Check the exact edition name in your Xbox or PC library, order confirmation, or receipt. Premium Edition and Premium Upgrade include both Forza Horizon 6 expansions. Standard, Deluxe, and Game Pass access to the Standard Edition do not include them automatically; you need an expansion purchase or the Expansion Bundle.
The entitlement rule in one minute
Forza Horizon 6 uses separate entitlements for the base game, premium extras, and its two expansions. The edition name—not the number of cars, the presence of a Car Pass, or the fact that the game appears in your Game Pass library—determines whether the expansions are included.

- Premium Edition: includes the base game and both expansions.
- Premium Upgrade: includes both expansions and other premium content, but it is not a standalone copy of the base game.
- Standard Edition: includes the base game; the expansions are separate add-ons.
- Deluxe Edition: includes the base game, Car Pass, and other listed extras; the expansions are still separate add-ons.
- Game Pass: provides access to the Standard Edition. The subscription alone does not establish ownership of either expansion.
- Expansion Bundle: contains Expansion 1 and Expansion 2, but requires the base game or an eligible Game Pass subscription separately.
If your library or receipt says only “Standard,” “Deluxe,” or “Game Pass,” do not assume that the expansions are present. Look for a separate entitlement named Premium Upgrade, Expansion Bundle, Expansion 1, or Expansion 2.
What every Forza Horizon 6 edition includes
The official edition matrix separates the full game from add-on entitlements. This is the clearest way to interpret the labels shown in an Xbox or PC storefront.

The matrix distinguishes expansion ownership from items such as Car Pass, VIP content, and individual car packs. Those items can appear in a Deluxe or Premium description without changing whether Expansion 1 or Expansion 2 is owned.
How to check your own edition
Use the name attached to your entitlement rather than relying on the artwork or the game’s installation tile. The official material describes edition contents but does not document one universal in-game entitlement screen, so the library, order record, or receipt is the dependable starting point.
- Open your Xbox or PC library. Select Forza Horizon 6 and open its product, details, or manage-game page. Look for the edition name attached to the license.
- Check the original order confirmation or receipt. Search for the full product title. “Premium Edition,” “Premium Upgrade,” “Deluxe Edition,” “Standard Edition,” and “Expansion Bundle” have different meanings.
- Match the name to the edition table. Premium Edition means the base game and both expansions. Premium Upgrade means both expansions but requires separate base-game access. Standard and Deluxe do not include the expansions in the official matrix.
- Inspect add-ons separately. If the library lists Expansion 1, Expansion 2, or Expansion Bundle as owned, those are the relevant entitlements. A Car Pass, VIP item, or car pack is not a substitute for an expansion listing.
- Check your Game Pass route. If you launch through Game Pass, identify whether you also purchased Premium Upgrade or an Expansion Bundle. Game Pass supplies Standard Edition access; it does not, by itself, prove that the expansions are licensed.
- Confirm the platform and account. Make sure the receipt and library belong to the Microsoft account that is signed in on the console or PC. A purchase made on another account may not appear as owned on the account you are checking.
If the edition name is truncated, open the full product details or order history instead of interpreting a shortened tile. A title that merely says “Forza Horizon 6” does not identify the edition.

Premium Edition is the simplest case. The official table lists the full game together with Expansion 1 and Expansion 2. If that exact edition appears on your receipt or in your library, you should not need to purchase the two expansions again.
Premium Edition may also list other premium items. Those extras are independent line items, but they do not alter the central entitlement: both expansions are included with the edition. If an expansion is not yet installed, check the game’s add-on management page for an available download rather than buying it again.

How to interpret Premium Upgrade
Premium Upgrade is intended for someone who already has access to the base game. It includes both expansions and other premium content, but it does not replace the base-game license.
Playground Games describes the requirement as: “Requires game, sold separately, or Game Pass (Ultimate or PC) subscription.” In practical terms, Premium Upgrade works when one of these is true:
Recommended Free Tools
- You purchased Standard, Deluxe, or another edition that supplies the base game.
- You have an eligible Game Pass Ultimate or PC subscription that supplies the game.
- You own another valid base-game license on the same account or through the platform’s supported sharing arrangement.
Buying Premium Upgrade without any base-game access will not give you a complete playable copy. When comparing prices, include the cost of the base game if you do not already own it.
How to interpret the Expansion Bundle
The Expansion Bundle is narrower than Premium Upgrade. It contains Expansion 1 and Expansion 2, but it does not turn into a full game license. The Xbox listing states that the game or an eligible Game Pass subscription is required and sold separately.
The bundle is therefore the relevant choice when you want both expansions and already have the base game through a purchase or subscription. It is also the clearest listing to look for when a Standard or Deluxe owner wants the two expansions without buying a broader premium package.

“Both Expansions will be available to purchase separately and are included in the Forza Horizon 6 Premium Edition and Premium Upgrade.”
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
That wording describes inclusion in Premium Edition and Premium Upgrade; it does not say that Standard, Deluxe, or Game Pass access includes either expansion.
What Game Pass does—and does not—include
Game Pass access supplies the Standard Edition of Forza Horizon 6. That gives you a way to play the base game while the subscription remains eligible, but the subscription alone does not confer the two expansion entitlements.
To play the expansions through a Game Pass-based setup, you need to add one of the following to the account with Game Pass access:
- Premium Upgrade, which includes both expansions and other premium content.
- Expansion Bundle, which includes both expansions specifically.
- An individual purchase of Expansion 1 or Expansion 2, if you want only one.
If your subscription changes or ends, the base-game requirement changes with it. Premium Upgrade and the Expansion Bundle are add-on licenses; they do not independently supply the game needed to launch the content.

