Choose based on the countries and networks your customers actually use, whether you need delivery in mainland China, how your content is cached, and the cost and support requirements of your workload. The available provider documentation supports a useful comparison of Amazon CloudFront, Alibaba Cloud CDN/DCDN, and CDNetworks—not a defensible seven-provider ranking.
Start with your audience, not a map of edge locations
“Asia” covers different routes, markets, and network conditions. Write down the countries you serve, then identify the mobile and fixed-line networks your customers use in each. East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Australia and New Zealand should not be treated as one performance region.

Mainland China is a separate decision. Do not assume that a provider’s Asian presence, or service-area coverage in a country, means the provider has a local point of presence there or that ordinary CDN service will meet your China delivery requirements. CDNPlanet’s June 17, 2026 directory treats China as a special coverage case; Alibaba Cloud’s DCDN documentation also distinguishes service areas from listed POP locations.
Compare the three providers with documented details
The comparison below reflects provider-published coverage and billing descriptions, not independent performance tests. A listed POP establishes a provider’s stated network presence; it does not establish latency, reliability, cache-hit rate, or price for your traffic.

| Provider | Asia coverage established by the cited documentation | China and coverage caveats | Cache and billing details established | What remains to verify |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Amazon CloudFront | AWS lists POPs in Hong Kong; several cities in India; Jakarta; Osaka and Tokyo; Kuala Lumpur; Manila; Singapore; Seoul; Taipei; Bangkok; and Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. AWS describes POPs, regional edge caches, and embedded POPs. | The cited CloudFront features page does not establish China eligibility or prerequisites. | AWS documents Origin Shield in selected regions including Mumbai, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo. It recommends selecting a region with the lowest latency to the origin. The cited pages do not establish a workload-specific billing comparison. | Test performance from your users’ networks; check current China service conditions, pricing, request and security charges, and support terms. |
| Alibaba Cloud CDN and DCDN | Alibaba Cloud’s DCDN POP distribution, updated April 29, 2026, lists Asia Pacific 1 locations including Hong Kong, Tokyo/Osaka, Singapore, Bangkok, Manila, and Kuala Lumpur; Asia Pacific 2 includes Jakarta, Surabaya, Batam, Seoul, and Pakistan; Asia Pacific 3 includes Sydney and Melbourne. | Alibaba Cloud lists applicable service areas separately from POPs. A country or area listed as served does not necessarily have a local POP. The cited material does not establish China service eligibility or prerequisites for a particular customer. | Alibaba Cloud documents pay-as-you-go and prepaid resource plans, geographic billing groups, and transfer or peak-bandwidth billing rules. CDN and DCDN have distinct billing documentation. Reference prices are subordinate to the current pricing page. | Confirm which product fits your workload, the precise service area and local POP situation, current regional rates, add-ons, and any China requirements. |
| CDNetworks | CDNetworks’ network map lists POP cities across Southeast Asia and says its deployment covers all ASEAN member countries. | The cited network map does not establish China eligibility, prerequisites, or local coverage details for a specific country. | The cited map does not establish comparable cache controls, billing units, or current regional prices. | Confirm the exact locations and service conditions relevant to your audience, then request pricing and test against your traffic. |
Coverage statements in this table come from AWS documentation accessed October 7, 2026; Alibaba Cloud’s DCDN POP page updated April 29, 2026, and billing pages updated April 1 and August 14, 2026; and CDNetworks’ network map accessed October 7, 2026. These dates identify the documentation, not a guarantee that coverage or terms will remain unchanged.
Use other provider names as a shortlist, not as a ranking
CDNPlanet’s directory, last updated June 17, 2026, lists 23 networks with Asian edge locations, including Cloudflare, Fastly, Tencent Cloud, and CloudFront. It is useful for finding candidates, but it is not a performance test or current pricing source. The directory does not supply enough provider-specific detail here to compare Cloudflare, Fastly, or Tencent Cloud on China conditions, billing, cache behavior, security, or support. Add candidates that fit your market, then verify those points directly rather than inferring them from directory presence.

