To check whether Starlink can serve you in India, use Starlink’s official availability map and enter the exact installation address. The map shows whether service is available, pending coverage or regulatory approval, and which order options apply. If ordering is enabled for that address, the official checkout preview is the authoritative place to see the local kit charge and recurring monthly price.
Do not convert prices displayed for another country into Indian prices. Current evidence also does not establish a universal India-wide kit price, monthly fee, speed promise, data allowance or consumer activation route. What the Starlink availability check can—and cannot—tell you
Starlink is an address-based satellite-internet service. Coverage is not confirmed simply because a satellite passes over a state or because the service is discussed in the news. The relevant question is whether Starlink accepts your specific service address and offers an orderable plan there.

Results can differ between neighboring locations because capacity, licensing, network design and local service limits are location-sensitive.

A map result normally falls into one of three practical categories:
- Service available: Starlink presents an order path or plan for the address.
- Pending coverage: service is not currently orderable, but the map indicates a future availability state.
- Pending regulatory approval: the location cannot be treated as live consumer coverage until the required authorization is in place.
A map marker, a waitlist indication or a news report is not the same as an accepted order. The order flow is the point at which Starlink confirms that it can sell a service and associate equipment with the address.
How to check Starlink coverage in India
- Open Starlink’s official availability map. Use the map provided on Starlink’s own website, not a screenshot, reseller map or social-media post. Coverage and plan data can change.
- Enter the full intended service address. Include the house or building number, street, locality, city, state and postal code when the form requests them. Use the installation address, not a billing address in another city.
- Inspect the status shown for that address. Note whether the result says service is available, pending coverage or pending regulatory approval. A pending result is not permission to activate a dish today.
- Review the plans and order options. The map or linked order flow may show residential, roaming or other categories. Read the restrictions and service location attached to each option.
- Continue only far enough to view the order preview. If Starlink accepts the address, the preview should identify the kit charge and the recurring monthly service price for that market and location.
- Save the result before you buy equipment. Record the date, address, plan name and displayed charges. Dynamic pages can change, and a result for one address does not prove eligibility at another.
If the map does not accept your address, try the official address format suggested by the form, but do not substitute a nearby address merely to obtain an order. Equipment registered to the wrong location may not be eligible for activation where you actually live.

Starlink’s help guidance identifies the address-based order preview as the way to check local pricing. Treat the preview as two separate amounts:
- Kit charge: the one-time price for the Starlink terminal and associated hardware shown in the order.
- Monthly service charge: the recurring amount for the selected service plan.
Taxes, shipping, duties, installation or other checkout items may be shown separately. Read every line before submitting payment, and check the currency and billing interval displayed on the page.
The amount shown on a plan page localized to another country is not an India quote. Exchange-rate conversion, a foreign tax treatment or a copied price from a review cannot establish what an Indian customer will pay. The reviewed material does not establish a current India-specific kit price or monthly plan price outside the address-specific Starlink flow.
Residential versus roaming: the first plan comparison
Starlink’s plan catalogue uses residential and roaming categories, but the exact names, prices and terms depend on the market and address. The distinction below explains how to evaluate an offer without importing foreign-market figures.

Do not assume that a roaming plan bypasses a regulatory restriction or lets an imported kit operate anywhere. Mobility is a plan feature, not a substitute for address eligibility, local authorization or compatible account registration.
Questions to answer before selecting a plan
- Is the plan offered for your exact Indian address, or only visible on a page for another market?
- Does the plan require a fixed service address?
- What travel areas and time limits are stated for roaming?
- Are there usage-management, network-management or congestion provisions?
- What happens if you move the terminal to another state or country?
- Are taxes, shipping and hardware billed separately?
If a term is not displayed in the Indian order flow, treat it as unknown rather than borrowing it from an overseas plan page.
What is confirmed about Starlink and Indian authorization
India’s Department of Telecommunications eServices listings identify Starlink Satellite Communication Private Limited among entities listed for Global Mobile Personal Communications by Satellite (GMPCS) service and Commercial VSAT Closed User Group (CUG) service. A listing is meaningful evidence that the company appears in those authorization records; it is not, by itself, proof that consumer internet is live at your address.
The GMPCS search extract identifies listed licensees as of 10 June 2025. That date describes the record shown in the extract, not a Starlink launch date or a promise that every Indian location can order service.
In 2021, the Department of Telecommunications warned that Starlink had not then obtained authorization and that bookings were premature. That statement is historical context. It should not be presented as today’s licensing position, nor should a later licensee listing be treated as proof of current retail availability.
In March 2025, the Associated Press reported that agreements involving Airtel and Jio contemplated potential equipment distribution and business opportunities, subject to government approval. Those reports describe conditional arrangements; they do not establish that either operator currently sells Starlink equipment, activates accounts or quotes an Indian consumer plan.
Can you order Starlink in India right now?
There is no single nationwide answer that replaces the address check. The evidence reviewed does not establish a universal Indian consumer order path, a live order for every state or a published India-wide tariff. The only reliable way to determine whether you can order is to enter your service address in Starlink’s current map and proceed to the official order preview.

