To choose a laptop under ₹50,000, start with the apps and tasks you need to run, then compare the exact processor, memory and upgrade options, screen, storage, battery evidence, weight, ports and warranty on the specific configuration. A laptop that suits coursework and video calls may not suit sustained editing or specialist desktop software. Prices and configurations cited below are snapshots from 2026 articles, not live offers; verify the exact SKU, seller, stock and service terms before buying.
1. Start with your workload and required software
Write down what you will actually do: browse, prepare documents, attend video calls, study, program, edit photos or video, or use CAD. Everyday browser and office work usually asks less of a laptop than sustained creative or technical workloads. Check the software requirements before choosing a machine; in particular, confirm whether essential apps are available as desktop software on the operating system you plan to buy or can be used reliably in a browser.

This matters if you are considering ChromeOS. A Chromebook can suit browser-based study and everyday online work, but it is not a drop-in replacement for a Windows laptop when you depend on Windows desktop applications. Check compatibility for each required app, peripheral and workflow rather than choosing by price alone.

2. Compare the exact processor, not just Intel versus AMD
Processor names alone do not establish which laptop will perform better. Compare the full chip model and its power class, and consider the workload: a thin everyday laptop and a system built for sustained heavier processing can behave differently even at a similar price. The 91mobiles 2026 comparison notes differences between lower-power U-series processors and HS- or H-series parts. Its tested HS/H examples posted stronger benchmark results within that reviewed set; that is not a universal ranking of every Intel or AMD processor.

For context, 91mobiles reported Cinebench R23 multi-core scores of 9,393 for the Lenovo ThinkBook 16 with Ryzen 5 7535HS, 7,128 for the Chuwi CoreBook X Pro with Core i5-12450H, and 8,062 for the Lenovo ThinkPad E14 with Ryzen 5 7530U. These are that publication’s 2026 review results, not a guarantee of performance in every unit or a direct prediction of your apps’ speed. Review the exact processor in the configuration you can buy, and weigh performance against battery life, cooling, size and your actual use.
3. Choose enough RAM and check whether it can be upgraded
For browsing, documents and video calls, 8GB can work, but it may limit heavier multitasking and demanding applications. If your workload is likely to grow, compare 16GB configurations or check whether the laptop allows a later memory upgrade. Do not infer upgradeability from the brand or model family: it can vary by exact SKU and memory design.
For example, the 91mobiles review says its Lenovo ThinkBook 16 has two SO-DIMM slots, while the reviewed Acer Aspire 14 AI has soldered memory. Those details apply to the configurations reviewed; check the exact Indian SKU before treating either as a feature of every variant.

A 14-inch laptop can be easier to carry, while a 15.6-inch screen gives more room for documents and side-by-side windows. Size alone does not tell you whether the display is good: check the exact configuration’s resolution, panel type and brightness, especially if you work in bright rooms or spend long hours reading.
HT Tech’s April 2026 article describes the ASUS Vivobook Go 14 E1404FA-EB774WS as a 14-inch Full HD model weighing 1.38 kg, with a 42Wh battery. Digit’s 2026 list includes 15.6-inch options such as the ASUS Vivobook Go 15 and Acer Aspire Lite AL15-41. These descriptions are examples, not independent confirmation that the same variants remain available.

