To check whether your PC can run Mina the Hollower, compare its operating system, processor, graphics adapter, RAM, DirectX or glibc support, and free storage with the minimum requirements on the official Steam listing. Windows PCs need a 64-bit system, a fourth-generation Intel Core (Haswell) or AMD Bulldozer-era processor, 4 GB of RAM, graphics at least in the Intel HD 5000, Radeon HD 7000, or Nvidia 900-series class, DirectX 12, and 860 MB of free space. Matching those figures is only a baseline: the listing does not promise a frame rate or smoothness level.
Quick answer: compare every listed requirement
A PC should be treated as a potential match only after all of its relevant specifications meet the published minimums. Having 4 GB of RAM, for example, does not compensate for an older processor or unsupported graphics adapter. Check the complete set of components for your operating system, then account for the separate Steam-client limitation on older Windows versions.

The following table transcribes the platform-specific information on Steam’s Mina the Hollower page. “Not stated” means the listing does not provide that detail; it does not mean that the component is irrelevant.

Steam’s page is the authoritative place to recheck these figures because requirements can change. Open the listing and expand the system-requirements area before purchasing or installing.
How to check a Windows PC
Use the following sequence so that an apparently adequate machine does not fail on an overlooked requirement. You can perform these checks with tools built into Windows; no separate compatibility checker is provided on the game listing.
1. Confirm the Windows edition and system architecture
- Open Settings and select System, then About. On some Windows versions, right-click This PC, choose Properties, and read the same information there.
- Record the Windows edition and the System type. The game listing calls for a 64-bit operating system, so a 32-bit installation does not match the published minimum even if the processor itself is capable of 64-bit operation.
- Compare the edition with the store’s “Windows 8 or later” line, then perform the Steam-client check in the next subsection. Those two checks are related but not identical.
2. Find the processor model and installed RAM
- In Settings → System → About, read the Processor and Installed RAM fields. Alternatively, press
Ctrl+Shift+Escto open Task Manager, select Performance, and choose CPU or Memory. - Write down the full processor model, not just the manufacturer or clock speed. The minimum is expressed as processor families and generations: Intel Core 4th generation (Haswell, introduced in 2013) or AMD Bulldozer (2011).
- Check that installed memory is at least 4 GB. “Installed” is the amount fitted in the computer; available memory shown in Task Manager will be lower because Windows and other programs are already using some of it.
Do not use RAM as a substitute for a CPU comparison. A computer can have 8 GB or 16 GB and still miss the processor requirement.
3. Identify the actual graphics adapter
- Open Settings → System → Display → Advanced display to see display information, or open Device Manager, expand Display adapters, and copy the adapter name.
- For more detail, press
Win+R, typedxdiag, press Enter, and select the Display or Render tab. Record the adapter model and the driver information shown there. - Compare the model itself with the published classes: Intel HD 5000, Radeon HD 7000, or Nvidia 900 Series (Maxwell). Integrated graphics and dedicated graphics use different naming schemes, so compare the model family rather than a marketing label such as “gaming” or “HD.”
If Device Manager lists both integrated and dedicated adapters, note which one games normally use. A laptop may show an older integrated adapter alongside a newer discrete GPU; the newer adapter is the relevant comparison when it is available to the game.

4. Check DirectX 12 support
- Press
Win+R, enterdxdiag, and press Enter. - On the System tab, read DirectX Version. This confirms the installed DirectX runtime version.
- Use the Display tab to review feature information and the adapter model. The Windows listing specifies DirectX 12, so an older DirectX version or graphics hardware that cannot provide the required feature level is a mismatch.
The DirectX version shown by Windows and the hardware’s feature support are related but not interchangeable. Installing a newer runtime does not turn unsupported graphics hardware into DirectX 12-capable hardware.
5. Verify at least 860 MB of free storage
- Open File Explorer → This PC.
- Find the drive on which Steam will install the game and read its Free space.
- Confirm that at least 860 MB is free. Leave additional room for Steam’s download process, temporary files, updates, and the operating system rather than filling the drive to the exact minimum.
The 860 MB figure is the listing’s required available storage, not a recommendation for all future updates or for other games on the same drive.
6. Apply the Windows and Steam-client caveat
The store lists Windows 8 or later for the game, but the same Steam page notes that, beginning January 1, 2024, the Steam client supports Windows 10 and later. A Windows 8 computer can therefore match the game’s stated operating-system line while still falling outside the current Steam-client support statement. Treat the client requirement as a separate gate: check whether your installed Steam client can run on that Windows version before relying on the game requirement alone.

