What you need before checking
The online warranty view is tied to your Samsung Account and the product registration associated with that account. Have these items ready:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- The Samsung Account email address and password used to register the phone.
- The Galaxy’s model number, serial number, or IMEI. You may need one of these if the phone is not listed or if you request service.
- Your receipt, carrier invoice, or other proof of purchase in case Samsung asks you to correct the warranty date.
- Access to the phone, its original packaging, or the purchase records if you need to identify the device.
This procedure describes Samsung’s US support experience. A phone first sold in another country can have different eligibility and service limits, even when you are using it in the United States.
Check the warranty date through Samsung My Products
Samsung’s primary online route is the product dashboard in your Samsung Account. The labels can change slightly as Samsung updates its site, but the sequence is the same.

- Open Samsung Support US. Go to Samsung’s Request Repair and Check Repair Status page or the US support site.
- Sign in. Select the account or sign-in control in the upper-right area and enter the Samsung Account credentials associated with your phone. Samsung describes this sign-in as the way to check warranty status.
- Open My Products. After signing in, choose My Products from your account area. Samsung says warranty information for registered products appears with the product record.
- Select the Galaxy phone. If you own several Samsung products, match the phone by its model, nickname, serial number, or IMEI rather than selecting a different device.
- Read the warranty information. Review the displayed status and date, along with any device details Samsung shows. Treat the information as applying to that particular registered product, not to every Galaxy phone on your account.
If the phone is listed, this account view is the official starting point for determining what Samsung has on file. It is not necessary to buy anything or visit a store merely to view the registered-product information.
If your Galaxy does not appear in My Products
An absent phone usually means it has not been registered to that Samsung Account, it was registered under another account, or the account record does not match the product information. Samsung’s published directions point to product registration rather than promising a public IMEI-only lookup page.
Register the phone
- From your Samsung Account or the US support site, open Samsung’s product-registration flow.
- Follow the on-screen prompts for a mobile device. Samsung may ask for the model, serial number, or IMEI and other ownership details.
- Enter the information exactly as it appears on the phone, packaging, or purchase documentation. A single incorrect character can associate the record with a different product or prevent registration.
- Submit the registration and return to My Products to see whether the Galaxy has been added.
Registration screens and required fields can change. Follow the instructions currently displayed by Samsung rather than relying on an old screenshot or a third-party form. If the phone was registered to a different Samsung Account, sign in to that account or contact Samsung for help moving or correcting the record.

Samsung’s US guidance explains how to check registered products in an account, but it does not promise that anyone can enter an IMEI into a public warranty form and receive a definitive result. If registration fails, use Samsung Support with the device information and proof of purchase instead of treating an unofficial lookup site as authoritative.

These identifiers help Samsung match your request to the correct phone. Keep them available before starting registration or a repair request.

Display the IMEI on the phone
Open the phone app and dial *#06#. Samsung’s US service page identifies this as a way to display the IMEI. Depending on the model and software, the number may also appear in the device settings under an information or phone-status section.
Check the packaging and purchase records
Samsung lists the original device packaging, the carrier account, and the bill of sale as possible places to find identifying information. The label on the box may include more than one number, so compare the model and IMEI with the phone itself whenever possible.

Use the identifier that Samsung requests
Do not substitute a serial number for an IMEI, or one IMEI for another, when a form asks for a specific field. Dual-SIM models can display more than one IMEI. If Samsung asks for a particular IMEI, provide the one associated with the affected line or slot and retain the other for your records.
Correct an inaccurate warranty date
A date in My Products can be wrong when Samsung’s record was calculated from an incomplete registration, a carrier transaction, or information that does not reflect your actual purchase. The correction route is built into the product record.
- Sign in to the Samsung Account that contains the Galaxy.
- Open My Products and select the affected phone.
- Choose Review Warranty.
- Upload the proof of purchase Samsung requests. A receipt, carrier invoice, or bill of sale should clearly connect the phone to the purchase date and seller.
- Submit the review and keep the confirmation or case details. Samsung will assess the documentation and determine whether the recorded date can be updated.
Use a legible, complete document. Before uploading, check that the model or IMEI, transaction date, and seller information are visible if they appear on the original record. Avoid uploading unrelated personal documents. If Samsung asks for additional evidence, provide only what its support process requests.

