Then verify two separate features in that exact case’s specifications: whether it charges your phone wirelessly and whether a Qi pad can recharge the case.
Will a battery case fit my phone?
Only buy a case explicitly listed for your exact phone model. For example, mophie’s current Juice Pack page lists separate versions for iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone Air, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 17e/16e, iPhone 16, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. That product list is not a guarantee that one version fits another iPhone generation. Check the manufacturer’s model-specific listing and match its wording to the model shown in your phone’s settings or original packaging.

Legacy Juice Pack manuals likewise restrict each case to its named phone. A model name that looks close is not enough: camera placement, dimensions, and connector alignment can differ. Search for the exact model, such as “mophie Juice Pack battery case for [exact iPhone model],” and confirm the product page names your handset before ordering.
Can I charge a battery case wirelessly?
“Wireless charging” can mean two different things. One is wireless power from the case to the phone; the other is using a wireless pad to recharge the case. A product may support both, but confirm both functions for the specific model rather than assuming one from the other.

Does the case wirelessly charge the phone?
A battery case contains its own battery and can supply power to the phone while attached. Check the case’s description for its charging method and any stated runtime extension. On its current Juice Pack page, mophie claims up to 50% additional battery life. That is a manufacturer-stated maximum, not a universal or independently measured result; actual extension can vary with phone use and conditions. See mophie’s current product details.
Can a wireless pad recharge the case?
Some cases accept power from a Qi-compatible pad. mophie says its current Juice Pack can charge both the phone and case when placed on a Qi pad. Legacy Juice Pack access manuals also describe wireless input and output and instruct users to center the case on a Qi-compatible base. These details are model-specific, so check the manual or specifications for the exact case you plan to buy.

What features should I compare?
Once fit and charging direction are clear, compare the features that affect daily use. Manufacturer claims describe the product, not a guarantee of the same experience for every phone or user.

- Battery extension: Look for a stated capacity or runtime claim and note how it is qualified. For example, mophie’s “up to 50% additional battery life” is a stated maximum.
- Bulk and protection: A built-in battery adds size and weight compared with a regular case. Check the product’s protection description and decide whether the extra bulk is worth keeping power attached to the phone.
- Controls and indicators: mophie lists an LED indicator and status button on its current Juice Pack page. These can help you check charge status without guessing.
- Charging order: mophie says the current Juice Pack prioritizes charging the phone first. Confirm the behavior for your particular model if the order matters to you.
- Wireless-pad compatibility: Verify the pad-charging claim and any placement guidance in the exact model’s specifications or manual.
Should I get a battery case or a magnetic battery pack?
A battery case stays attached and is tailored to a particular phone model. A separate magnetic battery pack is a different format: you attach it when needed, but must check whether your phone and case support the relevant magnetic charging standard.

As one alternative, Samsung’s UK specifications for its Qi2 Magnet Wireless Battery Pack list Qi2-certified wireless output up to 15 W, wired output up to 25 W, typical capacity of 5,000 mAh, and rated capacity of 4,855 mAh. These are Samsung specifications, not independent test results; device performance depends on compatibility and conditions. Samsung says Galaxy devices need a Qi2-ready device or case for optimal Qi2 charging. Its UK guidance says Galaxy S/Z models released after S25 need a Qi2 Ready Magnet Case for Qi2 fast wireless charging. Check the exact handset, case, and regional product compatibility before buying. It depends on the battery case and the charging setup. The mophie product page says its Juice Pack can charge both phone and case on a Qi pad, while legacy manuals describe wireless charging for their named models. Do not generalize that behavior to every battery case: confirm that the specific case supports wireless input and follow its placement instructions.
