To check an LG OLED TV’s warranty, look up its exact model on LG’s U.S. Warranty Information page, then compare the listed terms with the TV’s original purchase or delivery date and your proof of purchase. Coverage varies by model, and registering the TV in MyLG does not replace proof of purchase or extend the warranty.
The key is to verify both the applicable terms and the dates for the individual TV. A model page describes published coverage for that model; it does not confirm that a particular set or repair is covered. Keep the original receipt, invoice, or delivery record, and ask LG to confirm the status if anything is unclear.

Check the warranty in five steps
-
Find the TV’s model and serial number
Look for both numbers on the label on the back of the television. You can also find the model in the TV’s information menus. On some older LG TVs, the path is Home > Settings (or Setup) > Support > Product/Service Info > OK. Menu names vary by generation, so use the TV’s on-screen search or help if that route does not match your set.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.Copy the complete model number, including any letters or suffixes. Similar-looking models can have different warranty terms, so do not rely on the screen size, OLED series name, or model year alone. If you are checking a set that is difficult to access, look in its on-screen product information first; the identifying label on the back remains another place to verify the details. Use the serial number as well when asking LG about the status of the specific unit.

Be careful not to confuse the model and serial numbers. The model identifies the product type that you will search on LG’s site. The serial number identifies the individual television and is useful when LG checks a particular product or claim. Record both accurately before contacting support.
-
Search LG’s U.S. warranty lookup
Open LG Electronics USA’s Warranty Information page and use Find Warranty Information by Model to search the exact model. Review the result and any linked warranty document for that product. A general statement about LG OLED TVs is not enough to establish the terms for your particular set.
Check that the result corresponds to the complete model number you have, rather than to a similar series or a product with a different suffix. Read the full warranty information, not only a short summary or a single duration. The page may distinguish between coverage for parts and labor, and the warranty document can provide additional terms or conditions. If the page and the paperwork supplied with the TV appear different, keep both available and ask LG which terms apply to your particular model and purchase.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy. The lookup answers a limited but important question: what published warranty terms LG lists for the model. It does not by itself tell you the original date of delivery or purchase, prove when the individual set was bought, or guarantee that a future repair will be approved. Those questions depend on the actual product, date, and applicable warranty terms.
-
Check MyLG for saved product details
If the TV is registered, sign in to MyLG and review the product record. LG says the account can retain details such as the model, serial number, purchase date, place of purchase, and price, and provides access to product support and warranty information. Treat this as a convenient record, not as proof that a claim is covered.
Use the account to help locate product details or support information, but compare its dates and other information with the original purchase paperwork. Registration does not establish the date LG will use to determine the warranty period. If MyLG has no record of the TV, that does not prevent you from searching LG’s public model lookup; use the model number and the original paperwork instead.
-
Match the terms to the original purchase or delivery date
LG says the warranty period starts on the original date of delivery or purchase. Compare that date with the applicable warranty document and keep the receipt, invoice, or delivery record. The model lookup can show the published terms, but it does not establish the actual start date for your individual TV.

Keep the document that records the original transaction or delivery so LG can evaluate the correct date.

Do not calculate remaining coverage from the model year or the date a particular series appeared in stores. A model year does not establish when your television was purchased or delivered, and LG’s published terms may vary across models. Use the exact model’s warranty information together with the original date and ask LG to check the individual product if you need a definitive answer.
-
Ask LG to confirm uncertain coverage
If the lookup is unclear, contact LG with the complete model number, serial number, purchase date, and proof-of-purchase document available. LG’s warranty document asks for the model number, serial number, and purchase date before service. LG must confirm the warranty status and determine how a specific claim will be handled.
When you contact support, explain whether you are trying to establish the coverage period, understand a difference between parts and labor, or ask about a particular repair. Having the relevant details together can help avoid a second round of questions: the model and serial number identify the TV, the date and paperwork support the purchase timeline, and a clear description explains the issue you want assessed. Keep the applicable warranty document nearby so you can refer to the wording that prompted your question.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.A public product page is useful for research, but it is not an individual coverage decision. LG’s determination for the specific set and claim is the one to rely on before assuming a repair is covered or arranging paid service.
Which warranty terms should you compare?
Read the warranty document for your exact model, not just the first coverage duration shown. Check which component is covered, when coverage starts and ends, whether labor is included, and what exclusions or conditions apply. A longer parts or panel term does not necessarily mean that labor is free during the same period.
Think of the warranty as a set of separate terms rather than one number. A page might give a term for parts and a term for labor, while also describing different treatment for the OLED display panel. To understand what the listed period means, match the covered component to the issue you are asking about, then check whether labor is included for that component and period. Do not assume that one duration applies to every component or every kind of service.
- Parts: Check the stated term for covered replacement parts.
- Labor: Look for a separate labor term or a note that labor is charged. Parts and labor can have different coverage periods.
- Display panel: Confirm whether the document provides a distinct panel term. Do not assume a panel extension applies to every OLED model.
- Dates and conditions: Use the original purchase or delivery date, and read the applicable document for exclusions and claim requirements.
Also compare the coverage dates with the original purchase or delivery date rather than treating the duration as a calendar period that starts when you register or first turn on the TV. If the warranty document describes a separate panel period, note both its start and end years and any labor wording. A panel term and a labor term answer different questions.