The Review Warranty process is a request for Samsung to verify the date; it is not an automatic extension of coverage. Until Samsung confirms a correction, treat the date currently shown in the account as the status on file and ask support how a pending review affects a repair request.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteStandard warranty and Samsung Care+ are different
A Galaxy can have a standard limited warranty record and, separately, an optional Samsung Care+ plan. Samsung Care+ is not automatically included with every phone and should not be treated as the standard warranty.
| Coverage record | Where to check or start a claim | What determines eligibility |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung standard limited warranty | Samsung Account → My Products; use Review Warranty when the recorded date needs evidence-based correction. | The product record, applicable warranty terms, purchase history, and the country where the device was first sold. |
| Samsung Care+ | The separate Care+ coverage and claim route identified by Samsung for the plan. | Whether a Care+ plan was enrolled, the plan’s own terms, and the event and location rules that apply to that plan. |
If you bought or enrolled in Care+, check that plan’s status and claim instructions separately. Seeing a standard warranty entry in My Products does not prove that a Care+ plan exists, and a Care+ record does not replace the standard warranty record.
What a non-US purchase means for a US check
Samsung’s US warranty information warns that service for products first sold outside the United States may be limited to the country of first sale. A US account page can therefore show a product while local repair eligibility, turnaround, or cost remains different from a US-sold model.
If the phone was purchased abroad, contact Samsung before shipping it for service. Tell support where it was first sold, where you are now located, and whether the phone has been modified or repaired. Ask which service center can handle that model and whether an international repair would involve additional cost or delay. Do not infer worldwide coverage from the fact that the Galaxy appears in your account.

For a US-purchased phone, keep the original US purchase evidence available if Samsung asks you to validate the date. For an imported phone, keep both the foreign receipt and any import or carrier documentation that identifies the device.
Use the warranty result when requesting service
Warranty status is one part of a service decision. Samsung may still need to identify the device, confirm the failure, and determine whether the issue falls within the applicable terms. Have the model, serial number, or IMEI ready when you open a repair request.
- Record the status and date shown for the correct Galaxy in My Products.
- Back up personal data and remove accounts or security locks if Samsung’s service instructions tell you to do so. Follow the instructions for your model before shipping or handing over the phone.
- Describe the fault accurately, including when it began and any troubleshooting already attempted. Do not describe accidental damage as a manufacturing fault.
- Attach the proof of purchase if Samsung requests it, especially when the displayed date is disputed.
- Use Samsung’s repair-status tools to track the request after submission. Keep the service or case number until the phone is returned.
A warranty record does not guarantee a free repair for every problem. Samsung must apply the terms that belong to the product and the reported condition, and imported products can have additional geographic restrictions.

The sign-in page keeps returning to the login screen
- Confirm that you are using the Samsung Account associated with the phone, not a different email address.
- Complete any verification prompt Samsung displays and retry from the US support site.
- If you manage several accounts, open each account’s My Products list rather than registering the phone repeatedly.
The product is listed but the model looks wrong
Compare the model and IMEI shown in the account with the values on the phone and its packaging. Stop before requesting service if they do not match; contact Samsung so the account record can be corrected instead of submitting a claim for the wrong device.
The warranty date is earlier than the purchase date
Open Review Warranty from the product entry and upload the purchase evidence. Include the document that best ties the phone to the actual transaction. Samsung, rather than the account owner, makes the final determination about changing the date.

The phone cannot be registered
Re-enter the model, serial number, or IMEI carefully and follow the current registration prompts. Check the box label, carrier account, and bill of sale for a conflicting identifier. If the phone was bought outside the US, tell Samsung where it was first sold when requesting assistance.
You need an answer but cannot access the account
Use Samsung’s support and repair page directly and provide the device identifiers and purchase documentation when requested. Avoid posting an IMEI publicly or sending it to an unofficial warranty-lookup service.
Privacy and record-keeping tips
- Keep a private copy of the receipt, the phone’s identifiers, and any Samsung case number.
- Share an IMEI or serial number only through Samsung’s authenticated support or repair workflow.
- When photographing a receipt, make the purchase date, seller, and device information readable while excluding unrelated payment details when the form allows.
- Do not publish screenshots of My Products that expose your email address, IMEI, address, or service number.
- After a warranty-date review, save Samsung’s response so you can reference the corrected record during a later repair request.
