Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallCrashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minutePrice the complete order you would really place, then compare that final eligible total with the same items at ordinary menu or value-menu prices. A banner such as “$5 meal” or “free fries” is not proof of savings until you account for required purchases, size and quantity, customization, tax, fees, channel restrictions, and any item you would not otherwise buy. Treat loyalty points as a separate future benefit, not cash saved at checkout.
The method below is designed for U.S. restaurant apps. Prices, participation, expiration dates, and redemption rules can change by location and date, so the restaurant’s own offer terms in your app are the authority immediately before you order.
The quick test: compare equivalent final totals
Use this calculation:
Immediate savings = regular-price total for the same items − deal-cart total after required purchases, tax, and applicable fees
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
If the result is positive, the deal lowers the cost of that order. If it is zero or negative, the headline offer is not cheaper for your situation. Do not compare a discounted bundle with a smaller order, a different size, or fewer items unless you clearly describe the difference.
For a fair comparison, hold these variables constant:

There is no reliable universal ranking of the “cheapest” fast-food app. Official terms show that prices and participation vary by location and that each promotion has its own conditions.
Why a displayed discount can mislead you
The advertised price may cover only part of your order
An offer can show a low price for a meal while requiring a minimum purchase, a particular entrée, or a qualifying side and drink. If you add an item solely to unlock the offer, include its full price in the deal total. The discount is real only if the resulting order costs less than the equivalent order without the promotion.
Eligibility is narrower than the headline
Terms can restrict the exact product, size, restaurant, serving period, availability, and expiration date. A deal visible in an app may not apply at the location you intend to visit. Some offers also prohibit delivery, require a particular order channel, or limit how often you can redeem them.
Points are not an instant discount
Points earned on a discounted purchase can have value later, but they do not reduce the amount charged today. Their eventual value depends on what reward you redeem, whether the points expire, and whether you would have made that future purchase anyway.
Step 1: lock the location, date, and order channel
Open the restaurant app and select the location you would actually use before evaluating an offer. Participation and prices can differ between nearby restaurants. Record the date and time because offers can expire or change without notice.
Choose the channel you plan to use:
- Mobile pickup: confirm that the offer applies to an app order and to the selected pickup restaurant.
- Counter or drive-through: check whether the app generates a QR code or another in-person redemption method.
- Delivery: verify that the promotion permits delivery and note every delivery, service, or small-order fee.
- Third-party delivery: do not assume a restaurant-app offer carries over to an aggregator. Loyalty terms may exclude those orders.
Use the same channel for your regular-price comparison. An in-app pickup price is not an equivalent baseline for a delivery order with extra fees.

Step 2: build the order you actually want
Write down each item before applying the offer. Include size, quantity, flavor, add-ons, substitutions, and removed ingredients that affect price. If you normally buy two sandwiches and one drink, evaluate two sandwiches and one drink—not the single sandwich shown in the promotional tile.
| Order detail | What to record | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Item | Exact product name | An offer may apply to one variant but not another. |
| Size | Small, medium, large, or listed size | A bundle may require a particular size. |
| Quantity | Number of each item | One-use limits can prevent applying a discount to every item. |
| Customization | Add-ons, substitutions, removals | Premium changes can raise the qualifying total. |
| Channel | Pickup, counter, drive-through, or delivery | Some offers work only in the app or only in person. |
Save a screenshot or note the offer name and terms if you need to compare it later. The app may remove a promotion after it expires or after you redeem it.

Step 3: read the full offer conditions
Tap the terms link or information icon rather than relying on the banner. Record each condition in a checklist:
- Location: participating restaurant, region, or franchise restrictions.
- Validity: start and end dates, days of week, and whether it expires at a stated time.
- Serving period: breakfast, lunch, dinner, or another time window.
- Minimum purchase: required subtotal, item, or quantity.
- Eligible products: exact menu items, sizes, and exclusions.
- Redemption method: app order, website order, QR code, counter, drive-through, or another channel.
- Frequency: one use per visit, per day, per week, or per account.
- Combination rules: whether another deal, reward, coupon, or points redemption can be used at the same time.
- Excluded charges: tax, delivery, McDelivery or equivalent branded delivery, service fees, and third-party orders.
Conditions differ by promotion, so use the specific terms shown for the offer. General loyalty-program pages cannot override a deal’s own restrictions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

