To choose a phone under ₹15,000, first confirm that the exact RAM-and-storage variant you want is currently available at or below your ceiling from a seller offering a valid warranty. Then compare phones against your main use—daily tasks, gaming, photos, battery life, or long-term updates—rather than picking by one headline specification. Prices and stock change quickly; the examples below are dated to October 2026.
Start with the exact price and variant
A model name is not enough to establish that a phone fits your budget. The same phone may be sold in several RAM and storage configurations, and only one may be priced below ₹15,000. Check the live listing for the exact configuration, seller, warranty terms, and final price before deciding. The Godealio guide to choosing a phone under ₹15,000 in India likewise recommends comparing the normal selling price and exact variant, rather than relying on an entry-level sibling version: Godealio’s 2026 buying guide.

Its separate 5G comparison, with prices last updated October 4, listed the iQOO Z10x at ₹13,267 for the 6GB RAM/128GB storage configuration. Choose by what you do most
For everyday use
Look for consistently responsive app use, enough usable storage for your photos and apps, a readable screen, and battery performance that suits your routine. A large RAM or storage figure by itself does not prove that a phone will feel fast: the chipset, software, and real-world behavior matter too. If possible, compare reviews that discuss routine use rather than relying on a specification sheet alone.

For gaming
Compare chipset performance and evidence about sustained play, including heat or stability, rather than assuming a phone will maintain high graphics settings because of a processor name or benchmark score. Screen quality and battery matter during longer sessions. Do not treat a general performance score as a promise of a particular frame rate or maximum graphics setting unless a relevant test supports that claim.
For photography
Look for sample photos from daylight and low-light scenes, plus video results and stabilization behavior if you record clips. Megapixels alone do not tell you how well a camera handles exposure, detail, color, or difficult lighting. If photography is your main priority, compare the actual results from the exact model rather than assuming a higher camera resolution means better pictures.

For battery life and charging
Battery capacity is only one clue. Look for endurance results and charging time or speed, since a larger milliamp-hour rating does not guarantee longer real-world battery life. The iQOO Z10x listing cited by Gadgets 360 specifies a 6,500mAh battery, but that figure alone does not establish how long it lasts in your usage.

Compare panel type, resolution, brightness, and refresh rate together. A higher refresh rate can make scrolling look smoother, but it cannot compensate for a screen that is hard to read outdoors or has low resolution. Consider audio quality as well if you regularly watch video or listen without headphones.

For longer ownership
Check the software policy for the exact model, and distinguish major Android/OS upgrades from security updates. Gadgets 360 reported that Samsung promised six years of OS upgrades and security updates for the Galaxy A16 5G; check the current commitment and its terms before buying, rather than assuming the same policy applies to other Samsung phones or variants. A 5G label is useful only if the phone supports the bands and network you need; it does not substitute for a clear update policy.
Use dated recommendations as starting points, not universal winners
Category-based picks can help narrow a search, but they reflect a publisher’s assessment at a particular time. In its roundup published July 6 and updated September 14, 2026, 91mobiles used the Ai+ Nova 2 as a battery example at ₹13,999, the Lava Virat V1 5G as a performance example at ₹13,499, the HMD Vibe 2 5G as a software example at ₹13,999, and the Infinix Smart 20 as a daily-use pick. These are that publication’s dated category selections, not guarantees that any one phone is best for every buyer or still sells at that price. 91mobiles says its reviews consider real-world use, benchmark performance, cameras in different lighting, battery, and software. The iQOO Z10x illustrates why a category or price label is not a complete verdict. Gadgets 360’s October 4, 2026 comparison listed its 6GB/128GB version at ₹13,267, with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300, 6,500mAh battery, and Android 15. The same review noted occasional stutters, weak low-light photos, and two years of software updates. That combination may appeal to someone weighing its listed hardware and battery capacity, but it is a less straightforward choice if low-light photography or longer update support is central to the decision. |---|---|---|
| Everyday use | Observed app responsiveness, usable RAM and storage, readability, and battery | RAM or storage figures alone do not establish overall speed. |
| Gaming | Chipset, sustained-use evidence, heat or stability, display, and battery | Avoid assuming maximum graphics or stable frame rates without a relevant test. |
| Camera | Daylight and low-light samples, stabilization, and video behavior | Megapixel count alone does not predict image quality. |
| Battery | Tested endurance and charging speed or time | Capacity alone does not guarantee longer real-world life. |
| Longevity | Exact-model OS and security update commitments, 5G support, and storage | Keep OS upgrades distinct from security patches; verify the policy for the exact model. |
| Display and media | Panel type, resolution, brightness, refresh rate, and audio needs | A higher refresh rate does not make up for low resolution or poor brightness. |
