To check whether a restaurant promotion is available at the branch you plan to visit, open the chain’s official app or website, select that location, and inspect the specific offer’s terms. Confirm the dates, eligible items, hours, ordering channel, account requirements, and redemption steps before you travel or place an order. A chain-wide ad does not guarantee that every location or ordering method accepts the deal.
Check an offer for the exact restaurant you plan to visit
- Choose the location first. Open the restaurant’s official app or website and select the branch you intend to use. If the app has an active-location setting, make sure it points to the right restaurant.
- Sign in and open the offers area. Look under labels such as Deals, Offers, Coupons, or Rewards. Some chains require an account or location permission to show nearby offers. McDonald’s, for example, advises users to log in, turn on location services, and select “Deals” in the app’s bottom navigation to find nearby deals (McDonald’s App Deals FAQs).
- Open the individual offer. A banner or ad may omit important restrictions. Read the offer details for the expiration date, eligible product, minimum purchase, valid hours, participating-store condition, and any activation or rewards-enrollment requirement.
- Check how it can be redeemed. Confirm whether it applies in-store, at a kiosk, in the drive-through, through mobile ordering, for pickup, or for delivery. For example, Taco Bell’s US signup reward is limited to its app and in-store or drive-through pickup at participating US locations (Taco Bell Rewards).
- Recheck before committing. Make sure the offer is still listed for the selected branch and remains valid on the day you plan to use it. If it generates a code or QR code, follow any timer and redemption instructions; McDonald’s says its scan-at-restaurant QR code is active for 15 minutes after selection (McDonald’s App Deals FAQs).
McDonald’s US terms illustrate why the offer itself matters: a deal may be limited to a particular online service, the product shown, participating restaurants, and its expiration date (McDonald’s US Terms and Conditions). The exact conditions differ by offer and chain.

Why a promotion may not be available at your location
Promotions can be restricted by more than geography. Check for conditions tied to the selected store, account, date, item, order channel, serving time, inventory, or supplies. A deal may also have a minimum spend, a limit per person, or a rule against combining it with another offer. McDonald’s US terms, for instance, say only one deal may be used per visit unless the deal’s terms say otherwise; its current deals page also notes that prices and participation vary and flags enrollment or delivery restrictions on displayed offers (terms; deals page).
Rewards availability can vary too. Starbucks’ US Rewards terms say not all stores can award or redeem Stars, and that rewards and tiers may vary by location. Personalized offers can require sign-in or activation and have their own limits (Starbucks Rewards Terms). These are brand-specific examples, not universal rules.

If the offer is missing or will not apply
- Verify that the app or website has the correct restaurant selected.
- Sign in, enable location access if the app uses it, and check whether the offer requires enrollment or activation.
- Compare the order method and eligible items in your cart with the offer terms; an in-store promotion may not apply to delivery or mobile ordering.
- Check the offer’s expiration, time window, purchase minimum, and any redemption or combination limit.
- If the terms still do not resolve the issue, contact the restaurant or the chain’s official support channel and show the offer details. McDonald’s directs users with app technical issues to its feedback form (McDonald’s Contact Us).
Compare offers on the terms that affect your visit
If you are choosing between promotions, compare them against the same practical details rather than the headline discount alone:
- Does the specific location participate?
- When does the offer expire, and what hours can you use it?
- Which item qualifies, and is there a minimum spend?
- Do you need an account, rewards enrollment, or advance activation?
- Which redemption channels are accepted, and are pickup or delivery included?
- Can it be combined with another offer, and is there a per-person limit?
- What is the final price after required fees?
The examples here come from official US pages for McDonald’s, Taco Bell, and Starbucks. They do not establish availability for a particular restaurant, another country, or a different chain. Use the official listing and terms for your own location, and reconfirm them on the day you intend to redeem the promotion.
