That means there is no evidence-based GTA 6 PC build to recommend yet. If GTA 6 is your reason for buying or upgrading, wait for Rockstar to announce PC availability and publish requirements; if you need a PC now, choose it for games you can play today and treat future GTA 6 compatibility as unconfirmed.
What Rockstar has—and has not—announced for PC
Rockstar’s GTA VI page lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and gives November 19, 2026 as the coming date. Rockstar Support’s platforms article, last updated August 18, 2026, says pre-orders are for those consoles. The official sources reviewed do not list a PC version or GTA VI PC requirements. This describes Rockstar’s current published information; it does not mean a PC version will never arrive.

Until Rockstar publishes PC details, no specific processor, graphics card, VRAM capacity, amount of memory, storage capacity, or PC release date can be presented as a GTA VI requirement. Claims that a particular build is “GTA 6 ready” are not confirmed by the official information available here.
Should you buy or upgrade a PC now for GTA 6?
If GTA 6 is the main reason for the purchase, wait. Buying an expensive graphics card or a whole system before PC requirements exist risks paying for performance you may not need—or buying hardware that does not match the eventual requirements.

If you need a PC before then, choose components based on games and work you need the machine to handle now. Check those games’ published requirements, decide on your budget and target resolution and frame rate, and consider whether you want to upgrade parts later. Do not count possible GTA VI compatibility as a reason to spend more: it remains unknown.
Why GTA V requirements cannot answer the GTA 6 question
Rockstar publishes PC specifications for Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced, but those figures apply to GTA V, not GTA VI. For example, GTA V Enhanced’s recommended specifications include an Intel Core i5-9600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor, 16 GB of dual-channel memory, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 with 8 GB VRAM or AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT with 8 GB VRAM. Rockstar lists them on its GTA V PC requirements page; they are not GTA VI recommendations and should not be used to size a GTA VI build.

Likewise, a higher-priced PC is not automatically a better-value GTA VI choice. Without official requirements or suitable performance testing, there is no grounded way to promise that a given CPU or GPU will deliver a particular resolution or frame rate in the game.

You can inventory your existing hardware now, then compare it with Rockstar’s GTA VI requirements if and when those are published. Rockstar’s PC compatibility help page recommends Windows DirectX Diagnostic Tool, or dxdiag. This check reports system details; it does not test GTA VI compatibility.

- Open the Windows Run dialog, enter
dxdiag, and press Enter. - On the System tab, note the operating system, processor, and memory.
- On the Display tab, note the graphics-card name and manufacturer, chip type, approximate video memory, and driver version and date.
- Save those details so you can compare them with Rockstar’s eventual PC requirements before deciding whether to replace the whole PC or upgrade one part.
Rockstar says current drivers are beneficial when running PC games. Updating a driver may help with games you can play now, but it cannot establish whether a system will run a game whose PC requirements have not been published.

When Rockstar announces a PC version and publishes requirements, compare them with your actual machine before shopping. Use the published figures and credible performance testing for your intended settings rather than treating minimum requirements as a promise of a particular experience.

- CPU and GPU: Check the processor and graphics card against the stated minimum and recommended levels.
- Memory and graphics memory: Compare system RAM and VRAM separately; one does not substitute for the other.
- Resolution and frame rate: Use targets only when Rockstar or reliable testing provides evidence for them. Do not infer a frame rate from a component’s price.
- Upgrade scope: Decide whether the current PC needs one compatible part or a full replacement. A whole new system is not automatically necessary.
- Total cost and upgradeability: Compare the full system price and the practicality of future upgrades, not just the cost of a headline graphics card.
Recheck Rockstar’s GTA VI page and support information for PC availability and requirements before committing money. Until those details appear, any GTA VI-specific parts list is speculation.
