There is no single public dashboard that shows what every Indian government agency can access about you. You can check a limited but useful record of Aadhaar authentication activity through UIDAI. For other records, identify the public authority and request existing information through the relevant Right to Information (RTI) route, subject to legal exemptions.
What you can—and cannot—check
“Access” can mean different things: an agency may hold a record, receive information through a service, or authenticate an Aadhaar transaction. These are not the same. UIDAI’s Authentication History covers Aadhaar authentication transactions; it is not a government-wide audit trail and does not show every record an agency holds or every data field it may have viewed or copied.

Check your Aadhaar authentication history
- Open UIDAI’s Authentication History service or use the mAadhaar app.
- Authenticate with your Aadhaar number or Virtual ID (VID), then complete the verification sent to your registered mobile number.
- Review the displayed transactions. UIDAI says the service covers the previous six months and shows up to 50 records at a time. If you need a different period within that window, select a date range to view more records.
The history can include the authentication mode, date and time, UIDAI response, AUA name, transaction ID, success or failure, and an error code. It records authentication events, not a list of data fields accessed or copied as a result.

If you see an authentication you did not perform
Save the date, AUA name and transaction identifiers, then contact the AUA named in the entry to ask for details. UIDAI’s Authentication History FAQ directs an Aadhaar number holder who did not perform a listed transaction to contact the respective AUA.

Request other records through RTI
For information outside Aadhaar authentication history, first identify the authority and the specific records you want. The RTI Act applies to records held by or under a public authority, including electronic records, but exemptions can limit what is disclosed.
- Identify the authority. Determine which department or public authority is likely to hold the record. If you are unsure, a request framed around a named service, account or interaction may be more useful than asking what “the government” knows about you.
- Ask for existing records. Specify the record type, relevant service or account identifier, and date range. For example, request copies of records or logs held for a named service and period. A request for an explanation is different from a request for an existing record.
- Use the correct filing route. The Government of India’s RTI Online service is for central ministries and departments. State authorities and other public bodies may require a state portal or an application to the designated Public Information Officer.
- Keep the receipt and response. Retain your filing details and any reply so you can track the request or consider the applicable next step if information is withheld.
Do not assume an authority must disclose access logs in every case. The RTI route lets you request records; it does not guarantee that a particular log exists, is held by that authority, or can be disclosed without an exemption applying.

Check service-specific records separately
If your concern is about a particular platform, start with that service’s official account support and terms. For example, DigiLocker’s terms describe access logs as confidential information, but that wording does not establish a user-facing, comprehensive audit of agency access. A platform’s account history and a government-wide record of data access are different things.

The Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act and Rules have commencement provisions, so the framework does not necessarily apply in full from a single date. Before treating a particular right as an available remedy, check the current commencement notifications and rules. Do not assume that a DPDP access request will reveal government agency access logs unless the applicable provision and process establish that route.