Match the service to your content and origin
Static sites and downloads
For cacheable images, scripts, software downloads, and other static files, check how each provider handles cache keys, TTLs, invalidation, compression, and query strings. Test with representative object sizes and cache headers: a nearby POP is useful only if the requested object can be served from cache as intended.

APIs and dynamic pages
For dynamic traffic, confirm which requests can be cached safely and how the CDN handles uncached requests, connection reuse, and origin routing. A CDN can reduce the time to reach an edge without making an origin-bound request fast; test with your actual origin location and application behavior.

Video and large media
For streaming or large file delivery, evaluate sustained throughput, range requests, cache efficiency, and the cost of delivery by region. A general POP list does not establish performance under a video workload.
Origin Shield and origin location
CloudFront’s Origin Shield adds a regional cache layer between edge locations and the origin. AWS lists Mumbai, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo among its available regions and recommends choosing a region with the lowest latency to the origin, including guidance for origins outside AWS. Whether this reduces origin load or total cost depends on cache behavior and traffic patterns; measure it rather than assuming an extra cache layer is beneficial.
Rank #4
- 8 GIGABIT PORTS: Features 8 RJ45 ports supporting 10/100/1000 Mbps speeds, providing high-speed wired network connectivity for computers, printers, gaming consoles, and other Ethernet-enabled devices
- PLUG AND PLAY SETUP: No configuration required; simply connect the switch to your network devices and it is ready to use immediately, making network expansion quick and hassle-free

- TRAFFIC OPTIMIZATION: Supports IEEE 802.3x flow control and advanced traffic optimization technology to reduce data bottlenecks and ensure smooth, efficient data transfer across your network
Calculate the full cost, not just transfer rates
Ask each provider for a price estimate using the same traffic profile and geographic mix. Include the billable units that apply to your configuration, not just a headline bandwidth rate.
- Data transfer by destination region and any minimum commitments or prepaid credits.
- Requests, invalidations, and other usage-based charges.
- Security services, advanced routing, logging, support, and optional cache features.
- Origin egress charges and any fees incurred when the CDN fetches from your origin.
- Tax, currency, contract term, and the treatment of traffic spikes.
Alibaba Cloud documents both pay-as-you-go and prepaid resource plans, as well as geographic billing groupings and transfer or peak-bandwidth billing rules. Its billing documentation warns that reference prices are subordinate to the current pricing page. Compare current quotes for the same regions, service configuration, and recurring traffic pattern; do not treat an old example price as a guaranteed rate.

Run a workload-specific trial
- Choose representative locations. Select target countries and user networks, including mobile and fixed-line connections where they matter. Include mainland China as a separate test only if it is in scope and you have confirmed that the service can be used there.
- Use real content and origin conditions. Test representative static, dynamic, or video requests against the origin location and configuration you expect to run in production.
- Check cache behavior. Inspect response headers and cache logs, and test both cold and warm requests. Record the cache-hit ratio and verify that cache rules do not serve user-specific or stale content incorrectly.
- Measure service quality. Compare p50 and p95 latency, errors, throughput where relevant, and origin load across the same locations and time windows. Repeat tests enough to distinguish consistent behavior from a single favorable sample.
- Reconcile performance with cost and operations. Estimate the bill from the measured traffic mix, then review support coverage, escalation paths, configuration workflow, and how quickly your team can diagnose delivery problems.
No cross-provider benchmark is established by the cited sources. Your own trial is therefore the relevant evidence for whether a provider performs and costs well for your audience.
Quick Recap
Make the decision by elimination
- Remove providers that cannot serve the countries or customer networks you need.
- If mainland China is required, confirm eligibility and prerequisites directly before comparing regional performance.
- Keep options whose cache and routing controls fit your content and origin setup.
- Compare current, fully scoped costs—including security, support, and origin egress—not just transfer pricing.
- Choose from measured results and operational fit, not POP counts or a blanket claim that one network is fastest across Asia.
