To check whether an RX 9070 GRE will fit, look up the exact board-partner card—not just the GPU name—and compare its dimensions, slot thickness, power connectors and PSU recommendation with your case, motherboard and power supply. The RX 9070 GRE name alone does not guarantee one size or one PSU requirement.
Start with the exact RX 9070 GRE model
Find the full product name or SKU of the card you plan to buy, then use that manufacturer’s specifications. Record its length, the published height or width, thickness or slot count, power connectors and recommended PSU capacity. The measurements below show why there is no single set of dimensions or power requirement for every RX 9070 GRE.

| Model | Published dimensions | Thickness | Power connectors | PSU recommendation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ASUS ATS-RX9070GRE-O12G | 305 × 126 × 50 mm | 2.5 slots | 2 × 8-pin | 650 W; ASUS bases this recommendation on a fully overclocked GPU and CPU system configuration. |
| ASRock RX 9070 GRE Steel Legend Dark 12GB OC | 298 × 131 × 58 mm | 2.9 slots | 2 × 8-pin | 700 W |
| SAPPHIRE PULSE RX 9070 GRE OC | Not stated on the cited product page | Not stated on the cited product page | 2 × 8-pin | 650 W minimum |
The ASUS model is longer but thinner than the listed ASRock model, whose PSU recommendation is higher. Check the specifications for your precise variant rather than applying one model’s figures to the entire GPU family. See the ASUS tech specs, ASRock product specifications and SAPPHIRE product page.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Compare card length with your case clearance
Check the case manufacturer’s maximum graphics-card length, then compare it with the exact card’s published length. The usable space can be less than the case’s nominal limit if a front radiator, fans, drive cage or other component occupies the same area.

- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal heat transfer, lowering GPU temperatures for enhanced performance and reliability
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- Look up the case’s maximum GPU length and note how that clearance is measured.
- Check whether your current front fans, radiator, drive cage or other parts reduce the available space.
- If the published clearance does not describe your current setup, measure the open space inside the assembled case and compare it with the card length.
Length is only one dimension. Check the card’s published height or width too, and make sure there is room to plug in and route its power leads. A card can meet the length limit yet be awkward or impossible to connect in a narrow chassis.
Check thickness, expansion slots and nearby cards
Compare the card’s slot thickness with the case’s open rear expansion positions and the space around the motherboard’s graphics slot. Don’t count only the slot that the card’s connector occupies: a 2.9-slot card, such as the listed ASRock model, needs substantially more neighboring space than a two-slot design. Allow for any adjacent expansion card that would be covered or obstructed.

Verify the PSU capacity and available leads
AMD lists 220 W typical desktop board power and a 650 W minimum PSU recommendation for the RX 9070 GRE family on its official product page. The 220 W figure is the card’s typical board power, not a PSU wattage requirement. Partner recommendations can differ: the cited ASUS and SAPPHIRE models specify 650 W, while the cited ASRock model specifies 700 W.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems- Check the exact card’s recommended PSU capacity and compare it with the rated capacity of your PSU.
- Confirm that the PSU has the number and type of native PCIe power leads the card requires. The cited ASUS and ASRock variants each use two 8-pin connectors; SAPPHIRE also lists two 8-pin connectors for its PULSE model.
- Check that the leads can reach the card and be routed without being forced against the case panel.
- Consider the full system configuration when assessing PSU suitability. The card’s published recommendation alone cannot certify an unspecified PC.
Confirm the motherboard slot and case layout
Check that the motherboard has a suitable, available full-length graphics slot and that the case exposes the corresponding rear expansion positions. AMD lists a PCIe 5.0 x16 bus for the RX 9070 GRE; SAPPHIRE states that its system requires a PCI Express PC with one x16-lane graphics slot available on the motherboard. Verify the exact motherboard and case layout, especially if another card or component blocks the slot.

Make the decision for your specific PC
Before buying, gather the exact graphics-card model, case model, PSU model and motherboard model. Compare the card’s dimensions and slot thickness with the assembled case, then verify its connectors, PSU recommendation and the available motherboard slot. Without those exact component details, it is not possible to say definitively whether a particular RX 9070 GRE will fit a specific PC.
