Open the exact game listing in the PlayStation Store for your account’s region, confirm the edition and platform, and note the live price shown at checkout. Add the game to your PlayStation wishlist and enable wishlist-update notifications on your PS5 or in the PlayStation App. If you need to know whether a sale is unusually low, compare that same listing with a price-history tracker, then return to the official Store and verify the current offer before paying.
What you need to check before comparing prices
PlayStation Store pricing is tied to the region of your PlayStation account. The same game can have a different list price, discount percentage, currency, sale period or membership offer elsewhere. A useful comparison therefore starts with your own Store region, not a screenshot or price shown for another country.

- Account region: Use the Store attached to the account that will make the purchase. A foreign listing may not be purchasable with your account, and a different currency can make a discount look better or worse than it is.
- Platform: Check whether the listing is for PS4, PS5 or both. Separate versions can have different prices or discounts.
- Edition: Match the standard game, deluxe edition, complete edition, bundle or upgrade exactly. Extra expansions, cosmetic packs and season passes can make two similarly named listings poor substitutes.
- Ownership status: A cross-buy entitlement, upgrade offer or add-on is not automatically equivalent to buying a standalone game.
- Membership: Check whether the price is a general Store discount or an offer restricted to a PlayStation Plus tier.
- Timing: Store prices and sale end dates can change. Treat a notification as an indication that something changed, not a guarantee that the displayed deal will remain available.
Write down the title, edition, platform, current price and sale end date, or keep the listing open while you compare it. This prevents a historical chart for one version being compared with a different edition in the Store.
Check the live price in the official Store
On a PS5
- Open the PlayStation Store from the PS5 home screen.
- Search for the game and open its product page rather than relying on a search-result tile.
- Review the platform selector, edition name, included content and displayed currency.
- Read the current price and any discount label. Open the purchase flow far enough to confirm the amount that applies to your account, but do not complete the order until you have finished your comparison.
- Select the heart-shaped wishlist control on the game page if you want future price notifications.
The product page is the authoritative place to confirm what Sony is charging at that moment. A third-party chart, browser extension or notification can provide context, but none of them replaces the Store listing for the transaction itself.

In a PC browser
- Open the PlayStation Store website for your account’s region and sign in if prompted.
- Search for the title and choose the exact game page, not a similarly named add-on or soundtrack.
- Inspect the edition, PS4/PS5 availability, bundle contents and membership price.
- Record the live price and any stated sale period.
- Use the heart-shaped wishlist control to save the listing for later.
The web Store is especially useful when you want to compare several editions in separate tabs. Regional storefronts can show different amounts, so check the country or currency shown by the page before drawing a conclusion.
In the PlayStation App
- Open the PlayStation App for iOS or Android and sign in to the account that will buy the game.
- Search for the title and open its Store listing.
- Confirm the platform, edition, price and any membership requirement.
- Tap the heart-shaped wishlist control.
The app is convenient for saving a game while away from the console, but always re-open the listing when you are ready to buy. Mobile notifications may arrive after the Store has changed the price again.
Turn on PlayStation wishlist price notifications
PS5 notification path
- From the PS5 home screen, open Settings.
- Select Notifications.
- Open Wishlist Updates.
- Enable the pop-up notifications for wishlist updates.
PlayStation describes wishlist updates as including discounts and price reductions. The alert tells you that an update occurred; it does not establish that the offer is the lowest price the game has ever reached or that it will remain available until you purchase.

PlayStation App notification path
- Open the PlayStation App and go to its notification settings.
- Allow push notifications at the phone’s operating-system level if they are disabled.
- Turn on wishlist updates in the app.
- Check that the desired game is actually saved to your wishlist under the same account.
There are two separate controls to check: the app’s wishlist-update setting and the phone’s permission to deliver push notifications. If either is off, a price change may not produce an alert.

