Start with the exact game edition and platform, then choose a wheel-and-pedal bundle whose specific model is licensed for that system. A wheel that works on PC may not work on PlayStation or Xbox, and even products in one hardware ecosystem can have platform-specific parts. After compatibility, weigh the whole setup: pedals, force-feedback features, mounting, space and upgrade options.
Check compatibility before comparing wheels
Write down the game, platform and connection method before shopping. Original Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione are different games; a compatibility statement for one does not establish support for the other. Also distinguish PC from PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series, and note whether you are playing through a native installation or a cloud/streaming service.

505 Games’ support article, modified September 12, 2023, covers console editions and lists supported products for PS4 and Xbox One. It says the console game works with officially licensed first-party wheels and pedals, and advises checking current compatibility with the manufacturer. That list should not be treated as a blanket guarantee for another game edition, console generation or streaming setup.
Check the manufacturer’s page for the exact product variant and platform. A family name alone is not enough: Logitech sells separate G923 PlayStation/PC and Xbox/PC models. Fanatec’s licensing rules are component-specific: PlayStation compatibility depends on a licensed wheelbase, while Xbox compatibility depends on a licensed steering wheel. Those rules describe Fanatec’s ecosystem, not every brand.

Compare the complete setup, not just the wheel
Once a candidate is compatible, compare the package you will actually receive and use. Confirm the included pedals, what adjustments are available, the manufacturer’s current force-feedback specifications, and which compatible parts can be added later. Check the total price at purchase rather than comparing wheelbase names alone; bundles and included pedals can differ.
- Pedals: Verify the number and type included, and whether a different pedal set can be added to the chosen ecosystem.
- Force feedback: Compare current specifications for the exact model and platform. Do not assume that a named feature or effect behaves identically across every game configuration.
- Mounting: A desk clamp may suit a casual setup if it fits the desk and stays stable. If the wheel or pedals shift during use, consider a stand or cockpit after checking dimensions and mounting compatibility.
- Space and noise: Check the product’s dimensions and the practical room needed to mount, use and store it. The cited compatibility information does not provide a like-for-like noise comparison.
- Upgrades: Check which wheels, pedals and other components are compatible with the base and platform you are buying for; ecosystem compatibility does not automatically mean console compatibility.
The available official pages establish compatibility details, not a tested performance or value ranking. They do not support declaring one of these paths the universal best choice.

Thrustmaster T300RS
The T300RS product page names Assetto Corsa and lists PC and PlayStation support. The 505 Games PS4 list includes several T150 and T300 variants, making the T300 family a plausible option to investigate for that console edition. Verify the exact T300 variant, target console generation and pedal bundle before buying. Thrustmaster’s product-page search excerpt also carries a force-feedback caveat for a listed configuration, so check the live page for the exact game and platform rather than assuming identical effects in every setup.
Logitech G923
The G923 listing describes a wheel-and-pedal package and identifies distinct PlayStation/PC and Xbox/PC versions. Choose the SKU for your platform, then confirm that your exact Assetto Corsa edition supports it. The product listing alone does not establish guaranteed support for every console generation or game edition.

Fanatec ecosystem
Fanatec may be worth considering if you want to build around compatible components over time. Its compatibility guide explains that PlayStation support relies on a licensed base and Xbox support on a licensed wheel. Confirm the license on each relevant component and verify the game’s support for the complete platform setup.
Use a final pre-purchase checklist
- Identify the target: Record the exact game—Assetto Corsa or Assetto Corsa Competizione—and the device you will play on.
- Match the exact product: Check the manufacturer’s current compatibility page for the model, SKU, platform and any required base or wheel licensing.
- Check the bundle: Confirm which pedals are included and whether the components you may want later fit that ecosystem.
