To check Starlink at a Spanish property, use the official Starlink Availability Map, enter the complete address in the Service Address field, choose the matching suggestion, and read the status and plans returned for that location. A country, province or town view is only a general indication; it cannot prove that a particular home can order service. Availability and plans can change, so repeat the address check when you are ready to subscribe.
An accepted address is only the first part of the decision. Before selecting an installation point, use the Starlink app’s Check for Obstructions tool to verify that the dish will have a clear view of the sky. Trees, poles and roofs can block the satellites and cause interruptions even when the service address itself is eligible.

What the Starlink address check actually tells you
The availability map evaluates the service location you submit, not the nearest city or a broad shaded area on a map. The result reflects Starlink’s current service status and the plans that can be ordered there. Because the map is live, an answer seen today should not be treated as a permanent guarantee: check again immediately before placing an order.
The map’s result is about network and regulatory availability. It does not inspect your roof, garden or balcony, and it does not guarantee that a particular mounting position can maintain a satellite connection. Installation suitability is a separate on-site check described below.

Step-by-step: check a Spanish service address
- Open the official map. Go to https://starlink.com/pr/map. Use the Starlink map rather than relying on a screenshot, a third-party coverage graphic or a country-level impression.
- Find the Service Address field. The page labels the input Service Address. This is the address where the dish will be installed and where service will be used.
- Enter the complete address. Include the street information, building number and the locality details needed to identify the property in Spain. If the property has a unit, apartment or other distinguishing information, use the form’s available address details so that the result is tied to the intended location rather than a nearby point.
- Select the matching suggestion. The map presents address suggestions as you type. Choose the suggestion that corresponds to the actual property. Do not stop at the name of a municipality, province or nearby landmark; the eligibility result must be for the exact service location.
- Read the status shown for that address. Note whether the map says service is available, pending, or sold out/at capacity. Treat the status and the plans displayed in the current order flow as the applicable information for that address.
- Review the plans returned. The available plan choices are location-dependent and can change. Record the plan name and recurring price shown in the live flow if you are comparing it with another connection; do not substitute a price seen on an older page or for another Spanish address.
- Check the installation site before ordering hardware. If the address can be served, open the Starlink app at the property and run Check for Obstructions from the location where you might install the dish. This check answers a different question from the map: whether the proposed physical position can see enough sky.
- Recheck at the point of purchase. If you wait to order, return to the map and order flow. Coverage, capacity and the plans offered at an address are subject to change.
How to interpret each availability status
| Status | What it means | What to do next |
|---|---|---|
| Available | The map indicates that the area can receive Starlink service now. | Confirm the exact address and the plans currently displayed, then check the proposed dish location for obstructions before ordering. |
| Pending | Starlink describes the location as awaiting service coverage or regulatory approval. | Do not describe the address as orderable residential service today. Check the map again later rather than assuming a launch date. |
| Sold out / at capacity | Residential capacity in the region is full, so new residential activations are not possible at that time. | There is no reopening timetable supplied by Starlink. If the connection is for a business, check the business-availability pathway separately because it may differ. |
The status is not a speed test, an installation appointment or a promise that every room will have an unobstructed signal. It is the current eligibility result associated with the service address you selected.
What “sold out” means in Spain
When the Help Center says a region is “sold out” or at capacity, it means residential service activations are currently unavailable because residential capacity is full. Starlink does not provide an estimated date for capacity to reopen. A map that is sold out therefore cannot be used to place a new residential activation at that moment.
Do not infer that all Starlink products or customer types have identical eligibility. Starlink states that business-plan availability may differ. If the intended use is commercial, check the business route and its own result rather than treating a residential sold-out message as a definitive answer for every plan.

A Pending result is not the same as “available with a delay.” The map uses that status for service coverage or regulatory approval that has not yet been completed. Because no orderable residential service is established by the pending label, avoid committing to an installation date, buying mounting equipment for immediate activation, or telling a tenant that service can start now.
The practical approach is to save the exact address, revisit the official map periodically and make a separate comparison with terrestrial broadband options. The map can change as coverage or approvals change, but Starlink’s availability page does not establish a guaranteed date from a pending label alone.

Check the sky view at the actual property
Starlink’s official installation guide states: “Your Starlink needs a clear view of the sky so it can stay connected with satellites as they move overhead.” The same guide warns that obstructions such as trees, poles or roofs can block that view and cause service interruptions. This is why an address that passes the online eligibility check can still perform poorly from an unsuitable mounting position.
Use the app’s obstruction check
- Stand at the property where the dish could realistically be installed.
- Open the Starlink app and select the Check for Obstructions tool.
- Follow the app’s on-screen scan from the proposed position, keeping the phone oriented as instructed.
- Repeat the scan at other plausible positions if the first location includes trees, neighboring structures or roof lines.
- Choose a position that provides the clearest practical sky view and that can be mounted safely.
The app check is a planning aid, not permission to climb onto an unsafe roof or alter a building. If ground level is obstructed, the installation guide notes that an elevated position such as a roof, pole or wall may be considered. Any elevated installation must account for safe access, structural support, weather exposure and local permissions; the guide confirms the type of position that may improve visibility but does not make a site-specific structural assessment.

