There is no universal Google page that lists every account associated with a phone number. The reliable approach is to use the number on a Google sign-in screen, then inspect the phone settings in every account you can access. On Android, Google also documents a limited new-device flow that can identify accounts associated with the device’s verified mobile number.
What you can and cannot find
A phone number can be attached to a Google Account for several different reasons. It may work as an alternative sign-in identifier, serve as a recovery phone, appear in a particular Google service, or be verified automatically on an Android device. Those uses are related, but they are not the same setting.

Google’s documented tools work account by account. They can confirm accounts you are able to open and, in specific Android circumstances, help identify an account on a new device. Google does not document a public reverse-lookup tool that accepts any phone number and reveals every Google Account connected to it.

That distinction matters when you are trying to find an old Gmail address, checking whether a number remains attached after changing phone numbers, or investigating an unfamiliar account. A failed lookup does not prove that an account never existed: the number might not be enabled for sign-in, might have been removed, or might be used only by another Google service.

Method 1: Test the number on a Google sign-in screen
This is the quickest way to check whether your number can act as a sign-in name for an account.
- Open a Google sign-in page on a device you control.
- In the field labeled Email or phone number, enter your full phone number. Use the format Google accepts for your region, including the country code if the form requests it.
- Select Next.
- If the number is attached to an account and phone-number sign-in is available for that account, continue with the normal sign-in process. Google may ask for the password, a verification code, or another security check.
- After signing in, note the account’s email address. Then inspect its phone settings using the steps in the next section.
Google states that you may sign in to a Google Account with its phone number on any sign-in screen containing an “Email or phone number” field. If the page says Couldn’t find your Google Account, Google says the phone number might not be connected to that account. Treat that as a result for this particular sign-in attempt, not as proof that the number has never been associated with any Google Account.
Method 2: Inspect the phone number in each account
Once you can open an account, check the account-level phone page. This shows whether Google currently stores the number and, where available, which Google services use it.
- Open Google Account from the account menu or account settings.
- Select Personal info.
- Under contact information, select Phone.
- Review the number shown on the page. Select it to see the available options for changing or deleting it.
- Look for the Usage section. Google says this can show some services that use the number.
- Record the account’s email address and the role shown for the number before moving to the next account.
The Phone page is the best place to verify the number at the account level, but it may not be a complete inventory of every service-specific setting. Some Google products manage contact details separately, so a number can remain in use by a service even when it is not presented as the account’s general phone number.

How to check several accounts you already use
Repeat the sign-in and settings check for every Google Account you recognize. In a browser, select your profile picture and switch accounts, then open Google Account > Personal info > Phone for each one. On a phone, use the account switcher in a Google app or in Android’s account settings, making sure you inspect the account currently selected rather than assuming all accounts share the same phone settings.
Keep a simple private list of the email address, whether the number appears, and the displayed usage. This avoids confusing a recovery phone in one account with a sign-in phone in another.
Method 3: Check the recovery-phone setting separately
A phone can be used for account recovery even when you do not use it as a sign-in name. To check that role:

- Select Security.
- Under How you sign in to Google, select Recovery phone.
- Confirm whether the number is listed, and review the controls for changing or removing it.
A recovery phone can receive account-reset codes, help Google verify that you own the account, block some unauthorized access attempts, and receive alerts about suspicious activity. Removing it from the recovery-phone screen does not necessarily remove the same number from other Google services; check the Personal info > Phone page and any service-specific settings as well.

Method 4: Use Android’s new-device account identification flow
Android provides a narrower way to identify an account when you have replaced or lost a device. Google documents this path for adding an account on a new Android device:
- Open the Android Settings app.
- Go to Accounts (the wording can appear as Passwords & accounts or a similar account-management label on some devices).
- Select Add account.
- Choose Google and follow the on-screen sign-in instructions.
Under Google’s stated sign-in conditions, the mobile phone number can allow the device to identify an account automatically. This is not a general web lookup and does not promise to display every account ever connected to the number. It is an account-recovery and setup aid tied to the Android device and the number’s verification status.
Why the same number can appear in different places

Seeing a number in one row does not automatically mean it is enabled for every other role. For example, a recovery phone may not work as a username, and a service-specific contact number may not appear as the account’s recovery phone.

Google says phone-number verification on Android is on by default. When verified numbers are available, Google can add them to all Google Accounts signed in on that device, including accounts added later. Google also says that, when phone-number verification is on, Google and the carrier may periodically verify the phone numbers.

This behavior explains why a number can appear in more than one account after you sign in to several accounts on the same Android phone. It also means that removing a number from one account’s visible setting may not answer whether another account on the device has a verified copy. Inspect each account individually, and review Android’s account and phone-verification controls if you do not want the device to continue sharing the number with accounts added in the future.

The sign-in page says “Couldn’t find your Google Account”
- Check the digits and country code, then try again.
- Make sure you are using the number that was active when the account was created or last updated.
- Try the email-address recovery or other account-recovery option you normally use instead of relying on phone-number sign-in.
- Remember that the number may be present only as a recovery phone or service contact, not as a sign-in identifier.
The number appears in Personal info but not as a recovery phone
That usually means the number is stored for another account function or service. Check the Usage section and the separate recovery-phone setting rather than deleting it immediately.
You removed the recovery phone but still see the number
Google notes that deleting a recovery phone may not remove the number from other Google services. Recheck Personal info > Phone, then open the settings of any listed service that still uses it.

You recently changed carriers or phone numbers
A number change can leave the old number in one account while the new number is added to another. Check every account you can access, remove numbers you no longer control, and set a current recovery method before closing the settings page.
You no longer have the Android device
The Android new-device flow depends on Google’s sign-in and verification conditions. If automatic identification does not occur, use the account’s email address or Google’s normal account-recovery process. A failed automatic match is not evidence that no account used the number.
How to remove a number safely
Do not delete a phone number from an account until you have another way to sign in and recover it. Before removing it, verify that the account has a current password, a usable recovery email if available, and another security method that you recognize.
- Open Google Account > Personal info > Phone and identify every listed use.
- Open Security > How you sign in to Google > Recovery phone and replace the recovery number first if it is still needed.
- Return to the Phone page and use the remove or delete control only after another recovery path works.
- Check any service listed under Usage for a separate contact or verification setting.
- Repeat the review for your other Google Accounts, especially accounts signed in on the same Android device.
If you are giving away or resetting an Android phone, remove accounts from the device and complete the device’s reset procedure. This prevents the next user from inheriting an active signed-in session, but it does not by itself remove the phone number from each Google Account; account settings still need to be checked separately.

Only check numbers and accounts that you own or are authorized to manage. Google’s account-by-account design limits exposure of account identities: knowing a phone number is not supposed to provide an unrestricted list of other people’s Google Accounts. Avoid websites or apps that promise a complete reverse lookup and ask for your password, verification code, or access to your phone.
Never share a Google verification code with someone who contacts you unexpectedly. If you receive an unrequested code or a suspicious sign-in alert, change the affected account’s password, review recent security activity, and confirm that the recovery phone and other sign-in methods are yours.

Bottom line
Start with a Google sign-in screen, then verify every accessible account at Personal info > Phone and Security > Recovery phone. Use Android’s Settings > Accounts > Add account flow when setting up a replacement device. These checks reveal the accounts and uses you can legitimately access, but Google does not provide a public, universal list of every account ever linked to a phone number.
