To find out whether a racing-game DLC is included, verify the exact edition’s contents first, then check ownership and installation on the account and platform that run the game. “Deluxe,” “Gold,” and “Ultimate” labels are not consistent across games, and an owned add-on can still be undownloaded, tied to another account, or unavailable until the base game and a redemption step are complete.
The reliable three-check method
Use these checks in order:
- Edition contents: Open the official store or publisher page for your exact game and edition. Confirm the named expansion, car pack, season pass, VIP pass, or bonus appears in the contents list.
- Account entitlement: Sign in to the same store or publisher account that purchased the game. Confirm the add-on is listed as owned rather than merely advertised or available to buy.
- Installation and in-game access: Check that the add-on is downloaded for the correct platform and that the game recognizes it. Ownership alone does not prove either installation or usability.
If any one of these checks fails, the DLC may not appear in races, menus, or your garage even though the edition name sounds as if it should include it.

1. Identify exactly what you bought
Write down the game’s title, platform, storefront, edition name, region, and the specific DLC you expect. “Season Pass” can mean a group of expansions, while a “Deluxe” package might contain only cosmetic items or early-unlock bonuses in another title. A physical disc, a digital code, and a subscription entitlement can also have different rules.

- Platform: Record PlayStation 4 or 5, Xbox One or Series, PC storefront, or another supported system. Console and PC versions are not automatically interchangeable.
- Storefront and account: Note where the purchase was made and which account is signed in.
- Expected content: Record the exact add-on name, pass, bonus pack, or code printed in the package.
- Purchase type: Distinguish a permanent purchase from access supplied by a subscription, trial, promotion, or game-sharing arrangement.
2. Read the official edition contents, not just the label
Open the game’s official edition comparison or store listing and compare the editions line by line. PlayStation’s consumer guidance specifically advises checking an edition before buying additional content. The named item must be in the contents list; a higher-sounding tier is not evidence by itself.

Save a screenshot or receipt showing the contents. It gives support staff the exact edition and terms instead of relying on a marketing label.
3. Confirm the purchasing account and platform
Sign out of secondary profiles and verify the account currently running the game. The base game and DLC should normally be associated with the same storefront account, or with accounts that the platform explicitly allows to share licenses. A publisher account linked to the wrong console or PC profile can make an entitlement appear to be missing.
- Open the platform’s account or order-history page and locate the game purchase.
- Check the order details for the edition name and included add-ons.
- Confirm that the account shown in the game launcher matches the account that owns the purchase.
- On a family or shared console, test with the purchasing profile before assuming the content is absent.
If a boxed edition supplied a code, verify that the code was redeemed on this account and in the correct region. A code redeemed elsewhere generally will not move simply because the same disc is inserted.
4. Check ownership and installation on each platform
Steam
Steam provides a direct DLC management view. In your Library, open the game’s Properties and choose DLC. The game’s Library page also offers a DLC section with Manage My … DLC. This view identifies DLC associated with the account and indicates whether each item is installed.
Steam Support says: “From the DLC installation and management menu you can see what DLC you have for the game and whether if it’s been installed.”
Use the check box or installation control shown for an owned item, allow the download to finish, and restart the game. If the item is listed as available to purchase rather than owned, check the account and edition before downloading anything.

PlayStation
Open the game’s store or library page on the console and inspect its add-ons. Select the expected item to see whether it is purchased, queued, downloaded, or still awaiting installation. Included content sometimes requires a separate download even when the base game was installed from a disc or bundle.

Check the console account that made the purchase, then use the platform’s restore-licenses function if the store shows ownership but the game does not. The exact menu wording can differ between PlayStation generations and system software, so follow the current on-console instructions. Do not buy the add-on again until the ownership page has been checked.
Xbox
Look at the game’s manage-installation screen and the account’s order or owned-content list. An entitlement is the account right to access a digital product, including games, subscriptions, and add-ons. Microsoft Learn defines it as “the customer’s right to access and use a digital product, including games, subscriptions, and add-ons.” Its developer documentation describes entitlement states such as active, inactive, expired, or revoked.
That documentation is aimed at developers, not a consumer diagnosis tool. For a purchase, use the Xbox account and library interfaces to see whether the add-on is owned and installed. If the entitlement is supplied by a subscription, confirm that both the subscription and the base game remain available.
Ubisoft Connect PC
In Ubisoft Connect PC, inspect the game’s library entry for the edition label, then open the game’s Properties page to review owned DLC or add-ons. The edition breakdown is useful when the library shows a generic game tile but the purchase included a pass or bonus pack.
Do not assume that an Xbox purchase transfers to PC in every case. Ubisoft has described an Xbox-to-PC offer in which most editions and DLC carry over for most games, while consumables are among the exceptions. The exact game, offer, and linked accounts determine whether that transfer applies.

