For an online game night at home, choose the setup before the game: Jackbox is suited to a host sharing one screen, Minecraft to a shared world, and Roblox to friends moving between supported experiences together. These are three verified options for different kinds of groups—not a verified ranking of 26 games.
Choose a game by how your group will connect
Before settling on a title, check five things: how many people are playing, whether you want cooperation or competition, which devices and game editions everyone has, whether each person needs a copy or subscription, and how much setup you are willing to do. The three options below illustrate different ways to handle those trade-offs.

Jackbox: one host screen, guests join by code
Jackbox party games are a practical fit when one person can host and share the game screen. Jackbox Games says only the host needs to own the product. Guests use a browser-capable device, usually a phone, and join at jackbox.tv with the room code shown on the host’s screen. The host needs to make that screen visible to remote players.

- Have the host purchase and install a Jackbox Party Pack, then launch a game.
- If players are in different homes, share the host’s screen using a service such as Discord or Zoom.
- Give each guest the room code and have them enter it at jackbox.tv on a browser-capable device.
Jackbox also describes Steam Remote Play Together as an option for supported local co-op games. Remote screen-sharing and Remote Play Together are different setups; check the instructions for the particular game and platform. Minecraft: build or explore in a shared world
Minecraft suits friends who want an ongoing creative or cooperative world rather than a short party round. Its multiplayer options include shared adventures and private Realms. First confirm that everyone is using a compatible edition: Java players can join Java Realms, and Bedrock players can join Bedrock Realms. Realms subscription options
Mojang’s Realms page currently lists these US monthly prices and simultaneous-player allowances. The host is included in the stated player count; invited friends do not need their own Realms subscription.

Bedrock couch co-op
Bedrock on console also supports couch co-op, so friends in the same room may be able to play together on one console. That is a local option, not the same as an online shared server; check the device and edition everyone plans to use.

Roblox: join experiences as a group
Roblox is a platform of experiences rather than one standalone game. Its Party feature lets friends stay connected while they join and switch among supported games. Roblox says a Party can include up to six users and lists Party availability on mobile (iOS and Android), desktop, and console. The feature details are in the Roblox Party FAQ.
Do not assume every group has the same chat or voice options: Roblox says communication availability depends on age, settings, trusted-friend status, and region. Review the account’s current settings and Roblox’s guidance before planning to use voice or text chat, particularly for younger players.

- Pick Jackbox if you want party prompts and one person can host and share a screen; guests join with a code on their own browser-capable devices.
- Pick Minecraft if you want to create or explore a shared world; confirm edition compatibility and decide whether a Realms subscription fits the group.