McDonald’s U.S. terms say deals can be limited to the product shown, participating restaurants, availability, and an expiration date; serving times can apply, and the general rule is one deal per restaurant visit unless deal-specific terms say otherwise. Its U.S. FAQ says customers must opt in to MyMcDonald’s Rewards to access the described deals and can redeem only one deal per person per visit. Deals are removed when they expire or are used.
McDonald’s live deals listings also show why a displayed price is not permanent. A current listing can include a $1 minimum purchase, a weekly redemption limit, participating-restaurant qualification, and exclusions for tax and McDelivery. Treat such figures as dated, offer-specific conditions rather than a universal promotion.
Burger King’s U.S. terms list offer-specific validity dates, participating U.S. locations, minimum-purchase requirements, and whether redemption is through the app, website, or in the restaurant. Its digital-offer page tells customers to check the terms before ordering.
Wendy’s states that its offers are for app use and may be added to a mobile order or loaded to a QR code for counter or pickup-window redemption. That means a coupon visible in the app may still require an in-person scan rather than a verbal request at the register.

Step 4: establish the regular-price baseline
Remove the promotion and price the same items at the same location and through the same channel. Use ordinary menu prices or an applicable value-menu price that you would genuinely choose. Keep every size, quantity, and customization identical.
If the app does not show a non-promotional price for a bundled item, price its components separately where possible. Label the baseline clearly when a component price is unavailable. Do not substitute a smaller item merely to make the deal appear cheaper.
| Line item | Regular price | Deal price | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entrée 1 | $X.XX | $X.XX | $X.XX |
| Entrée 2 | $X.XX | $X.XX | $X.XX |
| Side | $X.XX | $X.XX or included | $X.XX |
| Drink | $X.XX | $X.XX or included | $X.XX |
| Required extra item | Not in intended order | $X.XX | -$X.XX |
| Subtotal | $X.XX | $X.XX | $X.XX |
| Tax and applicable fees | $X.XX | $X.XX | $X.XX |
| Final total | $X.XX | $X.XX | $X.XX |
Replace the placeholders with the totals displayed for your restaurant. The table is a worksheet, not a claim about any chain’s current prices.

Step 5: include minimum-spend and required-item costs
A minimum purchase changes the comparison. Suppose your intended order is a $9 sandwich and a $2 drink. An offer gives the sandwich for $5 but requires a $3 side. The deal subtotal is $5 + $2 + $3 = $10, not $7, because the side is additional. If you would have bought the side anyway, compare the deal with the same three-item regular order. If you would not have bought it, compare the deal with your original two-item order and count the side as extra spending.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Use two scenarios when your appetite is flexible
- Intended-order scenario: include only items you planned to buy before seeing the promotion.
- Deal-qualified scenario: include every item needed to unlock the offer, even if it was not planned.
The deal is a saving for your intended order only when the deal-qualified final total is lower than the regular total for that same intended order. A lower per-item price does not compensate for spending on food you will not use.
Step 6: add tax and every applicable fee
Use the checkout total whenever the app displays tax and fees. Depending on location and channel, the final screen may include sales tax, delivery charges, service fees, small-order fees, or other charges. Apply the same treatment to both sides of the comparison.
If the promotion excludes tax, the discount may reduce the taxable subtotal while tax remains payable. If delivery is excluded, a pickup comparison is the fair test; do not claim delivery savings by silently omitting the delivery charge.
When a fee appears only after you select a channel, record it before deciding. A deal that saves $3 on food but adds a $4 service fee does not lower the final amount paid.

Step 7: separate immediate savings from loyalty points
Show two numbers:
- Checkout savings: the difference between equivalent final totals today.
- Potential reward value: points earned, with a separate explanation of how you might redeem them.
McDonald’s terms describe points accruing on U.S. dollars actually spent when a deal or reward is redeemed. Burger King’s Royal Perks terms describe Crowns accruing on eligible spending after discounts, excluding taxes and fees, and exclude third-party delivery-aggregator orders. Those rules mean the points base can be smaller than the menu subtotal.
Do not convert points into a universal cash amount. The sources do not establish one fixed dollar value for rewards, and the value depends on the later redemption you select. If you mention points in a comparison, state the assumed reward and its redemption conditions separately from the price charged now.
Step 8: verify redemption limits and combinations
Before placing the order, check whether the offer can be used with another coupon, reward, or app promotion. A one-deal-per-visit rule can make a stack that looked possible in the cart fail at checkout. Frequency limits may also be weekly or account-based rather than daily.

