Check the Monthly Games list on your console
Sony recommends the PlayStation Plus hub as the local list for games available in your country or region. The menu differs slightly between consoles:

On PS5
- From the Games home screen, scroll right and select PlayStation Plus.
- Open the Benefits tab, then select Monthly Games.
- Highlight the game. If it is still available to claim, select the monthly-game option shown for it, such as Download, to add it to your library.
On PS4
- From the function screen, scroll right and select PlayStation Plus.
- Scroll down to Monthly Games.
- Highlight the game and select Add to Library, then Download.
Sony also says members can select PlayStation Plus games remotely through a web browser or the PlayStation App and start a download to PS5 or PS4. When checking claim availability rather than downloading, use the listing for the account and region in question and look for the monthly-game claim action. Check the deadline for that specific game
Sony says, “New games are added every calendar month,” but that cadence does not establish the final claim date or cutoff time for every title. The general access guide does not give one universal deadline. Check the live Monthly Games listing and the announcement for the specific month and game; do not assume a date or time based only on the monthly rotation.

Make sure it is a monthly game, not a catalog title
PlayStation Plus Monthly Games and the Game Catalog are separate benefits. A game appearing in a catalog does not mean it is currently available to claim as a monthly game. Catalog games may have an end date and leave the service; monthly games added to your library can be accessed later while your PlayStation Plus membership is active. Sony describes monthly games as a benefit of Essential, Extra, and Premium, while Extra includes Game Catalog access and Premium adds Classics Catalog access, cloud streaming, and game trials. Availability varies by country or region. A public PlayStation page for a different market may show a different lineup, so prefer the PlayStation Plus hub on your own console for the list available to your account. The monthly-games benefit is included with all three listed tiers—Essential, Extra, and Premium—so you do not need a higher tier solely to claim monthly games, provided your membership is active.
