On a Nokia phone, Android’s Battery settings can show which apps or system activity have used charge; they do not necessarily show the battery’s remaining capacity or overall condition. For a health indicator, HMD’s My Device app advertises battery-health viewing and diagnostics, but whether that feature appears depends on the device.
Check which apps are using your Nokia’s battery
- Open Settings. Search Settings for Battery if you do not see a Battery menu. On many Android versions, the usage screen is under Settings > Battery > Battery usage, but Nokia menu names and paths vary by model and Android version.
- Review the usage chart or list. Look at the period shown and identify apps or system activity accounting for a notable share of consumption. The screen reports charge use for that period, not necessarily the battery’s capacity or health.
- Open an app’s entry for details. If your phone offers them, review its foreground and background use and use the available battery or background-activity controls. Options and labels differ by software version.
Check whether your Nokia shows battery health
Battery percentage, battery usage, and battery health are different readings. The percentage shows the current charge; usage attributes consumption over a displayed period. A health reading, when available, estimates the battery’s condition or capacity relative to when it was new.

HMD’s Google Play listing for My Device by HMD describes battery-health viewing and device diagnostics for Nokia and HMD Android phones and tablets. Open the app, or install it from Google Play if it is available for your device, and look for its battery-health or diagnostics section. The listing does not establish that this feature is available on every Nokia model or software version, so an absent reading does not by itself indicate a fault.

What to do if the battery drains unusually quickly
Fast drain is a reason to investigate, not proof that the battery is worn out. Use the usage list to check for an app or system activity that changed, particularly after installing an app or updating software. Then try these general checks:

- Install available Android and app updates, then restart the phone.
- Review battery or background-activity controls for unusually active apps, where your model provides them.
- Keep the phone cool. Google’s Android guidance notes that heat can increase battery drain; avoid leaving the phone in hot places or using it in conditions that make it excessively warm.
- Do not repeatedly drain the battery to empty as a way to “teach” it its capacity. Google does not recommend full-to-empty cycling for that purpose.
Android battery-saving settings vary by device and version. Google’s general Android battery help describes care and power-saving options, but instructions written specifically for Pixel phones should not be treated as Nokia menu directions.
