“6 Series” alone can’t confirm whether your Samsung TV supports AirPlay. Check the TV for an Apple AirPlay Settings menu, then verify its full model code and sales region against Samsung’s compatibility information. Samsung lists some 2018 and 2019 4K UHD TVs as compatible, but support depends on the specific model.
Check the TV’s settings for AirPlay
- Open the TV’s settings. Select Settings or All Settings.
- Look for Apple AirPlay Settings. Samsung’s documented path is General > Apple AirPlay Settings. On some 2022–2023 models, the option is under Connection instead. Menu names and placement can vary by model and software version.
- If the menu is present, check that AirPlay is enabled. The settings may also show pairing or code options.
A missing menu is not, by itself, a definitive compatibility verdict: confirm the exact model and check its applicable software before drawing a conclusion.

Find the full model code and year
Use the complete model code—not just the “6 Series” label—to identify the TV. Look on the product label or in the TV’s About or support information. Model code and sales region matter because Samsung’s compatibility information applies to specific TV families and markets.

Samsung UK Support’s How to use AirPlay 2 with Samsung TV, updated 7 January 2025, says AirPlay is available on specific Samsung TVs and monitors produced from 2018 onward. Its compatible families include some 2018 and 2019 4K UHD TVs; it does not establish that every 6 Series model is supported. Check the exact code against Samsung’s list for your region.

Try AirPlay from an Apple device
Once you’ve confirmed the TV is compatible and AirPlay is on, connect from the Apple device:
- Connect the TV and Apple device to the same network, if required by your setup.
- On an iPhone or iPad, open Control Center and choose Screen Mirroring. Samsung’s US guide describes this route for mirroring an iPhone to a supported TV.
- Select the Samsung TV. Enter the code shown on the TV if prompted.
On a Mac, use its AirPlay controls to select the TV. Available options can differ depending on the Apple device and what you’re trying to stream.

If Apple AirPlay Settings is missing
- Recheck the model code and region against Samsung’s compatible-model information rather than relying on the series name.
- Check whether Samsung offers a software update for that exact model. Samsung’s 2019 announcement said select 2018 models received AirPlay 2 through a firmware update; that historical rollout does not mean an update will add AirPlay to every older or incompatible TV.
- Do not expect an Evolution kit to add the feature. Samsung Singapore says Evolution kits do not add AirPlay 2 or Apple TV functionality.
AirPlay is not Samsung Smart View
AirPlay is Apple’s streaming and screen-mirroring feature for compatible TVs. It is distinct from Samsung Smart View. Samsung’s broad guidance that Smart TVs released since 2018 support AirPlay should be read alongside its model-specific compatibility information—not as a guarantee for every television labelled “6 Series.”
