An entry in an official register does not, by itself, mean a particular exchange lets you buy, deposit or withdraw that stablecoin there.
What “available” means under MiCA
Availability is not a single yes-or-no status. It can refer to an issuer’s regulatory position, a provider’s authority to offer crypto-asset services, or a provider’s actual product offer to a customer in a particular country. Those are related but separate checks.

- Issuer and token: Is the token an e-money token (EMT) or asset-referenced token (ART), and what does the issuer’s record show?
- Service provider: Is the exchange, broker, custodian or other crypto-asset service provider (CASP) authorised for the services you intend to use, and what country information is recorded?
- Live customer access: Does that provider currently make this token and the relevant functions available to customers in your country?
MiCA’s register and disclosure steps do not turn a record into a live catalogue of every platform’s country-specific products. For non-ART and non-EMT crypto-assets, MiCA Articles 8 and 9 also address notification and publication of white papers, including intended host Member States; that process should not be confused with an approval of the white paper.

How to check, step by step
- Identify the token precisely. Note its full commercial name, ticker, issuer, referenced currency or assets, and network or version if relevant. Tickers can be reused, and tokens with similar names or on different networks may have different issuers and records. Do not rely on a ticker alone.
- Determine whether it is an EMT or ART. An EMT references one official currency. An ART references another value or right, or a combination. The category matters because the relevant issuer record and MiCA rules differ. Check the token’s documentation and issuer information rather than inferring the category from its name or apparent peg.
- Search the ESMA MiCA register for the issuer. Use the relevant issuer information for ARTs or EMTs and match the legal issuer name to the token you identified. Article 109 describes register information, including intended host Member States for ART offers. ESMA’s register also includes CASP information and crypto-asset white papers.
- Search the register separately for your provider. Search by the provider’s legal entity name, not just its consumer-facing brand. Check the recorded authorised services and host-country information against what you plan to do, such as trading, custody or another service. A brand can have more than one legal entity, so make sure you have found the entity that serves customers in your country.
- Check the national financial regulator’s records. Compare the provider’s legal name and status with the relevant national regulator’s information. The joint European Supervisory Authorities’ consumer guidance recommends checking both the ESMA register and the national regulator’s website. MiCA Article 59 limits the provision of crypto-asset services in the Union to authorised CASPs and specified regulated-institution routes.
- Verify the provider’s current country-specific offer. Read its country terms and token-status notices, then check whether customers in your country can trade the token and whether deposits and withdrawals are enabled. Check relevant limits or restrictions as well. If the public information is unclear, ask the provider directly and, where needed, the national regulator.
- Check the dates and read the record’s scope. ESMA says the interim register is updated weekly, but information may not appear immediately after a national authority reports it. Its MiCA register page displayed 24 September 2026 as the latest update date when checked for this guide. Look at the register’s own displayed update date and consult the national regulator for newer information.
How to interpret what you find
An issuer record does not establish a platform listing
An issuer’s MiCA record concerns the issuer and token; it does not establish that a particular exchange or broker currently lists that token for customers in your country. A provider may have its own country restrictions, product decisions or limits on trading, deposits and withdrawals.

A provider record does not settle every customer-access question
A CASP record helps you check the legal entity and its authorised services, but it is not a live decision about every customer or product. Check that the record matches the entity serving you and verify the provider’s current local terms and token availability.
A listed white paper is not a regulator’s endorsement
ESMA states that crypto-asset white papers in its register have not been reviewed or approved by a competent authority in an EU Member State. A listing is not a guarantee that the token is safe, that you cannot lose money, or that a provider offers it to you.

Compare tokens or providers on the right points
If you are comparing options, look beyond the ticker, brand or stated peg. Use the same checks for each token and provider:

What the checks say about consumer protections
For EMTs, the European Supervisory Authorities say holders have a right to redeem at full face value in the referenced currency. The EMT white-paper warning also states that the token is not covered by investor compensation schemes under Directive 97/9/EC or deposit guarantee schemes under Directive 2014/49/EU. These statements are specific to EMTs and should not be generalized to every stablecoin or treated as a guarantee against loss. Read the token’s own documentation for the rights and risks that apply.

When the result is still unclear
If the issuer or provider is missing from a register, the name does not match, the country information is unclear, or the register may be out of date, do not treat that uncertainty as confirmation that the token is available. Check the national regulator’s current information and the provider’s country-specific terms. Ask the provider to confirm the exact token and legal entity, and whether trading, deposits and withdrawals are enabled for customers in your country.
A country-specific answer requires the exact country, token and platform: a general MiCA check cannot establish the current offer for an unspecified combination.
