If you want an HP laptop with Intel’s Wildcat Lake processors, the clearest identified consumer option is the 14-inch HP OmniBook 5, offered with Core 5 320 or Core 7 350. A directly comparable HP business laptop using the same processor family is not established by the available product information. Choose the OmniBook for personal, school or general mobile use if its exact configuration fits; for an organization, start with the business requirements and verify the processor on the specific HP SKU.
What “Wildcat Lake” means on a laptop listing
Wildcat Lake is Intel’s former codename for the retail-facing Intel Core Series 3 processor family. When searching for a laptop, use “Core Series 3” and the exact processor number, rather than relying on the codename alone.

On June 5, 2026, Intel said more than 70 designs from PC makers, including HP, were expected in the months ahead. That was Intel’s forecast, not confirmation of how many HP models were available by October 4, 2026. Intel also characterized the family as offering Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and an NPU and GPU for everyday use; these are Intel’s product claims, not independent performance findings. Actual performance varies with use and configuration.

Tom’s Hardware reported on October 1, 2026, that HP’s 14-inch OmniBook 5 would use Intel Core 5 320 or Core 7 350 processors and start at $699.99 in the United States. The report described a consumer laptop weighing 2.56 pounds, with integrated Intel graphics, a 60 Wh battery and a 65 W USB-C GaN charger. HP’s portfolio announcement positions OmniBook 5 for families, students and professionals on the move; that positioning does not replace checking the exact model and configuration.

How to compare it with an HP business laptop
HP’s store describes EliteBook as business/enterprise and ProBook as SMB/professional. Its general product page does not establish an EliteBook or ProBook configuration using Core Series 3. Nor should features associated with another processor configuration—such as Intel Core Ultra with vPro—be assumed for a Wildcat Lake system.

Compare the exact OmniBook configuration with the exact business SKU under consideration. The available sources provide no independent OmniBook-versus-business benchmark results, so workload suitability should be judged against your software and requirements rather than inferred from the processor family name.
- Processor and workload: Confirm the processor number and check it against your everyday applications, not just the family name.
- Memory and storage: Verify installed capacity, whether memory is soldered, and which SSD option is actually available. The OmniBook 5’s memory is reported as soldered.
- Display: Compare resolution, brightness and touch support, and confirm that the panel option you want has shipped.
- Battery: Compare results measured under similar conditions. Keep the OmniBook’s reported local-video maximum separate from mixed-use expectations.
- Administration and security: For a work deployment, verify the exact SKU’s management and security features, operating system edition, and compatibility with your IT environment.
- Support and procurement: Check the listing for warranty duration, service level, deployment or procurement options, and availability in your region.
- Price and portability: Compare current total prices and weights for the configurations you would actually buy, not family-level marketing or a starting price alone.
Which one should you choose?
Choose the OmniBook 5 as a consumer candidate if…
- You are buying for personal use, school or general mobile work.
- The specific memory, storage and display configuration meets your needs, and you are comfortable with the reported soldered memory.
- The current price and availability work for you after checking the live listing.
Shortlist a business laptop first if…
- Your organization requires particular management, security, operating-system, warranty or procurement terms.
- You need confirmation that the model fits an existing IT deployment before choosing a processor family.
For a business purchase, identify the HP business SKU that meets those requirements and then verify its processor on that product listing. The reviewed sources do not confirm a currently available HP business laptop using Core Series 3, so do not treat an EliteBook or ProBook as a Wildcat Lake counterpart without direct evidence for the exact model and region.
