Choose a screen size that feels comfortable in your hand, then compare phones using battery tests that resemble how you use your phone. A large battery-capacity number alone cannot tell you how long a phone will last: display size and brightness, refresh rate, cellular signal, software, and workload all affect power use.
Start with the screen you can comfortably use
Screen size is a personal fit decision, not a battery-life rating. Manufacturers usually describe screen size by its diagonal, but that number does not tell you how wide or heavy a phone feels, where its buttons sit, or whether you can use it comfortably one-handed. If possible, handle a phone in person; also compare its overall dimensions and weight before buying.

For a concrete size reference, Motorola lists the Moto G 2026 with a 6.7-inch display in its US specifications. Consumer Reports’ September 2026 buying guide also refers to the Samsung Galaxy A57 as a 6.7-inch option, but the cited guide does not establish a model-specific battery-test result for it (Consumer Reports buying guide). Treat these as examples of screen size, not as recommendations for long battery life.

Battery capacity, commonly stated in milliamp-hours (mAh), is useful for comparing specifications, but it is not a direct measure of runtime. Phones draw power differently, and a larger display or higher brightness can increase consumption. Refresh rate, software, cellular reception, and what you do on the phone also matter. Samsung discusses display area and brightness as factors in power use in its battery guide; Tom’s Guide cautions that a higher-capacity battery does not always deliver longer runtime in practice (battery-test method).

When comparing results, first check what each tester actually measured:
- Consumer Reports: describes using a robot to mimic real-world smartphone use for its battery testing (buying guide).
- Tom’s Guide: describes a scripted web-browsing workload at 150 nits of brightness and tests phones at default and alternate refresh rates (test method).
These methods answer different questions, so do not combine their reported hours into a single ranking. Prefer comparisons made by the same outlet under the same test conditions, and look for a workload that resembles your own use. A web-browsing test is useful context, but it is not a promise of a particular number of hours for your day.

Match the test to your daily use
Think about the activities that most often drain your current phone. A person who mostly browses websites may find a web-browsing test more relevant than someone whose day is dominated by video, navigation, gaming, or calls. Check whether a test used a fixed brightness and which refresh-rate setting it used; results can change when those settings differ.
Manufacturer figures need the same care. Apple says battery life varies with use, configuration, cellular network, and signal strength. Its battery information should therefore be read alongside the stated test profile, not treated as a guarantee that every user will get the advertised hours.

Consider charging as a separate convenience
A phone that lasts longer between charges is different from one that charges faster. Decide whether your priority is fewer charging sessions, shorter charging stops, or both. Check the exact model’s supported charging standard and speed, and confirm whether a compatible charger is included in the box for the retailer and region where you will buy it.
Motorola lists up to 30W TurboPower charging for the Moto G 2026 and says maximum speed requires a compatible Motorola TurboPower charger rated at 30W or higher (Motorola specifications). That charging specification does not establish how long the phone lasts on a charge.

Use a practical shortlist before buying
Once you have found phones in your preferred size range, compare the details that affect everyday fit and ownership:
- Handling: screen dimensions, overall size, and weight—not diagonal size alone.
- Endurance: independent battery-test results from the same tester, under conditions close to your typical use.
- Settings: brightness and refresh rate used in the test, especially if you expect to keep a high refresh rate enabled.
- Charging: supported charging speed and whether the required charger is included in your region and at your chosen retailer.
- Long-term value: software-support terms, current local price, and availability for the exact model and regional version.
The available sources establish useful selection criteria and test methods, but they do not provide a comparable set of independent battery results across current large-screen phones. The Moto G 2026 specifications cited here establish its screen size and charging capability, not long-runtime performance. Do not treat either example as a battery-life winner without a relevant model-specific test.