| LG OLED model | Coverage shown on LG’s U.S. product page | What to take from the example |
|---|---|---|
| OLED77B5 | 1 year for parts and 1 year for labor | The sampled page lists a one-year term for both parts and labor. |
| OLED77G5 | 1 year for parts and labor; OLED display panel coverage from years 2 through 5, with labor charged | A panel extension can have a different term and labor treatment from the base coverage. |
| OLED77T4 | 1 year for parts and 1 year for labor | The sampled page does not show the same panel-extension note as the OLED77G5 page. |
These examples demonstrate why the exact product page matters. The sampled OLED77B5 and OLED77T4 pages list one year for parts and one year for labor. The sampled OLED77G5 page lists one year for parts and labor, plus OLED display panel coverage from years two through five with labor charged. Even among these examples, a panel extension is not the same thing as several additional years of free labor.
Do not infer that another model has the OLED77G5 panel term because it is an OLED TV, belongs to a similar series, or was sold in a nearby year. Nor should you assume that the OLED77T4 page’s lack of the same panel-extension note proves what a different model’s warranty says. Search the exact model and read its linked warranty information and the document supplied with the TV.
These examples do not establish coverage for a different model, a particular purchase, or a repair request. Check your model’s product page and the warranty document supplied with the TV. LG’s terms may also depend on where the product was purchased and used.
Does registering the TV extend the warranty?
No. Registration can make product details and support information easier to find, but it does not extend the warranty period or establish the purchase date. LG’s U.S. OLED warranty document states that product registration does not substitute for proof of warranty, is not used to determine the date of purchase, and does not extend the product’s warranty period. Keep the original receipt or invoice even if the TV appears in MyLG.
LG’s wording is explicit: “Product registration does not substitute for Proof of Warranty, will not be used for determination of Date of Purchase, and does not extend the Warranty Period for your product.” The practical distinction is that MyLG is useful for saved product records and support access, while the original sales receipt, invoice, or delivery record is the evidence to keep for the warranty date. Registering is not a reason to discard that paperwork.
If the TV is already registered, check the account for convenient reference, then verify the details against the original documents. If you have not registered it, you can still use the public model lookup and contact LG with the identifying details. Registration is useful, but it does not change the warranty clock.
What if you bought the TV used?
Start with the same model lookup, but ask the seller for the original receipt or invoice and the delivery or purchase date. The warranty start date is tied to the original delivery or purchase, not the date you bought the set second-hand. Registration under your account alone does not confirm a remaining warranty term.

Ask for the original sales receipt or invoice rather than relying only on the seller’s estimate of the TV’s age. This gives you a basis to discuss possible coverage, but it is not a substitute for LG confirming the serial number and the circumstances.

If you already own the used TV and the seller cannot provide original paperwork, do not treat a MyLG registration record or the model’s published term as conclusive proof of the start date. Gather whatever identifying information you have and ask LG what it can verify for the specific set. The available terms depend on the applicable warranty document, purchase location, and purchase or delivery date; do not promise yourself coverage based on a model year alone.
Use the original paperwork and the model-specific terms to understand the possible coverage window, then ask LG to verify the status for the serial number and your situation. Do not assume that a TV is covered merely because its model page lists a warranty, or that it is out of coverage based only on its model year.

