Choose a G-SHOCK by checking the exact model’s case width, length and thickness, then assess how its shape and band sit on your wrist. There is no universal wrist-circumference cutoff that guarantees a particular model will fit: measurements help narrow the choice, while a try-on helps you judge comfort and appearance.
Compare the exact model’s dimensions
Start with the manufacturer’s measurements for the specific model and variant, not just a family name such as “2100.” Casio’s UK size guide lists the GMA-S2100 at 46.2 × 42.9 × 11.2 mm and the much larger GWG-B1000 at 61.2 × 54.4 × 16.1 mm. Those figures describe the watches; they do not guarantee how either will wear on an individual wrist. Casio’s G-SHOCK size guide

Even closely related variants can differ. Casio’s 2022 catalog lists the GMA-S2100 at 46.2 × 42.9 × 11.2 mm and the GM-S2100 at 45.9 × 40.4 × 11 mm. Confirm the dimensions for the precise model you are considering; Casio notes catalog specifications can change without notice. Casio’s GMA-S2100 / GM-S2100 catalog

Width indicates how much of the wrist the case may cover, but length and thickness also affect its visual presence and how it sits. Compare the case length with the visible top of your wrist, and consider whether a thick case feels comfortable when your wrist bends. Shape matters too: Casio describes the GD-B500’s oblong, angular design as intended not to interfere with the back of the hand. A hands-on try-on can show whether a particular case shifts or presses against your hand during movement. Casio Singapore’s GD-B500-7 product page

Check the band range and fit
Band adjustment ranges are specific to a model. Casio lists the GD-B500 band as adjustable from 145 to 200 mm; do not assume this range applies to other G-SHOCK watches. Check the product details for your exact model if band length is a concern. Casio Singapore’s GD-B500-7 product page
Once fastened, the band should be secure without squeezing your wrist. CASIO Support’s operating precautions for Module No. 5553 say: “There should be enough room between the band and your wrist so you can insert your finger.” The guidance also says, “Do not fasten the band too tightly.” Casio warns that tight fastening can cause sweating and make airflow difficult, potentially leading to skin irritation. Use a try-on to judge appearance and movement
Try it in person
If possible, fasten the watch and move your wrist naturally. Notice whether the case stays comfortable as you bend your hand, whether it catches or presses at the back of the hand, and whether the band can sit securely without being tight.
Compare models with Casio’s virtual try-on
Casio’s size guide offers a visualization tool: select a watch and choose “TRY IT ON!”, take wrist pictures, align the top of your wrist with the red line, adjust the dotted line to the bottom of the wrist, then position the watch image. This can help compare how different models look on your wrist, but it is a visual aid—not a guarantee of real-world comfort. Casio’s G-SHOCK size guide

Choose the presence you want
A compact case may suit you if you want less wrist coverage; a large case may be the point if you prefer a bold look. Neither choice is inherently more correct. Use the measurements to shortlist watches, then let the case’s proportions, comfort and your preferred appearance guide the final decision. Official sources do not provide a universal wrist-circumference threshold for choosing a G-SHOCK size, so avoid treating one number as a fit rule.