Wishlist alerts can include catalog additions
PlayStation’s guide also describes notifications when a wishlisted game is added to the PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium catalog. That is an access update, not necessarily a reduction in the game’s purchase price. If you want permanent ownership, open the Store listing and compare the purchase option with the terms of your membership. If you only need access while subscribed, the catalog listing may answer a different question from “what is the cheapest purchase price?”
Use the wishlist to organize games you may buy later
The wishlist is more useful when it contains the exact versions you are considering. Remove duplicate editions, add the preferred platform version and avoid treating a bundle as interchangeable with the base game. On PS5, in the PlayStation App or in the PC Store interface, PlayStation describes sorting the PS5 wishlist by release date, price, name or the date an item was added.
Sorting by price helps you scan a long list during a sale. Sorting by when an item was added can remind you which games you have been watching longest. Sorting by release date is useful when deciding whether to wait for a newer release to receive its first discount. These views organize the list; they do not provide a historical low-price calculation.

Why the sale percentage is not enough
A “30% off” badge compares the current offer with the Store’s reference price. It does not tell you whether the game was cheaper in an earlier promotion, whether the reference price recently changed, or whether another edition previously offered more content for a similar amount. A price-history service can add that missing context by showing earlier prices and recorded sale lows.

A practical comparison sequence
- Copy the exact title and edition from the official Store page.
- Choose the same region in the price-history service.
- Select the matching platform and edition where the service provides those filters.
- Look for the recorded lowest price, previous sale prices and the dates attached to them.
- Compare the current Store amount with that history, taking membership eligibility into account.
- Return to the official Store and confirm the live amount immediately before checkout.
If the tracker shows a lower number than the Store, first check whether it belongs to another region, platform, edition or membership tier. If all details match, the feed may simply be behind the Store. Do not assume the lower historical figure is still available.
Price-history and alert services
Third-party services are useful for historical context, watchlists and extra alert channels. Their feature descriptions come from the providers or app marketplaces; the available material does not independently establish that one service is faster or more accurate than another.

PlatPrices describes its own dataset as covering 47 PSN regions and more than 20 million price points since November 2020. That is a description of the service’s tracked data, not an independent statistic about every PlayStation Store transaction.

A browser extension can place a history panel or regional comparison beside a Store page, reducing the need to copy a title into a separate site. The PlatPrices extension’s provider description includes current prices, PlayStation Plus prices, recent history and low-price indications. It says the extension supports Chrome and other Chromium browsers, while account-connected wishlist features may require signing in to a PlatPrices account.

Use an extension only if you understand what account access it requests and which Store page it is reading. A displayed number still needs verification in the official Store. Disable or remove an extension if it behaves unexpectedly, requests permissions unrelated to price checking or stops receiving updates. The notification never arrived
- Confirm the game is on the wishlist for the correct account.
- On PS5, revisit Settings → Notifications → Wishlist Updates.
- In the PlayStation App, enable wishlist updates and the phone’s push permission.
- Check whether the phone is blocking notifications through Focus, Do Not Disturb or battery-saving rules.
- Open the Store manually; an alert system is not a substitute for checking a time-limited sale.
The tracker shows a different price
- Match the region and currency.
- Match PS4 versus PS5.
- Match the exact edition and bundle contents.
- Check whether one figure is a PlayStation Plus price.
- Allow for a short feed delay after a Store update, then use the official listing as the final authority.
The listing has several prices
Expand the edition selector and read what each option contains. A deluxe or complete edition may cost more but include downloadable content that would otherwise be purchased separately. Conversely, a discounted upgrade may not be a full standalone license. Compare the total content and eligibility requirements, not only the largest percentage shown on the page.
The game disappeared from the wishlist
Search for the title again and check whether the Store has replaced, delisted or renamed the listing. A publisher can create a new bundle or edition that is not the same product record you originally saved. Save the exact edition again and verify that notifications remain enabled.
A repeatable buying checklist
- Am I signed in to the account and region that will make the purchase?
- Is this the correct PS4 or PS5 version?
- Does the edition include the content I want?
- Is the displayed amount a standard price, sale price, upgrade price or membership price?
- Have I checked the sale end date or other timing information?
- Have I compared the matching listing with a price history if I care about the lowest-ever price?
- Did I return to the official Store and confirm the live total immediately before checkout?
This process separates three different questions: what Sony charges now, whether the game has been cheaper before and whether you will receive an alert next time. The official Store answers the first, a history service can inform the second and wishlist or tracker notifications address the third.
