1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFirst identify the exact game and platform. As of October 13, 2026, STAR WARS: Galactic Racer is listed for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, while STAR WARS Zero Company is listed for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. Their hardware requirements are different, so a device that runs one is not automatically suitable for the other.
On a Windows PC, use DxDiag to record your operating system, processor, memory, graphics card and DirectX version, then check free space in File Explorer. Compare every item with the official requirements for your exact game. On a console, compare the precise model and generation with the publisher’s supported-platform list. A minimum-specification match means the game may start under the stated conditions; it does not promise smooth performance at every setting.

STAR WARS Zero Company
Electronic Arts lists Zero Company on PC through the EA app, Steam and Epic Games Store, plus PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The publisher’s requirements page is the authority for its PC specifications. The reviewed information does not confirm backward compatibility with older console generations.
Record your target before checking hardware
- Write down the exact game title and whether you will use PC, PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series hardware.
- For PC, note the storefront or launcher, because a requirement page can change with a game update.
- Decide what “can run” means for you: starting at the minimum target, or reaching a particular resolution, frame rate and graphics preset.
2. Check a Windows PC in a few minutes
Electronic Arts’ support guide for STAR WARS Zero Company provides a reliable inventory method. Use the same inventory when checking Galactic Racer, then compare the results with that game’s own listing.
- Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type
dxdiagand press Enter. If Windows asks whether to check driver signatures, choose the option that lets DxDiag open. - On the System tab, record the operating system, processor, installed memory and DirectX version.
- Open the Display tab and record the graphics card name. On a laptop with integrated and discrete graphics, check every display tab so you know which GPU the game can use.
- Press Windows key + E to open File Explorer, select This PC, and read the free-space figure under Devices and drives.
- Write the results in one list before comparing them. Include the drive letter and whether the installation drive is an SSD when the game requires one.
DxDiag reports installed memory, not necessarily memory available after Windows and other programs have loaded. Close large applications before playing, but do not treat that as a substitute for meeting the published RAM requirement.

What each item tells you
- Operating system: confirms whether your Windows edition and 64-bit architecture meet the game’s requirement.
- CPU: affects simulation, game logic and frame-time consistency. Compare the exact model, not just the manufacturer or marketing tier.
- GPU: does most of the rendering work. Compare the exact graphics-card family and model shown in DxDiag.
- RAM: is system memory. A powerful graphics card cannot compensate for too little system RAM.
- DirectX: shows the graphics API version exposed by Windows and the driver.
- Storage: is both capacity and, for Galactic Racer, drive type. Free space must be available at installation time; an SSD requirement is separate from capacity.
Intel Arc users and Resizable BAR
EA advises users of Intel Arc graphics cards to enable Resizable BAR for better FPS performance in Zero Company. Check your motherboard and graphics-card documentation for the exact BIOS and firmware procedure, or contact the manufacturer. Do not assume the option is enabled simply because an Arc card is installed.
3. Compare your PC with STAR WARS: Galactic Racer
The following figures are the current Steam listing values for the Windows version. “Minimum” and “Recommended” are separate targets, not two interchangeable descriptions of the same experience.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 | Not separately stated in the listing |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 | Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X |
| Memory | 12 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | Nvidia RTX 2060, Intel Arc A580, or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT 6GB | Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, Intel Arc B580, or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT |
| Storage | 50 GB available; SSD required | 50 GB available; SSD required |
To pass the minimum check, your PC needs at least the listed operating-system level, processor class, 12 GB of RAM, one of the listed graphics classes and 50 GB free on an SSD. The recommended column raises the processor, memory and graphics targets. The listing does not provide a separate recommended Windows version, so do not infer one that is not stated.
How to interpret a near match
If your CPU is below the minimum while your GPU is above it, the machine still fails the published minimum comparison. The same applies in reverse: a qualifying CPU does not make up for an under-spec GPU or a non-SSD installation drive. A model from a newer product family is not automatically equivalent; use independent performance evidence only if you can verify that it is comparable, and treat the official named models as the safe reference.
4. Compare your PC with STAR WARS Zero Company
EA publishes both hardware requirements and performance targets for Zero Company. Those targets make the practical difference between the two columns clearer than the labels alone.