Standard versus Deluxe: why neither edition proves expansion ownership
Standard and Deluxe both include the full game, but the official matrix lists the two expansions as add-ons for each. Deluxe adds the Car Pass and other stated extras, which can make its product page look close to a premium package. The expansion line, however, remains separate.
Use this rule when checking an existing purchase:
- If the receipt says Deluxe Edition but does not also show Premium Upgrade, Expansion Bundle, Expansion 1, or Expansion 2, the two expansions are not established as owned by that edition.
- If the receipt says Standard Edition, the same rule applies; the base game is included, while the expansions remain optional add-ons.
- If you upgraded from Standard or Deluxe later, look for the later Premium Upgrade or expansion transaction in addition to the original edition.
Common purchase situations
You own Premium Edition
Both expansions are part of the edition. Check the add-on management screen for installation options if the content is not already downloaded. Do not buy the Expansion Bundle merely because the expansions are shown as separate store pages.
You own Deluxe Edition
Deluxe supplies the base game, Car Pass, and other listed extras, but not the two expansions according to the official matrix. Choose Premium Upgrade if you also want the wider premium content, or choose Expansion Bundle if the two expansions are all you need.
You use Game Pass and want both expansions
Keep the Game Pass subscription for base-game access and add Premium Upgrade or Expansion Bundle. The former includes other premium content; the latter is limited to the two expansions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesYou bought one expansion separately
Ownership of one expansion does not imply ownership of the other. Check the add-on list for separate entries for Expansion 1 and Expansion 2 before purchasing the missing one.
You see Car Pass or VIP content but no expansion
Those are separate premium entitlements. Their presence confirms only that those specific extras were purchased or included; it does not establish access to either expansion.
You bought Premium Upgrade but cannot launch the game
Verify that the same account has the base game or an eligible Game Pass Ultimate or PC subscription. Premium Upgrade is an upgrade, not a standalone copy, so an expansion entitlement can be valid while the base-game requirement is missing.
What to do when an included expansion is missing
- Recheck the exact product name. Confirm that the transaction says Premium Edition or Premium Upgrade rather than Deluxe, Standard, or a similarly named car-content package.
- Open the add-on list for the installed game. Look for Expansion 1 and Expansion 2 as separate installable items. Included content may not be installed automatically.
- Verify the purchasing account. Sign in with the Xbox or Microsoft account that completed the transaction. Do not rely only on a console profile if multiple accounts use the device.
- Check the base-game condition. Premium Upgrade and Expansion Bundle require the game itself or eligible Game Pass access. If a subscription ended, the add-on may remain owned but unusable until base-game access is restored.
- Review order history. A receipt for Car Pass, VIP, or a car pack is not evidence of an expansion purchase. Look for the specific expansion or bundle name.
- Allow for platform differences. The documented comparison covers Xbox and PC listings. Do not assume that a PlayStation 5 store page uses identical editions or purchase routes; verify the listing for that platform.
The available official material does not identify a universal in-game screen that displays every expansion entitlement. If the library and order history disagree, use the platform’s account and purchase records before buying duplicate content.
Choosing between Premium Upgrade and Expansion Bundle
| Question | Premium Upgrade | Expansion Bundle |
|---|---|---|
| Does it include Expansion 1 and Expansion 2? | Yes | Yes |
| Does it include the base game? | No; the game is required separately | No; the game is required separately |
| Does it include other premium content? | Yes, as listed with the upgrade | No broader premium package is established; it covers the two expansions |
| Best fit | A base-game owner who wants both expansions and the wider premium package | A base-game owner who wants the two expansions specifically |
| Can Game Pass provide the base-game requirement? | Yes, with an eligible Game Pass Ultimate or PC subscription | Yes, with eligible Game Pass access as stated by the listing |
Compare what you already own before selecting either product. Someone with Standard or Deluxe may already have the base game, while a Game Pass player has subscription-based access to Standard. Neither situation makes the expansion purchase unnecessary.
Platform and edition limits
The documented edition comparison is for Xbox and PC entitlements. The official sources reviewed do not establish a complete PlayStation 5 edition matrix or prove that PS5 storefront purchase routes are identical. If you play on PS5, read the edition description on that platform rather than transferring the Xbox or PC assumptions.
The official launch material describes Forza Horizon 6 as offering more than 550 cars. That figure describes the base game’s scale; it is not an indicator that an edition contains either expansion. Use the explicit edition and add-on names for entitlement checks.
A quick decision checklist
- Premium Edition on the receipt? Both expansions are included.
- Premium Upgrade on the receipt? Both expansions are included, but confirm separate base-game or eligible Game Pass access.
- Standard or Deluxe only? The expansions are not included by that edition alone.
- Game Pass only? You have Standard Edition access; add-on ownership is separate.
- Expansion Bundle listed? Both expansions are included, while the base game remains a separate requirement.
- Only Car Pass, VIP, or car packs listed? Those items do not prove expansion access.
- Playing on PS5? Check the PS5 listing directly because the documented matrix does not establish identical platform entitlements.
The practical answer
Find the exact edition or add-on name in your library, receipt, or order history. Premium Edition and Premium Upgrade are the two edition routes that include both Forza Horizon 6 expansions. Standard and Deluxe provide the game but leave the expansions as add-ons, while Game Pass supplies Standard Edition access only. If you already have the game and want both expansions, the Expansion Bundle is the dedicated two-expansion option; if you also want the broader premium package, Premium Upgrade is the relevant upgrade.
