- Open the ACC report: On the ACC availability page, select the football report for that matchup.
- Check it over time: Start three nights before the conference game, revisit daily, and check again around the game-day report deadline.

How to interpret the status labels
The labels differ before game day and on game day. These definitions are the ACC’s stated meanings, not a diagnosis or a guarantee that a player will participate.

The ACC describes these categories on its availability-reporting page. A pre-game label may not be the same as the player’s game-day designation, so use the report for the relevant date.

Why “out” does not necessarily mean injured
An availability status does not reveal why a player’s status is uncertain. The ACC says a player may be listed because of injury or illness, academic or other eligibility issues, personal or family matters, or other circumstances; only the status, not the specific reason, is made public. The conference stated this in its July 22, 2025 policy announcement.
Accordingly, describe a player as “listed out” or “questionable on the ACC availability report,” and include when you checked. Do not call the player injured or assign a cause unless a separate official statement confirms it.

What to check if the ACC report does not cover the game
The ACC reporting policy described here is for conference games, so it does not establish a public reporting requirement for every nonconference matchup. Check UNC Athletics’ official schedule and football coverage for any team-published update. If no official availability information is posted, the player’s status is not established by the ACC policy alone.