Check whether the offer disappears after redemption. McDonald’s U.S. FAQ says used or expired deals are removed. If you are comparing several orders over time, record the terms on the day you check them instead of assuming the same tile will remain available.
A worked example with hypothetical numbers
Imagine a pickup order containing two sandwiches at $6 each, one side at $3, and a drink at $2. The regular subtotal is $17. An app offer reduces one sandwich to $4 but requires a $5 minimum purchase and permits only one redemption. You still need the second sandwich, side, and drink, so the deal subtotal is $4 + $6 + $3 + $2 = $15. If tax is $1.20 in both carts, the regular final total is $18.20 and the deal final total is $16.20, for $2.00 immediate savings.
Now suppose the offer requires adding a dessert costing $4. The deal-qualified subtotal becomes $19 and the final total becomes $20.20. It is cheaper per discounted sandwich but costs $2 more than the regular order you originally wanted. The correct verdict is “not cheaper for this order.” These figures are illustrative; use your app’s prices and tax.
Common failure modes and how to fix them
Comparing a meal with a different order
Symptom: the promotion looks dramatically cheaper because the regular comparison omits a drink or side.
Fix: list every component and match sizes and quantities before calculating.
Using another restaurant’s price
Symptom: the offer was viewed while a different location was selected.
Fix: switch to the restaurant you will visit and rebuild both carts there.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Ignoring a required extra purchase
Symptom: the banner discount is larger than the amount saved at checkout.
Fix: add the required item at full price and run the intended-order and deal-qualified scenarios.
Applying an expired or already-used offer
Symptom: the code vanishes, fails at checkout, or changes price after selection.
Fix: reopen the current terms, verify the date and redemption count, and recalculate using the offer that is actually available.
Assuming delivery is included
Symptom: the food subtotal falls but the final payment does not.
Fix: check delivery eligibility and include every delivery and service fee. If the offer excludes delivery, compare pickup with pickup.
Treating points as cash off today
Symptom: a points estimate is subtracted from the checkout total.
Fix: report immediate savings first and list points as a separate, conditional future benefit.
Best Value
Trying to stack incompatible offers
Symptom: one promotion disappears when another is applied.
Fix: read the combination rule and compare each permitted option independently.
How to make a repeatable deal-checking worksheet
For frequent app users, keep a note or spreadsheet with one row per offer. Use these columns:
- Restaurant and exact location.
- Date and time checked.
- Offer name and expiration.
- Order channel.
- Eligible items, sizes, and quantities.
- Minimum spend or required additions.
- Regular subtotal.
- Deal subtotal before tax and fees.
- Tax and each applicable fee.
- Final regular total.
- Final deal total.
- Immediate savings.
- Points earned, kept separate from savings.
- Redemption limit and combination rule.
Use the same worksheet for a value-menu alternative. If a value-menu order is already cheaper than the deal-qualified cart, the app promotion is not the best price for that basket even if its headline percentage looks impressive.
When to skip the deal
Skip an offer when any of these statements is true:
- The final eligible total is higher than the equivalent regular order.
- You must buy food you did not intend to consume.
- The required channel adds fees that exceed the discount.
- The location, time, or item you need is not eligible.
- You cannot use the promotion with the reward or coupon you value more.
- The offer’s expiration or redemption limit makes it unreliable for your planned visit.
Choosing the regular menu is not a failure of couponing. The objective is to spend less on the order you actually want, not to maximize the number of promotions applied.
Final pre-order checklist
- Select the exact restaurant location.
- Confirm today’s date, serving period, and offer expiration.
- Build your intended order with exact sizes, quantities, and customizations.
- Read the offer’s product, minimum-spend, channel, and combination rules.
- Price the same items without the offer.
- Add required extras, tax, and every applicable fee.
- Compare final totals, not banner prices.
- List loyalty points separately from immediate savings.
- Check redemption frequency and whether the offer has already been used.
- Recheck the cart immediately before payment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I compare the app deal with the restaurant’s delivery price?
Only if you will actually order delivery. Use the same channel on both sides and include delivery, service, and small-order fees. If the offer excludes delivery, compare it with an eligible pickup or in-store order instead.
What if the app does not show a regular price for the bundled meal?
Price the same components separately when possible, keeping sizes and customizations identical. Clearly label any component whose ordinary price is not displayed rather than substituting a different item.
Can loyalty points make an otherwise worse deal worthwhile?
They may add future value, but they do not lower today’s charge. State the checkout savings first, then explain the points earned and the specific future reward assumed.
How often should I recalculate an app offer?
Recheck whenever you order. Offers can expire, disappear after redemption, change by location, or receive new channel and minimum-purchase conditions.
