To check a physical SUBE card and apply a pending electronic top-up, open the SUBE app on a compatible Android phone and choose “Acreditá o consultá saldo” → “Ver saldo”, then hold the card against the back of the phone. The app displays the card balance and can accredit a pending load. This NFC function requires Android 6 or newer and an NFC-capable phone. If you cannot use it, check the balance on Mi SUBE, at a Terminal Automática SUBE, by phone, or at a SUBE service center; a terminal or an equipped bus can also accredit a load.
Why a top-up payment may not appear on your card yet
An electronic load bought through the SUBE app, a bank, an ATM, or a digital wallet has two stages: payment and accreditation. A payment receipt confirms the purchase, but the value is not necessarily available on the physical card until it is presented to a compatible device. SUBE says its system works offline, so the card must be read by a phone with NFC, a terminal, or a participating bus validator to write the load onto the card. See SUBE’s electronic-load explanation.

For a clear confirmation, check the balance on the card after accreditation. If it has increased by the pending amount, the load has been applied. A successful payment alone does not confirm that step.
Check the balance and accredit a load with the app
- Open the official SUBE app on an Android phone with NFC.
- Choose “Acreditá o consultá saldo”, then “Ver saldo.”
- Place the physical card against the back of the phone and keep it there while the app reads it.
- Review the displayed balance. If a load is pending, follow the app’s prompt to accredit it, then read the card again to confirm the updated balance.
SUBE’s official app guidance specifies Android 6 or newer and NFC for physical-card functions. App labels may vary across pages or versions; some official instructions refer to the action simply as “Acreditá” or “Acreditar cargas.” Check the official SUBE app information for current compatibility details.

Current load and balance limits
Argentina.gob.ar / SUBE guidance published in July 2026 sets a maximum of ARS 30,000 per electronic-load transaction and a maximum stored balance of ARS 40,000 on the physical card. If loads would take the balance over that ceiling, the excess remains pending and can be accredited as stored-value capacity becomes available. SUBE’s FAQ says the balance does not expire.

An older official notice from July 2024 cited a lower ceiling for loads accredited at terminals or through Carga a Bordo, while app accreditation could reach ARS 40,000. The July 2026 guidance states the current general physical-card maximum as ARS 40,000; do not treat the older figure as the present limit.

If the balance still looks wrong
- Verify which card you loaded. SUBE says a load sent to the wrong card is not refundable.
- Accredit the load if payment succeeded but the balance did not change. Read the card with NFC, use a Terminal Automática SUBE, or use Carga a Bordo if available on your bus.
- Check the card itself again. Mi SUBE website information may take up to 24 hours to update, so an immediate web display is not conclusive.
- Keep the payment receipt. If the amount remains wrong after accreditation, contact 0800-777-SUBE (7823), option 4, or visit a service center.
- If a registered card is lost before accreditation, associate a replacement card. SUBE says the pending load is credited after the previous balance transfer.
SUBE’s official guidance says electronic loads do not expire. Consult the official FAQ for current support instructions.
