Choose a 1440p QD-OLED gaming monitor by matching its refresh rate to the games and PC you actually use, then compare HDR certification, connectivity, setup fit, OLED-care features, and the warranty for your exact model and region. Current manufacturer examples range from 280Hz to 500Hz at 2560×1440; those maximum specifications do not mean your system will reach that frame rate in every game.
Start with the refresh rate your games and PC can use
At 2560×1440, the models below show three manufacturer-listed maximum refresh tiers: 280Hz, 360Hz, and 500Hz. Higher refresh can be a useful priority for competitive games if your system can deliver high frame rates and you value that focus. It is not automatically the best choice for every player: compare the refresh tier with your GPU output, game mix, HDR priorities, warranty, and budget.

These are manufacturer specifications, not independent comparative test results or a comprehensive market ranking. The advertised 0.03ms GtG response figures are also vendor specifications; they should not be treated as a substitute for a complete motion-performance test. A 500Hz label describes a maximum monitor refresh rate, not a frame rate your PC is guaranteed to produce.
When 280Hz or 360Hz is a sensible target
Consider the 280Hz and 360Hz options if you play a mix of genres, do not expect your system to sustain extremely high frame rates, or would rather weigh HDR and warranty alongside refresh. The specifications alone do not establish which tier a particular player will prefer.

When to consider 500Hz
A 500Hz model is worth considering if competitive titles are your priority, your hardware and chosen settings can support high frame rates, and the extra refresh aligns with your preferences. This is a use-case recommendation based on the available specification range, not a claim of independently measured superiority or a guaranteed visible benefit for every user.
Compare HDR badges without treating them as brightness tests
The listed models carry DisplayHDR True Black 400 or True Black 500 certifications. MSI lists True Black 400 for the MPG 271QRX and MAG 271QP X28, and True Black 500 for the MAG 272QP X50. Samsung lists True Black 500 for the Odyssey OLED G6 G60SF. These labels distinguish the manufacturers’ listed certifications, but they do not by themselves establish identical measured brightness or real-scene HDR quality.

Before buying, confirm that the exact monitor SKU, your GPU output, and the cable or connection you plan to use support your intended resolution and refresh combination. The cited product pages do not establish a complete, directly comparable port-and-cable requirement across all four models, so there is no universal connection recommendation to infer from these specifications.

Read the OLED-care and burn-in warranty terms for your region
Warranty coverage is model- and region-specific, and its exclusions matter. MSI says the cited OLED monitors have three-year coverage that includes burn-in; its MPG 271QRX page uses the wording “OLED 3-Year Burn-In Warranty.” MSI warranty announcement Samsung’s UK Odyssey OLED G6 page says burn-in under normal use is covered within the warranty, while excluding commercial use, abuse, or misuse. Samsung UK warranty wording
Those statements do not establish the terms for every country, seller, or SKU. Read the full local warranty policy and exclusions before purchase. The manufacturers describe OLED-care or protection features, but the cited material does not quantify burn-in probability for a particular usage pattern. If your screen will show static desktop elements for long stretches, include those care features and the applicable warranty in your decision.

Use a short checklist to choose between models
- Set your use case: Decide whether competitive-game refresh or a broader balance of gaming priorities matters most.
- Pick a refresh tier: Compare 280Hz, 360Hz, and 500Hz against the frame rates your hardware and games can support; do not treat the monitor’s maximum as a system guarantee.
- Assess HDR independently: Note the listed certification, then consult independent testing if real-scene HDR behavior is important to you.
- Confirm compatibility and fit: Check the exact SKU’s ports, supported signal combinations, stand, VESA details, and dimensions against your setup.
- Verify warranty terms: Confirm the regional policy, burn-in wording, exclusions, and OLED-care features for the model you will actually buy.
The four models in the comparison illustrate the available specification range; the cited official pages do not establish current prices, stock, or side-by-side independent results for text clarity, brightness, motion, uniformity, or long-term burn-in.