EA app
EA’s help guidance notes that “Only base games, and not downloadable content (DLC) or expansion packs, are visible in your EA app Library.” In that launcher, a missing DLC tile therefore does not by itself prove that the add-on was not included. Check the base game’s details, purchase history, and in-game content instead.
EA also states that DLC requires its base game. If the base game came through a subscription and that access ends, an associated add-on may no longer be usable even though the account still records the purchase. A game-specific EA example also distinguishes digital bonus content from bonuses supplied with a physical copy; follow the instructions for that particular title rather than treating it as a universal rule.
5. Understand the three different states

These states are independent. An edition can include a pass that is owned but not installed; an installed file can fail to unlock because it belongs to another account; and a redeemed bonus can require a code, a game update, or a specific point in the campaign before it appears.

6. What to do when included DLC is not showing
Work through this sequence rather than repeatedly reinstalling the entire game.
- Recheck the edition list. Verify that the exact DLC name appears in the official contents for your platform and region. Confirm whether it is a pass, an individual add-on, a cosmetic bonus, or a consumable.
- Check the order and account. Open purchase history, confirm the transaction completed, and compare the signed-in account with the account used at checkout or code redemption.
- Inspect ownership in the storefront. Use Steam’s DLC page, the PlayStation add-on page, the Xbox owned-content view, Ubisoft Connect’s Properties page, or the relevant launcher’s account controls.
- Install or queue the item. An owned add-on may have its own download. Wait for the queue to finish, then restart the game.
- Update the base game. DLC files and entitlement checks can depend on the current game version. Install the platform’s pending game and system updates.
- Confirm base-game access. A DLC license normally does not replace the base game. Subscription-provided base-game access can end, leaving the add-on unusable until the base game is purchased or access is restored.
- Look for a redemption requirement. Physical bonuses, pre-order items, and retailer promotions may use a separate code or publisher-account activation. Check the package or the title’s official support instructions.
- Check the game’s own menus. Some racing DLC appears as a new event, car, track, or dealership entry rather than a separate application. Complete any clearly stated introductory step without assuming that every title uses the same trigger.
- Escalate with evidence. If the platform reports owned and installed but the game still omits the content, contact the game publisher’s current support channel with the receipt, edition, platform, account identifier, DLC name, and screenshots of the ownership and installation states.
7. How to tell what a season pass actually includes
A season pass is a package name, not a guarantee that every related item is included. Return to the edition page and look for the pass’s own contents list. It may name several expansions while leaving individual car packs, cosmetic items, credits, or later promotional rewards outside the package. Compare the wording in the receipt with the wording in the pass description.
Store pages can also show a pass as owned while listing its component expansions separately. That does not necessarily indicate a second charge or a missing license. Check whether the component is marked included, owned, or available for download. If a component has not released yet, ownership may be recorded before any installable files exist. Do not buy the individual item simply because it is displayed as a separate store page.

For a physical or retailer bundle, distinguish the disc’s base-game license from any paper code. The code may cover a pass, a bonus car, or consumable currency and may have its own region and account restrictions. Keep the packaging until every listed item has been redeemed or otherwise confirmed.

9. Cross-platform and physical-edition pitfalls
Moving between console and PC
Digital licenses are usually platform-specific unless the publisher and platform have announced a cross-buy or cross-progression arrangement. Even where a transfer exists, consumables and promotional items may be excluded. Verify the exact game and offer before buying a second copy or expecting a pass to follow you.
Disc ownership versus digital ownership
A disc can prove access to the base game while a separate digital code grants the bonus. Installing the disc on another account will not necessarily reproduce the code’s entitlement. Redeem codes only on the account and region intended by the package.
Subscription libraries
A subscription can make the base game playable without transferring permanent ownership. If that access expires, the DLC may remain listed on the account but cannot run until the base game is again accessible. Treat subscription access and purchased ownership as separate records.
Consumables and promotional rewards
Credits, tokens, starter packs, and other consumables may have one-time redemption, account-locking, or transfer restrictions. Their absence does not necessarily mean an expansion or season pass is missing; check the edition’s exclusions and redemption terms.

- Open the official page for the exact game, platform, region, and edition.
- Match the specific DLC or pass name to the contents list.
- Check whether the offer is permanent, subscription-based, promotional, or code-based.
- Confirm that the base game and add-on will be used on the same account or an explicitly supported linked account.
- Read platform-generation and cross-buy notes, including exclusions for consumables.
- Keep the order receipt and, for physical products, the code and region information.
These checks answer “Is it included?” before money is spent and provide the evidence needed if a store or publisher must correct an entitlement.
What information support needs
When the platform says the DLC is owned and installed but the racing game does not unlock it, send one concise report containing:
- Game title, edition, platform, and storefront
- DLC, pass, or bonus name exactly as listed
- Purchase date, order number, and region
- Account or publisher ID, shared only through the publisher’s secure form
- Screenshots showing the edition contents, ownership status, and installation status