How to interpret the Windows processor and graphics names
Generational names can be confusing because a product’s release year is not always printed in the model number. The minimum uses these reference points:

The table describes the reference classes published by the store, not a promise that every model in a broad family performs identically. If your model name is close but not clearly within one of these classes, the listing alone cannot certify compatibility.
Checking a Mac
The Mac requirements are different from the Windows and Linux lines. Steam lists macOS 11 or later, a 64-bit operating system, an Apple M1 or later processor, 4 GB RAM, and 860 MB of available storage. It does not publish a separate minimum Mac graphics specification.
- Choose Apple menu → About This Mac. Record the macOS version, chip or processor, and memory.
- Confirm that the Mac uses an Apple M1 or later chip. Intel-based Macs do not match the processor line as written, even if they have similar memory or storage.
- Check that the operating system is macOS 11 or newer and that the machine is a 64-bit system.
- Open System Settings → General → Storage (or About This Mac → Storage on older interfaces) and verify at least 860 MB free on the destination volume.
- Because no Mac graphics minimum is stated, do not invent one from the Windows graphics list. If the Mac meets the published Mac entries but you need a graphics-performance guarantee, the Steam listing does not provide enough information to make that guarantee.
Checking a Linux system
For Linux, Steam lists glibc 2.36 or later, a 64-bit operating system, the same Intel Haswell or AMD Bulldozer processor classes used in the Windows minimum, 4 GB RAM, the Intel HD 5000/Radeon HD 7000/Nvidia 900-series graphics classes, and 860 MB free storage. It does not state a Linux DirectX requirement.

uname -m. A result such asx86_64indicates a 64-bit userland; a 32-bit result does not meet the listing’s 64-bit requirement. - Check the glibc version with
ldd --version. The first line normally includes the installed glibc version. Compare it with 2.36 or later. - Use
lscputo identify the processor model andfree -hto view memory. Confirm the processor family and at least 4 GB installed RAM. - Identify the graphics adapter with your distribution’s hardware-information utility or a command such as
lspci | grep -i -E 'vga|3d|display'. Compare the resulting model with the three graphics classes named by Steam. - Check free space with
df -hand verify at least 860 MB on the filesystem where Steam’s library is located.
Do not add a DirectX test to the Linux checklist: the Linux section of the listing does not state a DirectX requirement. The absence of that line is not evidence that every graphics setup will work; it simply means Steam does not publish that particular requirement for Linux.

Use a pass, fail, or unknown decision instead of guessing
After collecting your specifications, classify each item separately. This prevents one strong component from hiding a missing requirement.

A “fail” means the published minimum is not met. An “unknown” means the available information is insufficient; it is not a reason to assume compatibility. For Windows 8 specifically, record the game OS line and the Steam-client support line as two separate results.
What meeting the minimum does—and does not—tell you
Minimum specifications answer a narrow question: whether the computer reaches the publisher’s stated baseline for launching the game. They do not establish a target frame rate, resolution, graphical preset, loading time, or stutter level. Steam’s listing includes no benchmark results and no useful higher recommended specifications for CPU, graphics, memory, or storage.
Background programs also consume processor time, RAM, and graphics resources. Close unnecessary applications, keep graphics drivers and the operating system maintained, and test the game after installation rather than treating the minimum table as a performance promise. Those steps may improve a borderline system, but they cannot repair a component that is below the published requirement.

Common mistakes and how to correct them
Checking only RAM
Four gigabytes is one requirement, not the entire checklist. Return to the CPU, GPU, OS, API, and storage checks before deciding.
Comparing brand names instead of models
“Intel,” “AMD,” “Nvidia,” or “GeForce” alone says nothing precise about whether the listed generation is met. Record the complete model from Device Manager, dxdiag, About This Mac, or Linux hardware tools.
Confusing installed DirectX with hardware capability
A runtime version shown in dxdiag does not upgrade old graphics hardware. Verify both the DirectX entry and the adapter’s capability.
Ignoring the Steam-client limitation
Windows 8 is the clearest example: it appears in the game’s OS minimum, while Steam states client support for Windows 10 and later from January 1, 2024. Check the client independently.
Using the wrong drive’s free-space figure
Steam libraries can be on a different volume from Windows. Check the exact destination drive, not merely the system drive.
Treating “not stated” as “not required”
The Mac graphics field and Linux DirectX field are not specified on the listing. Do not fill those gaps with a Windows requirement or an assumption about performance.
Is a controller required?
Steam includes “Controller” among the game’s tags, which may make a gamepad appealing for a player’s preferred control method. The listing does not say that a controller is required to run the PC version and does not identify a required model. Treat one as optional; first confirm the computer itself meets the platform requirements.

Final pre-install checklist
- Open the Steam listing and select the requirements for your platform.
- Confirm a 64-bit operating system and the applicable OS version.
- Identify the exact CPU model and compare its family or generation.
- Identify the actual graphics adapter, not just the amount of video memory.
- Verify at least 4 GB RAM.
- Check DirectX 12 on Windows or glibc 2.36 or later on Linux; use the Mac requirements as written.
- Verify 860 MB free on the Steam library drive, with additional headroom for installation and updates.
- If using Windows 8, verify Steam-client support separately because the client statement is Windows 10 and later from January 1, 2024.
- Interpret a match as minimum-spec compatibility only, not as a promised frame rate or visual setting.