| Storage | 50 GB available | 50 GB available |
| EA target | 1920×1080, 30 FPS, Low preset | 2560×1440, 60 FPS, High preset |
EA describes Zero Company as single-player, so an always-online connection is not included in the PC system requirements. You may still need internet access to download the game, receive updates or use launcher and platform features.
What the targets mean
The minimum column is tied to 1080p, 30 frames per second and the Low preset. The recommended column is tied to 1440p, 60 frames per second and the High preset. If your goal is 4K, ultrawide output, ray-traced effects or a frame rate above those targets, neither column promises that result; you would need game-specific performance testing or a later official update.
5. Decide whether a match is good enough
Electronic Arts states: “Meeting the minimum system requirements for a game doesn’t guarantee that every graphics setting will run smoothly.” Use the requirement tables as a gate, then set a realistic performance expectation.
Use a component-by-component decision
- Check the operating system first. An unsupported Windows architecture can block installation even when the hardware is fast enough.
- Check the CPU and GPU separately. Games can be limited by processor work in one scene and graphics rendering in another.
- Check RAM without rounding down. If the table says 16 GB, a system with less than 16 GB does not meet that line.
- Check storage capacity and type. Keep the stated free space available; for Galactic Racer, confirm the target drive is an SSD.
- Match the desired result to the publisher target. Minimum hardware should be evaluated as a low-setting, lower-frame-rate target where the publisher specifies one, not as a guarantee of high settings.
Why “it launches” is not the same as “it runs well”
Loading the title proves only that the operating system and launcher could start it. Stutter, long frame times, texture pop-in or frequent settings reductions can still occur when a component is at or below minimum. If performance is poor, EA’s general remedy is to lower the resolution or graphics settings. Change one setting group at a time so you can see which adjustment helps.
Do not use one game as a proxy for the other
Galactic Racer and Zero Company have different minimum processors, memory requirements and graphics recommendations. A PC that clears one table can fail the other. Always return to the exact game’s current store or publisher page after a major update.
6. Check a PlayStation or Xbox console
Console compatibility is primarily a platform-generation question rather than a component-by-component comparison.
- Find the exact model printed on the console, its box or the system settings screen.
- Compare that model with the game’s official platform list.
- Confirm whether the listing says a broad family, such as Xbox Series consoles, or a specific model, such as Xbox Series X|S.
- Do not assume an older console can run the game because its account, controller or display is compatible.
Galactic Racer is listed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Zero Company is listed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. The available platform announcements do not confirm versions for PS4, Xbox One or other previous generations, so those systems should be treated as unsupported unless the publisher later publishes a specific edition.
Storage and updates on consoles
The PC listings give a 50 GB figure, but the reviewed console announcements do not establish a separate console installation size. Leave additional free space for patches and temporary installation files rather than treating the PC number as a confirmed console requirement.

7. Troubleshoot a PC that appears compatible
The game will not install
- Recheck the free-space figure in This PC, including the drive selected by the launcher.
- For Galactic Racer, verify that the selected drive is an SSD, not only that it has 50 GB free.
- Confirm that Windows is 64-bit where Zero Company requires it.
- Make sure the launcher is using the intended GPU on a laptop with switchable graphics.
The game starts but performance is poor
- Lower output resolution first, then reduce demanding graphics settings.
- Close background applications that consume RAM or GPU time.
- Install current graphics drivers from the GPU manufacturer.
- Compare your actual frame-rate goal with the publisher’s stated target rather than assuming minimum hardware should deliver high settings.
- If you use Intel Arc graphics with Zero Company, check Resizable BAR as EA recommends.
Only one component is below minimum
That single shortfall is enough to make the system an unconfirmed match. Do not “average” component scores or assume a newer GPU erases a weak CPU. Identify the limiting part, verify the manufacturer’s upgrade compatibility, and then recheck the complete table after any change.
8. Upgrade only when the check shows a real need
The clearest hardware-specific upgrade case in the listed specifications is storage for Galactic Racer: the PC listing requires an SSD and 50 GB of free space. Before buying an internal SSD, verify your computer’s interface, physical form factor, available slot and capacity support. A drive that cannot connect to the motherboard will not solve the requirement.
Memory, processor and graphics upgrades require the same discipline. Check the exact motherboard, power supply, cooling and case limits before selecting a part. The game tables identify the target component classes; they do not establish that a particular upgrade will fit every computer. If your device already meets the recommended column and you still see problems, investigate drivers, thermals, background software and in-game settings before purchasing hardware.

When not to buy anything
A requirement mismatch does not automatically justify a new computer. First establish which line fails and whether the game’s settings target is acceptable. A PC that falls short only on RAM may need a different solution from one with an unsupported CPU socket or insufficient power supply. Conversely, buying a faster graphics card will not correct inadequate system memory, a missing DirectX feature or an installation drive that is too slow.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.9. Use a simple comparison worksheet
Copy the following headings into a note and fill them in from DxDiag and File Explorer:
- Game and platform edition
- Windows version and 64-bit status
- CPU model
- Installed RAM
- GPU model and video memory as displayed by Windows
- DirectX version
- Installation drive, SSD or hard drive, and free capacity
- Desired resolution, FPS and graphics preset
Mark each row as meets minimum, meets recommended or below listed requirement. Keep “unknown” as a separate status instead of guessing. For example, if you know that a laptop has an RTX-series GPU but not the exact model, you have not yet established that it matches an RTX 2060 or RTX 3060 Ti. This worksheet also prevents a common mistake: comparing a desktop GPU name with a laptop version that has different performance limits.
After a component change, repeat the entire check. BIOS updates, a new Windows installation or a driver replacement can alter what DxDiag reports, while moving a game to another drive can change whether the SSD requirement is satisfied.
10. Recheck requirements before downloading
Game requirements and platform availability can change with patches, revised store pages or newly announced editions. On the day you install:

- Open the current official publisher or storefront page for the exact title.
- Confirm the operating-system, CPU, GPU, RAM, DirectX and storage lines again.
- Check the available-platform list if you are using a console.
- Keep enough free storage for the installation and updates.
- Record the settings and frame-rate target you actually want, then use the minimum or recommended column as an expectation guide rather than a guarantee.
This process gives you a defensible answer: whether your device meets the published baseline, whether it aligns with the stated performance target, and which specific component or platform limitation needs attention.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can my PC run the new Star Wars game?
It depends on the exact title. Use DxDiag to record Windows, CPU, RAM, GPU and DirectX, check free storage in File Explorer, and compare every item with that game’s current official table. A PC that meets Galactic Racer requirements may not meet Zero Company requirements.
