled benchmark or head-to-head battery test. Software-support promises are attributed to the India comparison, so confirm the update policy for the precise regional SKU before buying.
