Do not rely on labels such as Deluxe or Complete. The dependable method is to match your receipt to the exact game edition and storefront, inspect that edition’s itemized content, then check whether each add-on is owned, released, installed and unlocked in the game.
Those are separate questions. A receipt can prove what you bought, while an account page shows what the account currently owns, a download screen shows what is installed, and the game itself may delay access until a particular mission or location. Checking each layer prevents an unnecessary second purchase.

What “included” can mean
A game purchase can appear to include downloadable content while the content is in a different state. Separate these checks instead of treating a library entry or an edition name as proof that every bonus is ready to play.

Why a library tile is not enough
A library normally identifies the base game or the edition as one product. It may not list every expansion, character pack, cosmetic item or soundtrack attached to that product. On some stores, buying an edition updates or replaces the existing library representation instead of creating a second tile. Consequently, seeing one game icon does not prove that the account owns only the base game, and it does not prove that every advertised bonus is installed.

Use the library as a starting point, not as an itemized invoice. The receipt identifies the transaction, the exact edition page explains what that edition was supposed to contain, and the account’s DLC view confirms the current entitlement. If those records disagree, preserve all of them rather than guessing from the title shown in the library.
Use this verification sequence
1. Start with the transaction
Open the purchase history for the account that paid for the game. Record the exact product name, edition wording, platform or storefront, transaction date and region shown by the account. Save the order number or receipt. A console can have several user accounts, and a game installed on the device does not prove that the currently selected account owns its add-ons.
Write down the base game and every named add-on appearing on the receipt. If the receipt only says an edition name, do not expand that name from memory. The edition’s own store page is the next authority.
2. Inspect the page for that exact edition
Find the store listing that matches the platform, region and edition in the receipt. Read the included-content or add-ons section below the title and description. Compare the item names with your receipt, including separate story expansions, character packs, cosmetics, currency, soundtracks or other bonuses when they are explicitly listed.
Different versions of the same game can have different add-on arrangements. A Complete, Gold or Deluxe label is not an itemized guarantee, and a library page may show only the base product name. If the store offers several editions, open each version’s page rather than assuming that the most expensive label includes every earlier release.
3. Check ownership on the account
Search the account’s DLC or add-on list for each item named in the edition. Ownership is an account entitlement, not merely a file on the hard drive. If an add-on is absent, confirm that you are using the account shown on the receipt and that the platform and regional version are compatible.
Do this check for every named component. A pass may appear as one entitlement while its individual expansions appear separately only after release. Conversely, a cosmetic or bonus item may be listed in the edition description but have no separate store page. The absence of a separate tile is not, by itself, evidence that the item was excluded; compare the account record with the edition’s itemized description.

A season pass can be purchased before its promised content exists. Confirm the pass’s named components and their release dates on the storefront or the publisher’s pass information. After an item releases, look for a separate download or install action; ownership does not always trigger an automatic download.
Record two dates when troubleshooting: the date you bought the pass and the date the specific add-on was scheduled to release. An unreleased item cannot be made visible by reinstalling the base game. A released item that remains unavailable may simply require the manual download step shown by the platform.
5. Check where the game unlocks it
Some included content is not visible from the title screen. The game may require a checkpoint, a particular mission or a specific location before the item appears. If the account owns and has installed the add-on, consult the game’s own content or inventory areas and reach the stated unlock point before treating it as missing.

Use a simple decision path
When an expected add-on is missing, ask the questions in order:
- Was it named in the transaction or the exact edition listing? If not, the edition may never have promised it.
- Does the purchasing account own it? If not, check the account, platform and region before buying anything.
- Has it released? A season pass can cover future content that is not yet available.
- Is it downloaded and installed? Released ownership may still require a separate download.
- Has the game reached the unlock condition? Some bonuses appear only after a checkpoint or at a specified location.
Stop at the first “no” and resolve that issue before moving to the next step. This order prevents treating an unreleased or gated item as a licensing failure.
Steam: verify the edition, entitlement and installation
Use the Library DLC view
- Open Steam and select the game in your Library.
- Open the game’s properties and choose DLC, or use the DLC section on the game’s Library page when it is displayed.
- Review the list of owned add-ons and the installation status for each one.
- Compare that list with the receipt and the exact edition page, because this view describes the current account entitlement and installation rather than the historical wording of your purchase.
The DLC view is useful for finding an owned item that has not been installed. If an item is listed as owned but is not installed, enable or install it there, then start the game again. If it is not listed at all, return to the receipt and edition page before buying anything a second time.
Steam’s view can also reveal an asymmetry: one expansion may be installed while another named component is owned but unchecked or not downloaded. Review every line instead of assuming that installing the base game installed the entire edition.
Understand Steam bundle types
Steam uses more than one bundle structure. A Complete The Set bundle charges for the items you do not already own. A Must Purchase Together bundle can package a base game with DLC or another related application. The contents of a bundle can be changed by its publisher, so the current bundle label is not a complete record of what a past transaction contained.

