Start with your phone’s exact model and variant, then check the case’s fit, published dimensions, weight, coverage and compatibility with the features you use. “Slim” is not a standard measurement, and a thin profile alone does not establish drop protection.
Start with the exact phone model
Choose a case made for your phone’s specific model and variant. Similar-looking phones can differ in camera layout, button placement, dimensions and ports, so a slim case for one device may not fit another.

Check the manufacturer’s compatibility statement, then compare the camera opening, buttons, ports and any side controls with your phone. For example, Samsung describes its Galaxy A18 Clear Case as designed exclusively for Galaxy A18. Spigen likewise lists distinct Thin Fit cases for Galaxy S24 models and iPhone 15.
Compare bulk using the listed measurements
Look for thickness, overall dimensions and weight on the product page. Treat each figure as a specification for the case unless the maker explicitly says it describes the phone with the case attached; a case’s stated thickness is not automatically the increase in thickness once fitted.

These listings do not establish a consistent cross-brand measurement method, so use the figures as maker-published specifications rather than a controlled comparison of which case is thinnest.
Check what the case covers
A slim profile does not tell you whether the case protects the areas you care about. Look for specific details such as raised edges around the screen and cameras, and consider how much of the phone’s sides and corners are covered. If a listing does not describe a coverage feature, do not assume it is present.

Protection language also needs context. Spigen cites its Air Cushion feature and drop-protection claims for Thin Fit cases; Incase lists an 8 ft drop-protection claim for its Galaxy S25 Ultra Slim Case; OtterBox’s Profile Series for Galaxy S26 Ultra cites a military drop-standard claim. Those are manufacturer statements, not independent test results established here. Compare the precise claim on the current listing rather than treating “slim” or a standard name as a guarantee.

Confirm charging and other feature compatibility
Check the exact case listing for the functions you rely on, including wireless charging, magnetic charging alignment, PowerShare, stylus use or accessory attachment. Compatibility for one case-and-phone combination does not prove compatibility for another. Spigen’s Galaxy S24 Thin Fit listing, for example, says wireless charging and PowerShare are compatible; that statement should not be generalized to other cases or devices.

Match the material and finish to your priorities
Manufacturer pages can help identify materials and surface treatments, but those descriptions are not long-term durability tests. Spigen lists polycarbonate (PC) and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) for its cited Thin Fit examples. Samsung describes its Galaxy A18 Clear Case as having scratch-resistant and anti-yellowing coatings. Consider whether transparency, grip and upkeep suit your use, and treat coating and durability language as the maker’s description.