5. Compare storage, battery, ports and warranty
- Storage: Check both type and capacity. The listed examples commonly include SSDs, but capacity varies from 512GB to 1TB in the configurations described. Consider how much space your files and applications need.
- Battery: Treat a tested result and a manufacturer’s estimate as different kinds of evidence. In its 2026 comparison, 91mobiles used a PCMark 10 video-loop test at 80% brightness. It reported 15 hours 13 minutes for the Acer Aspire 14 AI under that method. That result can be compared with other results from the same test method, but it is not interchangeable with manufacturer estimates or battery figures measured under different conditions.
- Ports and connectivity: Check the exact SKU for the ports and wireless connectivity your monitor, storage, headset and other devices need. Do not assume that every configuration in a product family has the same selection.
- Warranty and service: Confirm the seller’s warranty terms, service availability where you live, and any conditions on support before paying. The cited listings do not independently establish current service terms.
6. Use reviewed examples as trade-offs, not a current ranking
The following figures come from 91mobiles’ review-time comparison published in 2026. Prices are historical review prices, not current quotations. Battery figures are the publication’s test results where a duration is given; its ASUS Chromebook CM32 figure is reported as a range. The configurations and results illustrate different compromises rather than a universal shortlist.
| Reviewed laptop and configuration | Battery result reported | Review-time price | What the comparison helps illustrate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lenovo ThinkBook 16 — Ryzen 5 7535HS, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD | 9:00 | ₹46,990 | 16GB memory and an HS-class processor within the cited comparison |
| Acer Aspire 3 A324-53 — Core i5-1334U, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD | 7:25 | ₹40,990 | A U-series processor with 16GB memory |
| Chuwi CoreBook X Pro — Core i5-12450H, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD | 4:46 | around ₹30,000 | An H-class processor at a lower review-time price, alongside a shorter reported battery result |
| Lenovo ThinkPad E14 — Ryzen 5 7530U, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD | 8:30 | ₹49,990 | A U-series processor and 8GB memory near the stated budget ceiling |
| MSI Modern 15 B12M — Core i3-1215U, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD | 6:15 | ₹36,990 | An 8GB configuration at a lower review-time price |
| Acer Aspire 14 AI — Snapdragon X X1-26-100, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD | 15:13 | ₹43,999 | A reviewed Snapdragon configuration with the longest reported battery result in this comparison |
| ASUS Chromebook CM32 — Kompanio 540, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage | 9–10 hours | ₹48,990 | A ChromeOS option with less listed storage than the Windows examples |
For the six timed results, 91mobiles used its PCMark 10 video-loop method at 80% brightness; the Chromebook duration is reported as 9–10 hours. The figures are useful only with those qualifications and the publication’s review-time configurations and prices. Check current pricing, configuration and test details rather than assuming these models still fit the same budget.
7. Treat current listing examples as leads to verify
Digit’s 2026 page lists the ASUS Vivobook Go 15 (2026) with Ryzen 3, 8GB RAM, 512GB storage and a 15.6-inch display at ₹49,390. The same page lists an Acer Aspire Lite AL15-41 with Ryzen 5 5500U, 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD at ₹37,990, and a Lenovo V14 G3 with Core i3, 8GB RAM and 512GB storage at ₹33,890. It also lists an HP 15 with Core i3-1315U and 16GB/512GB at ₹52,990, and an ASUS Vivobook 15 with Core i5-1334U and 16GB/512GB at ₹50,990—both above ₹50,000 in that snapshot. Digit’s list and accompanying prose are not fully aligned on every model or configuration, so confirm the exact SKU rather than combining specifications from separate variants. See Digit’s 2026 list.
HT Tech’s April 2026 article describes the ASUS Vivobook Go 14 E1404FA-EB774WS with Ryzen 5 7520U, 16GB LPDDR5, 512GB SSD, a 14-inch Full HD screen, 1.38 kg weight and 42Wh battery. It also describes an HP 15 with Core i3-1315U and 12GB/512GB; an Acer Aspire Lite AL15-41 with Ryzen 5 5625U and 16GB/512GB; a Lenovo V15 G4 with Ryzen 5 7520U and 16GB/512GB; and a Dell 15 with Core 3 100U and 8GB/512GB. These are article descriptions, not confirmation of present stock, price or regional SKU details. Read HT Tech’s April 2026 options.
8. A practical final check before you buy
- List your essential apps and tasks. Check operating-system compatibility before deciding between Windows and ChromeOS.
- Write down the exact configuration. Match processor model, RAM, storage and display to the seller’s specific SKU; do not rely on a family name alone.
- Check RAM expansion and ports. Confirm memory design and the connections your peripherals require.
- Compare battery evidence fairly. Prefer results tested using the same method and conditions, and distinguish them from manufacturer estimates.
- Verify the live deal. Recheck total price, seller, stock, warranty and local service terms against your ₹50,000 ceiling.