- Open ground or terrace: Use the app to confirm that nearby walls, parapets or trees do not intrude into the dish’s view.
- Garden with mature trees: Scan from the exact place where the dish would stand. A clear view in one season can become obstructed as branches grow or foliage changes.
- Roof installation: Consider a roof or pole only when it is safe and adequately supported. A roof edge that looks open from the ground can still be blocked by a higher section of roof.
- Apartment or shared building: The map result applies to the service address, but a usable mounting location may require the property owner’s or community’s permission. The address checker does not grant that permission.
Use Spain’s government coverage map as a comparison tool
For alternatives to satellite service, consult the Spanish government’s Cobertura de Banda Ancha resource. The page, published 7 May 2026, organizes operator-reported fixed and mobile broadband coverage by autonomous community, province and municipality using the government’s stated methodology.
This government map answers a different question from Starlink’s checker. It provides terrestrial fixed and mobile coverage context; it does not submit your address to Starlink and cannot change a Starlink result from pending or sold out to available. Conversely, a broad terrestrial coverage layer does not prove that a particular building can be connected: confirm the exact offer with the relevant network provider.
Compare connections without guessing
| Question | Starlink check | Terrestrial comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Can this exact location be served? | Enter the complete service address on Starlink’s map. | Use the government map for area context, then verify the building with the provider. |
| Which plan and recurring price are available? | Read the plans shown after selecting the address in the live Starlink flow. | Confirm current offers directly; the government coverage map does not establish a retail plan or price. |
| What installation condition matters? | The dish needs a clear sky view; test the proposed position with the app. | Fixed or mobile services have their own last-mile, building and signal conditions, which must be checked with the provider. |
| How current is the result? | Coverage, capacity and plan availability can change, so recheck before ordering. | The government map is a published coverage resource; consult its current layers and methodology date when making a decision. |
Troubleshooting an unexpected result
The map returns the wrong place
Clear the field and enter more of the full address, then select the matching suggestion rather than accepting the first autocomplete result. Check the municipality and province shown by the selected location. If the property is new, rural or addressed differently in official records, try the formal address used by local authorities while ensuring that the selected point is still the intended service location.

The map shows available, but the property has no clear sky
Availability and obstruction checks are independent. Move the proposed installation point and run the app scan again. If every practical ground-level position is blocked, evaluate a safe elevated position such as a roof, wall or pole, subject to structural and property permissions. Do not treat the online “Available” label as evidence that a blocked dish will remain connected.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe map says sold out
There is no residential activation to complete while the region is at capacity, and Starlink gives no reopening timeline. Recheck later and use Spain’s terrestrial coverage resource to investigate fixed or mobile alternatives in the meantime. If your requirement is business service, check business eligibility separately rather than assuming the residential result applies.
The map says pending
Pending indicates that coverage or regulatory approval is not complete. Keep the address-specific link or details for a later check, but do not schedule an installation or represent the service as currently orderable.
The plan or price differs from something seen elsewhere
Use the plan and recurring price displayed for your exact address in the current order flow. Location, capacity and time can affect what is offered; an older screenshot, a result for another town or a general advertisement is not a substitute for the live address result.
Checklist before you commit
- Open the official Starlink map, not a general coverage image.
- Enter the complete Spanish service address and select the correct suggested location.
- Save the exact status: Available, Pending or Sold out/at capacity.
- Read the plan choices and recurring prices shown for that address at the time you intend to order.
- If the result is sold out, understand that residential activation is unavailable and no reopening date is promised.
- If the use is business, check business availability separately.
- Run the Starlink app’s Check for Obstructions tool at the proposed installation point.
- Account for trees, poles, roofs and other objects that can interrupt the satellite view.
- Confirm that any roof, wall or pole installation is safe and permitted.
- Compare terrestrial fixed and mobile coverage with Spain’s government map, then verify any exact provider offer directly.
- Repeat the checks immediately before ordering because availability and plans can change.
What you can and cannot conclude from the map
You can conclude that Starlink’s current system associates a particular status and plan set with the exact address you selected. You cannot conclude from a country-level shaded area that your home can order, from an available status that your roof has an unobstructed view, or from a pending status that service will begin by a specific date. A sold-out residential result means no new residential activation at that time, not that Starlink has published a reopening schedule.

The reliable sequence is therefore address eligibility first, physical sky-view verification second, and plan and alternative-network comparison third. Following that order prevents the most common mistake: buying or planning installation before confirming that both the location and the proposed dish position can support service.
