These compositions describe the listed products, not a universal rule about how cotton or polyester feels. If softness, stretch, or a particular fiber matters, check the specific garment’s listing and sewn-in label.
Use the exact size chart for the hoodie
Youth sizing is not guaranteed to line up across brands. Under Armour lists a regular fit and provides a boys’ chart based on body measurements; adidas also calls its Adicolor hoodie regular fit. Eddie Bauer’s two examples list sizes from XXS (4) through XL (16), while Tommy Hilfiger’s listing shows kids’ sizes.

For the Under Armour style, use its product page and boys’ measurement chart; for other brands, use the chart attached to the product you are considering.
Judge warmth claims cautiously
Under Armour says the Armour Fleece hoodie has a soft inner layer that traps heat, and adidas identifies its Adicolor hoodie as fleece. Those descriptions can help explain the construction, but the retailer pages provide no comparable warmth rating or independent wear testing. Choose based on the garment’s stated materials and construction, and avoid treating a product description as proof that one hoodie will be warmer than another.

Follow the garment’s own care directions
Care instructions differ even among these examples. Under Armour specifies cold machine washing with like colors and tumble drying on low; adidas specifies warm machine washing inside out with like colors. Tommy Hilfiger lists the tie-dye hoodie as machine washable, while the Eddie Bauer examples specify cold machine washing, with the graphic style’s listing also saying to wash with like colors.
Follow the care label on the garment you buy: it is the relevant instruction for that item, and listing details may change.
