MSI classifies it as a full-tower case. Those measurements are a starting point, not a fit verdict: the usable space, obstructions and access around your particular desk or room determine whether it will work.
Start with the case’s actual dimensions
MSI lists the MEG MAESTRO 900R at 695 mm deep, 379 mm wide and 671 mm high (27.36 × 14.92 × 26.42 inches). The order is depth × width × height, so do not treat the first number as the width. These are the case’s exterior measurements, not a recommended desk size or a clearance allowance. MSI’s official specifications identify it as a full tower and list a net weight of 33 kg (72.75 lb).

Measure the exact place you want to use
- Choose the location. Decide whether the case will sit on the desktop, on the floor beside it, or somewhere else. Measure that specific spot rather than relying on the desk’s advertised dimensions.
- Check the usable footprint. Compare the available depth with 695 mm (27.36 in) and available width with 379 mm (14.92 in). Account for desk edges, frames, lips, nearby furniture and any part of the location that cannot actually be occupied.
- Check clear height. For a location under a desk or shelf, measure the unobstructed vertical opening and compare it with 671 mm (26.42 in). Include any underside frame, shelf, ledge or other obstruction that reduces the opening.
- Think through access and placement. Check whether a wall, door swing, furniture or the route into the room will make it difficult to carry the case into position or reach it once placed.
- Allow for your setup. Decide how much room your own arrangement needs to reach ports, route cables and support airflow. MSI’s reviewed pages provide the outer dimensions but do not specify a universal operating clearance or minimum desk size.
Will it fit on your desk or under it?
There is no general yes-or-no answer without your desk’s usable measurements. On a desktop, check both the available footprint and whether the supporting surface can accommodate the case in the spot you have chosen. Under a desk, compare the unobstructed floor area and clear height with the case dimensions, then check access, cable routing and airflow for your setup. MSI’s general description of the case as suited to a studio, office or gaming room does not establish that it fits beneath a particular desk.
Account for weight and handling
The listed net weight is 33 kg (72.75 lb), so include moving and positioning the case in your plan. MSI’s UK specification page lists a gross weight of 38 kg (83.78 lb); that is the packaged figure, not the case’s net weight. Use suitable help and care when moving a heavy case.

Features that change setup options, not size
MSI describes the front I/O module as repositionable for different orientations and desk setups, and the motherboard tray as rotatable in four directions. These features may let you tailor access and presentation, but they do not reduce the exterior dimensions or guarantee that the case fits your chosen location. MSI’s product page describes it as a visible centerpiece for a studio, office or gaming room; that is MSI’s product positioning, not an independent fit assessment.

For each candidate location, compare the usable footprint and clear height with the case’s dimensions, then consider obstructions, port and cable access, airflow needs and the practical route for moving a 33 kg case into place. A spot that clears the measured dimensions may still be inconvenient if it blocks access or leaves too little room for your setup. Confirm the edition and specifications on the listing you are considering against MSI’s published measurements before deciding.