An orderable result should show more than a general coverage color. Look for a plan selection, an equipment option and checkout details tied to your address. If the page only offers notification registration, a future date or a regulatory-pending message, you do not yet have a confirmed order.

The physical product is a Starlink terminal kit, and Starlink’s own pricing guidance separates the kit from the monthly service. A kit advertised in a marketplace listing may therefore be genuine hardware while still being unusable at your address.
Before paying a reseller, verify all of the following through Starlink’s official account and address flow:
- The exact hardware model is intended for the market in which you will activate it.
- The seller is authorized, or can provide a transferable purchase with a clear account-ownership process.
- The kit is not already attached to another customer’s account.
- Your Indian service address is eligible for activation.
- The order flow accepts the kit’s serial number or transfer procedure, if one is required.
- Warranty, return and import obligations are clear.
Do not infer Indian compatibility from a foreign product listing, an overseas warranty, a low converted price or a claim that the dish works anywhere. Market-specific availability can affect activation even when the hardware looks identical.
What the current evidence does not establish
Readers commonly search for a single Starlink India price, expected speed or monthly data allowance. Those figures should not be supplied from another country. The reviewed sources do not establish:

Network performance can also vary with congestion, weather, obstructions, installation quality and the plan’s local capacity. A foreign reviewer’s speed test cannot serve as a commitment for your address.
How to avoid common checking mistakes
Using a city-level result
A city name is too broad for a service that is evaluated by address. Enter the actual installation location and repeat the check if you move.
Reading a foreign plan page as an Indian tariff
Starlink’s plan pages can display prices for the market selected by the site or account. Confirm the country, currency and address in the order flow before recording any amount.
Treating a licensee listing as a live retail launch
Regulatory records identify authorization categories and listed entities. They do not show that a particular household can order today. Use the map and order preview for that operational question.
Buying hardware before checking eligibility
Hardware ownership does not guarantee account activation. Check the address first, then confirm that the kit can be registered for that address.
Relying on partnership headlines
Reports about potential distribution through telecom operators may be conditional on approvals. Unless an operator and Starlink present a current purchase and activation process, treat the report as background rather than a buying route.
Troubleshooting an unexpected map or order result
The map says pending regulatory approval
Do not pay a reseller or import a kit on the assumption that approval is imminent. Save the result, monitor the official map and wait for an orderable status.
The map shows coverage but no checkout
Check that the pin is on the correct address, that the form has not selected another country and that you are using the official account flow. A coverage visualization can cover a wider area than the locations currently accepting orders.
The order preview shows a currency you do not expect
Stop before payment. Confirm the country, service address and account region. Do not treat an automatically converted amount as an India-specific quote.

A reseller says the kit is unlocked
Ask Starlink to confirm the activation or transfer process for your address. “Unlocked” is not a substitute for market eligibility, an available plan or a valid account transfer.
Your address is rejected
Re-enter the address using the map’s suggested format and verify the postal code. If it remains rejected, use the result as a lack of confirmed eligibility rather than substituting a nearby address.

A household should verify that the address used for ordering is where the terminal will normally operate. A business or remote worksite should check the same point for each site rather than assuming that one approved address covers multiple offices, branches or project locations. If a company needs service at several sites, record each address separately and compare the plan options displayed for each one.
Travellers should not treat roaming as a blanket permission to cross borders. Read the geographic area, duration and account requirements shown for the roaming offer. A roaming label does not remove Indian authorization requirements, change the market of an imported kit or guarantee service at a destination that the order flow does not recognize.
When comparing total cost, keep one-time and recurring charges separate. The kit may be payable even if a monthly plan is later paused or changed, while shipping, taxes, duties or installation can affect the amount due at checkout. Only the official preview for the chosen address can show which of these items apply.
A practical pre-purchase checklist
- Exact Indian installation address entered in the official availability map.
- Status recorded as available rather than pending coverage or pending approval.
- Plan category selected with its mobility and usage restrictions read.

- Currency, taxes, shipping and any separate fees checked.

How to keep the result current
Starlink’s map and plan information are dynamic and location-sensitive. Recheck whenever you change address, switch plan categories or delay a purchase. A result captured months earlier may no longer reflect capacity, regulatory status or pricing.
For the same reason, avoid publishing or relying on a single nationwide figure. The useful record is the address, date, plan and checkout amount shown together. That combination answers the question a general announcement cannot: whether Starlink can serve this location under the terms offered now.
