Check the exact game, edition, platform and region in the relevant official store, then confirm whether the listing allows a new purchase. If you already own the game, check your account library separately: a game can stop being sold while remaining accessible to existing owners. A merger by itself does not establish that a particular game was delisted or that existing owners lost access.
Check the game’s purchase status, not just whether its page appears
Start with the official store for each platform where you want to buy or play the game. Search the exact title and open its product page. Look for a current purchase option and confirm that it applies to the edition and region you need.

A visible product page is not proof that a game is still for sale. Microsoft’s Store publishing guidance says delisting makes a product no longer purchasable, while its documentation notes that a direct product-details page can remain accessible. Microsoft also distinguishes removal from selected markets from removal across all markets. Microsoft Store delisting guidance
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems- Record the full game title and edition; add-ons and different releases can have separate listings.
- Check each platform store you care about. A listing on one storefront does not establish availability on another.
- Check the market where you intend to buy or play. Availability may differ by region.
- Treat a search result or accessible product page as a lead, not confirmation; verify whether the store offers a purchase.
If you already own the game, check access separately
Sign in to the account that bought or claimed the game and look in its library. Then consult that platform’s current instructions for downloading and playing it. Purchase availability and access for existing owners are separate questions.

Epic Games Store Support says a delisted game can no longer be purchased there, but users who already own or claimed it keep access in their library. SEGA likewise says its selected delisted games remain available in owners’ libraries. These are policies for the named platforms and titles, not a guarantee about every game, store, or future download condition. A library entry is useful evidence of account-level availability, but check the platform’s current download and play conditions before relying on it. Microsoft notes that digital-goods availability may vary for technical, licensing, publishing, or other reasons. Microsoft digital-goods usage rules

Look for a title-specific publisher notice
Search the game publisher’s official news and support pages for the exact title, edition, platform, and region. Notices can specify which storefronts are affected, when a removal takes effect, whether downloadable content is included, and what happens to unused keys.

For example, Ubisoft’s announcement about Rocksmith (2011) identified storefronts from which the game and associated DLC would be removed and separately addressed unactivated keys. That kind of notice is why you should read the terms for the particular game rather than assume every removal follows the same schedule or rules. Ubisoft’s Rocksmith (2011) delisting announcement

Ask the current publisher if the reason is unclear
If the game is missing, the listing is ambiguous, or you want to know whether rights or distribution changed after a merger, contact the publisher identified on the game’s official site or store listing. Epic specifically advises users to contact the publisher to ask why a particular game was delisted. A merger can change ownership or distribution arrangements, but it does not by itself show that a specific title was delisted, that all rights transferred, or that current owners lost access.
What to compare across platforms or editions
If the game has multiple releases or storefront listings, compare the details rather than assuming their status is identical.

| Check | What to establish |
|---|---|
| New purchase | Does the official store currently offer a purchase for this edition in your market? |
| Existing ownership | Can the account that bought or claimed it still see it in the library, download it, and launch it under the platform’s current conditions? |
| Region | Is the listing available in the market where you intend to use it? |
| Licensed content or online services | Does the publisher or platform identify any licensing or service conditions that affect use? |
| Removal terms | Has the publisher announced a date, affected storefronts, DLC changes, or restrictions on unused keys? |
Store listings and notices can change. Recheck the relevant store and publisher guidance when making a decision, especially if a notice gives a deadline.
