Before paying for a Galaxy S25 Ultra, verify the seller through Samsung’s official or authorized channels in your country, confirm the phone’s exact model and condition, and get the local warranty and return terms in writing. An IMEI check can flag some registration or restriction problems, but a clean result does not prove the phone is genuine.
1. Verify the seller, not just the listing
Start with the seller’s legal or business name and check it independently against Samsung’s local store, authorized-retailer information, or support channel. A polished product page, a marketplace platform, and a seller’s own claim of authorization are not proof. Samsung Australia has warned about counterfeit phone offers on marketplaces such as Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree, and recommends official stores or authorized distributors. See Samsung Australia’s non-genuine products alert.

If you are buying through a marketplace, verify the actual account or business fulfilling the order—not only the marketplace’s name. If you cannot confirm the seller’s status, contact Samsung support in your country before paying.
2. Confirm exactly what phone is being offered
Ask the seller to state the following on the listing or invoice, then make sure the answers agree with the device you will receive:
#1 Best Overall
- Stunning 6.9″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with adaptive 1–120 Hz refresh rate, ultra‑bright up to ~2600 nits, HDR support, “Vision Booster,” and adaptive color tone — giving vivid colours, great outdoor visibility, and super‑smooth scrolling.
- Powerful internals: it runs on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (3 nm) chip, with 12 GB (or in some markets up to 16 GB) RAM and up to 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage — offering significantly improved CPU/GPU/NPU performance, especially for AI tasks, gaming, and heavy multitasking.
- Advanced quad‑camera system: 200 MP wide main sensor, plus a 50 MP ultrawide, a 50 MP periscope telephoto (5× optical zoom), and a 10 MP telephoto (3× optical zoom) — giving flexibility from ultra‑wide through detailed telephoto shots, and strong performance in varied lighting.
- 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W fast wired charging, wireless charging (Qi2) and reverse wireless charging — balancing long battery life with flexible charging options.
- Durable, premium build: Titanium‑frame body, protected by Corning Gorilla Armor 2 glass, with IP68 dust/water resistance, ultrasonic in‑display fingerprint sensor, modern connectivity (5G, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth, UWB, USB‑C), and long‑term software support (Android 15 / One UI 7, promised 7 major OS/security updates).
- Exact model code and storage capacity.
- Country or regional version, and whether it is carrier locked.
- Condition: new, used, generic refurbished, or Samsung Certified Re-Newed.
- Whether it has been activated or registered, and when any warranty began.
- What is included in the box and any fees required to complete the purchase.
These details matter because a phone intended for another market may have different service availability or network compatibility. Do not treat “global version,” “unlocked,” or “international warranty” as self-explanatory promises; ask the seller to define them and confirm locally with Samsung or an authorized service center.
3. Check warranty and service in your country
Ask Samsung support or a local authorized service center whether the specific model code is eligible for service where you live, and ask what proof of purchase or other conditions apply. Samsung US says smartphone service may be limited to the country where the product was first sold; for a foreign-market phone, local repair can be unavailable, delayed, or chargeable. Check the Samsung US warranty information and confirm the policy for your country rather than assuming it applies everywhere.

For a used or refurbished unit, ask who provides the warranty, its start and end dates, what it excludes, and who handles shipping or service. Warranty start dates and coverage are not universal; get confirmation for the specific device and market in writing.

4. Use an IMEI check as a limited warning signal
Compare the device’s IMEI with its box and purchase documents where possible, then use the official Samsung or national-regulator service available in your country. For example, Brazil’s Anatel explains how to check for local irregularities such as a stolen or missing-device status through its before-you-buy guidance.

An IMEI match or a clean lookup is not authentication. Samsung Russia Support says there is no reliable way to verify a Galaxy’s originality with certainty and recommends an IMEI check only as a precaution; see its authenticity guidance, updated June 3, 2026. A lookup may reveal some local registration or restriction issues, but it cannot establish that the handset is genuine or free of every risk.
5. Treat refurbished labels precisely
“Refurbished” can mean different things depending on who inspected or repaired the phone. Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed program is a distinct manufacturer program, not a synonym for any secondhand or refurbished listing. Samsung announced on January 13, 2026, that the Galaxy S25 Ultra was included in the program in select markets, sold through Samsung.com; it also says warranty terms can vary by country. Check whether the program is currently offered on your local Samsung site and read that market’s terms. The announcement is at Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed expansion notice.

If the listing says “certified,” ask who certified it and what that certification covers. Unless Samsung confirms the product is part of its local program, do not assume it has Samsung Certified Re-Newed status or warranty.

1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute6. Apply country-specific checks only where they belong
Some checks are local by design. Samsung Newsroom México points buyers to compliance markings, importer information, and regulatory labels as clues for official Mexican distribution. Those checks are relevant to Mexico, not a universal test for S25 Ultra authenticity. Read Samsung Mexico’s gray-market information if buying there.

7. Evaluate the discount without relying on a magic threshold
There is no established universal fair price or discount percentage that proves an S25 Ultra offer is suspicious. A low price alone does not prove a phone is counterfeit. It should prompt you to verify the seller, region, condition, warranty, return rights, and any local registration status before you commit. Samsung’s marketplace warning is a reason to check seller identity—not evidence that every marketplace listing or every discounted phone is fraudulent.
Quick Recap
8. Save the promises and decide before paying
- Save the listing, seller or business identity, and any messages describing the phone.
- Get the model, capacity, region, condition, warranty provider, and return window on the invoice or in written terms.
- Read the return and refund conditions, including deadlines, exclusions, and who pays return shipping.
- Use a checkout and payment method whose buyer protections apply in your country; protections are not universal.
- If the seller will not provide basic model, condition, warranty, or return details, pause and ask Samsung or an authorized local service channel to clarify before paying.