- The full model number and serial number.
- The original purchase or delivery date.
- The original receipt, invoice, or delivery record.
- A clear description of the problem and, if relevant, when it began.
The public warranty lookup is a starting point, not a guarantee that a particular repair will be approved. LG reviews the TV and claim under the terms that apply to that product.
It helps to have the exact model-specific warranty page or document available when you call or submit a support request. You can then point to the term you are trying to interpret—for example, whether the listed period is for parts, labor, or the OLED display panel. If you are contacting LG because the website is unclear, describe the exact difference you see rather than relying on a broad statement such as “OLED TVs have a longer warranty.”
Keep copies of the relevant purchase document and the product-identification details together. Do not send or share personal purchase information except through LG’s official support channels. The important point for the coverage check is to provide LG with the documents and identifiers it requests so it can assess the actual TV and claim.
If the TV is out of warranty
LG says owners of out-of-warranty TVs can still request LG Direct Service. The diagnostic fee can change, so contact LG for the current amount before arranging service. LG also offers optional Premium Care extended plans; check directly with LG for current terms and eligibility rather than assuming a particular plan is available for your TV.
Before deciding between a paid repair and an optional plan, separate the two questions. LG Direct Service is a service route an owner can request when a TV is out of warranty; LG advises contacting it for the current diagnostic fee. Premium Care is an optional extended plan, and its eligibility and terms need to be confirmed with LG. Neither the public warranty lookup nor the examples above establish that a particular TV qualifies for a plan or that a particular repair will cost a stated amount.

U.S. coverage and other regions
The lookup and examples here are for the United States. LG’s U.S. limited warranty applies to products lawfully purchased, installed, and used in the United States, including U.S. territories. If your TV was purchased or is used elsewhere, consult the LG website and warranty document for that country or region; do not apply U.S. terms to it.
Location matters alongside the exact model and dates. LG’s general U.S. guidance is limited to qualifying products purchased, installed, and used in the United States and its territories. If you moved, bought the set in another country, or are checking a TV outside the United States, use the relevant country’s LG site and the warranty documentation supplied with that product. The U.S. examples in this article should not be used to decide coverage elsewhere.
Warranty pages and service details may change. LG’s U.S. guidance and sampled model pages were checked October 11, 2026. Recheck LG’s current information when making a coverage decision, and ask LG directly if the applicable document, purchase date, or product status is uncertain.

How do I check if my LG TV is still under warranty?
Find the exact model number, search it on LG Electronics USA’s Warranty Information page, then compare the applicable terms with the TV’s original purchase or delivery date. Keep the original receipt, invoice, or delivery record. For a definitive status check on the individual set, contact LG with the model number, serial number, date, and proof of purchase.
Where do I find the model and serial number on my LG OLED TV?
LG says both are on the label on the back of the TV. The model is also available in the TV’s information menus; on some older sets, try Home > Settings (or Setup) > Support > Product/Service Info > OK. Menu names vary by generation.
Does registering my LG TV extend the warranty?
No. MyLG can save product details and provide access to support and warranty information, but LG’s U.S. OLED warranty document says registration does not substitute for proof of warranty, determine the purchase date, or extend the warranty period. Keep the original receipt or invoice.
Does the LG OLED panel warranty cover labor?
It depends on the exact model and its warranty terms. For example, LG’s sampled OLED77G5 product page lists OLED display panel coverage from years two through five and says labor is charged. That example does not establish the labor terms for another OLED model; check its exact product page and warranty document.

Can I check the warranty on a used LG OLED TV?
Yes. Search the exact model, ask for the original receipt or invoice and original delivery or purchase date, and contact LG with the model and serial numbers to confirm the individual TV’s status. The warranty start date is based on the original delivery or purchase, not simply the date you bought the used set.
What if the LG warranty lookup does not show whether my repair is covered?
The public lookup shows model information, not a guarantee that a particular claim will be approved. Have the model number, serial number, original purchase date, proof of purchase, and a description of the problem ready, then ask LG to confirm the status and how the claim will be handled.
The Bottom Line
Use the complete model number to find the right LG warranty terms, then apply them to the original purchase or delivery date and keep the original proof of purchase. Parts, labor, and OLED panel coverage can differ by model. MyLG registration is useful for records, but it does not extend coverage or replace the paperwork. If the terms or dates are uncertain, LG can confirm the status for the individual TV.