Epic Games Store: inspect Add-Ons and the edition page
Check the storefront listing
Epic identifies add-ons under an Add-Ons heading below the game title. Open the page for the specific version you purchased and read that section. The store treats an edition as a package that normally contains the base game plus additional content, but the exact contents depend on the named version.
Compare the edition page with the transaction while signed in to the same Epic account. If multiple versions have similar artwork or names, verify the version selector and the product wording rather than relying on the price or a promotional banner.
Check from the Epic Games Launcher
- Open the Library in the Epic Games Launcher.
- Find the game and open its three-dot menu.
- Choose Explore Addons when that option is available.
- Match the displayed add-ons with the receipt and the edition’s store page.
Purchasing an edition can replace or update the existing library representation instead of creating a separate library entry. Therefore, seeing one game tile does not tell you whether the account owns its bonus content. Use the add-on list and transaction record instead.

If the account shows an edition purchase but a special-edition bonus is absent in the game, the publisher controls how that bonus is delivered. First verify the entitlement, release status, installation and in-game unlock conditions. If those checks pass, contact the publisher or storefront support with the transaction details.

Confirm the purchase
Review transaction history on the PlayStation account that made the purchase. Check the exact edition or pass name, date and account before troubleshooting the installed game. A different account on the same console may be able to launch the base game without owning the add-on.

For a pass, note every named component and its scheduled release. The pass entitlement belongs to the purchasing account; it does not automatically transfer simply because another local user can start the game.
Find add-ons on PS5
- Open Game Library.
- Select Your Collection.
- Choose the base game.
- Open its Add-Ons section.
- Review each purchased add-on and whether it is downloaded.
If the add-on is owned but not downloaded, start its download from the Add-Ons area. If it is downloaded yet absent in play, check the game’s instructions for the required checkpoint or location; some content does not appear immediately after installation.

Open the pass listing and read the named contents and release dates. A pass is linked to the purchasing account, but individual DLC can require a manual download after it releases. If a listed add-on still shows a price, do not purchase it again until you have checked the transaction, the exact pass contents, the signed-in account and the applicable licenses.
Account, platform and region checks
Entitlements are tied to the account and storefront that processed the payment. Confirm that the receipt’s account is the one currently signed in, especially on a shared console or a computer used by several family members. Also match the installed game to the same platform version named in the transaction. A PC purchase, console purchase and a purchase through another storefront are separate records even when the game title is identical.
Region is another comparison point where the platform distinguishes versions. Record the region shown on the transaction and the edition page, and check compatibility before concluding that an add-on is absent. If the account owns the item but the installed game uses a different platform or regional version, support may need to reconcile the licenses.
How to compare two editions or purchases
When deciding whether one purchase contains the same content as another, compare the attributes below rather than the marketing names.

This method can show why two purchases with similar names are not equivalent. One may contain a named expansion while another contains only cosmetic bonuses, or a pass may cover future releases that are not yet downloadable. It also explains why a lower-priced purchase can still include one particular add-on while a higher-priced edition omits it.
What to save before contacting support
Keep the order number, transaction date, exact edition name, account identifier used for the purchase, platform and region. Save the edition page’s included-content list and note which items are shown as owned, installed or still priced. For a season pass, include the release date of the missing component. These details let support distinguish a missing entitlement from an item that has not released, was not downloaded or is waiting for an in-game unlock.
Do not send only a screenshot of the library tile. A tile usually cannot establish which edition was charged or which add-ons were promised. Send the receipt and the relevant DLC or Add-Ons screen together, with the game’s unlock requirement if one is documented.

The receipt names DLC, but the account does not
- Sign out of secondary accounts and check the account printed on the receipt.
- Confirm that the receipt belongs to the same storefront and platform version as the installed game.
- Open the exact edition page and compare the itemized contents with the transaction.
- Keep the receipt and order number; contact platform support or the publisher responsible for the entitlement if the records conflict.
The account owns it, but it is not installed
- Use the platform’s DLC or Add-Ons view to start the download.
- Wait for installation to finish, then restart the game.
- Check that the installed base game and add-on use the same platform and compatible region where that distinction applies.
It is installed, but the game does not show it
- Check whether the content is gated behind a checkpoint, mission or location.
- Look in the game’s inventory, character selection, map or other area specified for that content.
- Verify that the item has actually released if it comes from a season pass.
A season-pass item still has a price
- Open the pass transaction and confirm that the item is named as part of it.
- Check the item’s release date and download it separately if it has released.
- Confirm the purchasing account and platform licenses before considering another purchase.
The store page and receipt disagree
Preserve screenshots or a copy of the receipt, the edition name, transaction date and account details. The receipt documents what was charged; the edition page documents the seller’s stated contents. Send both records to the platform or publisher support team that controls the missing entitlement rather than relying on the library tile alone.

I bought a season pass. Why is one DLC still unavailable?
