Check your PlayStation Store wallet balance on the web, PS5, PS4, or PlayStation App before you buy. The menu path depends on your device; once you reach checkout, wallet funds are applied first, and another payment method can cover any remaining amount.

Will your wallet cover the game?
At checkout, PlayStation Store uses available wallet funds first. If the balance does not cover the full purchase, you can pay the remaining amount with another payment method. Some subscriptions may require a payment method on the account even when wallet funds are used. See Sony’s wallet guidance for details.

A child account does not have its own wallet and cannot add funds to one. Eligible purchases use the family manager’s wallet and are subject to the child account’s spending limit. Sony says the limit defaults to zero when the child account is created. See Sony’s payment-method and account guidance.

If you need to add funds
Sony says wallet funds can be added with an accepted payment method or a PlayStation Store gift card (voucher code). Accepted methods vary by country or region, so check the page for your account region rather than assuming US options are available everywhere. Sony’s US page lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, and Cash App Pay; availability can change. Consult PlayStation’s accepted payment methods for current regional information.
